    Wow... very very good. Very nice rendition and I like the fact that you didn't attempt to play it too fast. I like also that the melody on the left hand comes out very clearly. The right hand is supposed to accompany the left hand melody up to some point and then they switch and the right hand takes the melody and the left accompanies it.

      @@zhampfu Thank you for replying. If you still studying it check this clip by Rubinstein where he explains how it is supposed to be played. ua-cam.com/video/UTKVeEYSp9U/v-deo.html It is very tricky etude but the information is there in the score and we must never forget that this is a piece of music, not athletics on keyboard. I'm a pianist my self btw, not a professional one of course andI think that the information is always on the score and that the contemporary professional pianists just over do it with their interpretations on classical pieces. They are trying way too much to show off, speed up, be loud etc and then they don't play music. Faster and louder is not better. A music piece must have balance and its phrasing must make sense. Anyway.. Check how Rubinstein plays it at the last part of the clip to see how much better it sounds.

    Brilliant work. Very natural and smooth. One thing that a lot of people do, and maybe it says in your edition? In all editions i've seen, the E in bar 4 RH carries over. It's a suspension, which i think is a beautiful inflection rather than a complete chord change.

    • @zhampfu
      @zhampfu 3 місяці тому

      Thanks alot. you mean all the way? In my edition there is e on 1 and on 3 which is being held over 4. (Henle Urtext edition)

    • @stefanhaffner
      @stefanhaffner 3 місяці тому

      I have henle too. Just watching it again. I think you are doing it as written. I thought you let go. I like to try and bring out the suspension though. A lot of people only hold the e on the 3 and then let go. Oh I guess you aren't doing a long pause on 3 which emphasises the suspension. Perhaps that's why it sounds different @@zhampfu

      @@stefanhaffner yes, I am holding it down but I do the Fermata only on 4 to have sort of an echo to the first 2 bars.

    hearing the song at a slower tempo is almost calming. I like it! Even if it's not final, it's pleasant for me to listen to.

    • @zhampfu
      @zhampfu 4 місяці тому

      Thanks, I'm happy you like it! It still feels pretty fast to play even though it's supposed to be way faster. Although I think many pianists play this piece a little bit too fast. I like it more if it is a little bit slower, so it doesn't all blur together.

    • @creativecolours2022
      @creativecolours2022 2 місяці тому

      @@zhampfu No it doesn't have to be way faster. Don't forget that what matters is the overall final impression. It must sound like music and not like athletics on piano. The approach that faster is better is wrong particularly when the pianist can't play clearly the different voices and keep the music flow. I'm sick and tired of virtuosos that are literally banging 😄 their pianos because it is out of context after all. Chopin didn't have in the first place a piano that could withstand that much abuse! He didn't write his music for "sprinter" pianists because his piano couldn't respond that fast. Beethoven didn't even have at his disposal pianos made with our modern technology, with so wide sound and deep bass notes. And Bach was coming straight from harpsichords. He didn't even have that extended keyboard to start with. So it is crucial to understand the context of each era and play accordingly and pay attention on the final result that should sound like music. Because that is what you are supposed to do when you are playing. To play music, not show off your virtuosity that you might have but this is not the point. The point is to interpret correctly what you are reading in the score. You are the intermediate between the score and me the listener. When I'm listening to you I don't have the score in front of me to see if you followed the indications and I'm not judging you ( or anyone else ) for your virtuosity. I'm listening to your music. Anyway... As I've already told you, you are very good. You understand what you are reading and you interpret it.
