This is the new E-flite Ultimate2 BNF Basic with AS3X Technology, stock manual settings guided by a DX 18QQ and powered by an E-flite 3S 2200mah 30C lipo. It flies great and feels way bigger in the air than it is! Video is taken with my GoPro on the head strap mount.

This is the new E-flite Carbon-Z T-28 BNF Basic with AS3X Technology guided by a DX-18QQ with stock manual program settings. I'm using an E-flite High-Power Series 6S 5000mah 30C lipo for power. This plane is an absolute blast to fly, AS3X technology makes it feel bigger than it is in the air, it handles the wind with no problems, flap function is excellent, electric retracts work flawlessly an...

Thoughts on this as a 2nd plane coming from an Eflite apprentice?
As long as you are proficient with the apprentice and ailerons/rudder use you should be fine. The retracts arent going to be as forgiving as the gear on a trainer in a hard landing. A couple friends of mine went from the apprentice and the sport cub into this plane as a second plane and have done well with it. It is a very stable and predictable plane just like the smaller version.
Sounds good. I haven't actually flown yet. I bought the apprentice which should be here any day now. However, I've been killing it on the Phoenix 5.5 sim. I fly it in advanced mode and I find it pretty easy to fly, but I know real world will be quite different.
Lee, how are the slow flight characteristics of this plane in precision mode? Just three weeks in the hobby, self taught, lots of Phoenix sim time, can take the Ultimate Sport around the pattern inverted in the sim. Have only 24 flights (Champ, Super Cub S, Radian & Apprentice), and I love bipes. I was hoping that with safe technology and safe mode, I could successfully work with this incredible machine and slowly work into aerobatics and some day, 3D. Too much to bite off?
It's definitely an aggressive and responsive plane compared to something like the apprentice and radian. The AS3X system help make it a stable and predictable plane, especially on low rates but I'm just not sure if you should jump to one yet. I'd say if you can fly the apprentice around without the safe assist, do some basic aerobatics such as inverted flight, loops and rolls with confidence then you would likely be successful with the Ultimate.
+Lee Morey Lee, thanks for the quick reply. I do find the Apprentice to be a bit slippery in advanced mode. I have tried nothing more than basic loops with it. I have only 4 flights in it, but I get antsy for the next level. I need to learn some patience. I'll take your advice and get more stick time in. Interestingly, I have over 15,200 hours in jet piloting time and a degree in aeronautical engineering, but that doesn't help a whit flying these slippery suckers around. I want to be like you when I grow up and do the 3D stuff in your video! :)
I have flown this plane several time,s it fly,s beautiful it will do any thing you want it to do.If any body is thinking of getting this plane its a keeper..You will not be disappointed.
THAT has got to be the smoothest landing i've ever seen. Nice job. Shame we couldn't see it a bit closer
Looks fantastic I gotta get me one of those.i already have the carbon z cub so this one has to be next
Nice one.is the landing gear strong enough or is it plastic? Thx glenn
+1976axerhand The gear is holding up great, it's pretty heavy gauge wire with plastic covers over the wire. I've flown from the pavement in this video as well as heavy, bumpy grass with no issues.
+Lee Morey thanks lee......
Getting ready to buy one of these. What's your thoughts on it? Beautiful flying
+TheLosiracer It's well worth the investment, it flies as good or better than any wood built up warbird I've flown. If you get it you'll love it!
+Lee Morey awesome. Thank you very much for the response! Getting it Monday. Can't wait!!
Beautifulin the snow.If you would like the Carbon Cub decals for the windows give me a call,503-805-5089.They are on this channel Carbon Z Cub decals.Take care.
I am interested in the decals, I'll give you a call soon!
What size battery are you runing and what are your flight times?
Hey sorry for the delayed response, I'm using E-flight 6S 3200's and 5000's, as well as Thunder Power G6 45C 3300's like the one used in this video. The 32/3300's are centered on the battery tray and the 5000's are slightly further back so the back edge of the battery touches the hump in the bottom of the fuse.
Nice flying, have to get one of these, the floats work great on the snow!
It's an awesome plane, you'll love it!!
Hello great fly what you use for engine and how many weight it? thanks
Who is the bozo parked out on the runway????? Oh and nice flying. :)
