Thanks for the video. Disconnecting the power didn't change this, but unplugging the usb cable from the back of the radio did fix it.

On the new versions of FLrig, the echo check box isn’t there. I tried to proceed without it. I can get FLrig to tune and drive my PTT. When I go to JS8, the cat control test works, but the PTT test fails. Once the PTT test fails, flrig crashes. Any advice?

I have the same setup, digirig and g90. I can’t get the test PTT to work. I keep getting a hamlib error: protocol error while setting frequency. What rig did you select since g90 isn’t an option? Any advice on getting mine to work?

Hmmm, I am getting a Rig failure Hamlib error when I try to do this. I did install Hamlib and do have a newer version of Wsjt-X.

I tried the elevated resonated counterpoise and wow, what a difference, just 2 counterpoise the length of the 1/4 wave ,and same for the whip, made poland,belgium,croacia, Slovenia the 1st try.

Adjust whip to what you going to use, 10,20,40 etc. need a coil for 40

Try faraday cloth ! Also adjust it with tuner

Radials make a huge difference as compared to a ground rod. I fought that battle when I first installed my dx commander. Cool video though!

As of today this radio will not function properly with a iambic paddle... the internal keyer continues to miss dits and dahs.

@radioman3229 4 minutes ago (edited) BEWARE! I have had my radio less than a week and xiegu .... raddiodity is not wanting to allow me to return the radio. If you want a radio to do CW, you should know you cant use paddles on the xiegu 6100 or 6200... they claim you can, but the internal keyer is faulty. The internal keyer... when using paddles, will miss dits and dahs. Raddiodity, is currently trying not to allow myself return the X6100 for this issue, and my friend return his X6200 for same CW issue. IMO, other than the CW issue, these are great little QRP radios. As you can see its been 2 years since Josh did this video, but they admittedly still have not fixed the CW paddle issue. If you usae a straight key, I believe they work fine... as far as I know. Another great you tuber... like Josh.. Thomas, K4SWL has done a recent video which shows the X6100 experiencing this CW keyer fault.

I got the g 90 a few weeks ago and love it! Worked Tampa FL from WV this week with the 90 and an attic antenna on 17 meters. The ATU is the best I have ever used.

It was mine too. Back in 2015. Love Shaun T in that. Don't think I could ever fully go back to it, Bc it killed my knees, didn't notice until later down the line.

How do you adjust the yaw and what exactly is the yaw on my G90? I know that adjusting the mic gain will make a big difference in the amount of static noise but seriously, how do you adjust the yaw?

nope I use a 12volt car battery and I charge it with a Chinese 12volt supply when I'm finished talking. Also its a great backup when the lights go out - which Is why I also converted the desk light to 12volt next to the rig. Those buttons I would rather use to filter out the sounds of my neighbor's grid tie inverters and solar pannels. They are a menace to ham radio! I wish the FCC would actually do its job when certifying these devices. But I have the same FTDX10 radio - it's very nice.

I don't upgrade to 1.80 version because i like to return downgrade to firmware 1.78b1 base and frontline 19 jan 2022 ( this is original version is at the time i buy this radio) It's dangerous to procedure to downgrade firmware? many thanks

Love your G90 videos Josh. I have one and have an FT-891. Glad I have the 891 as there is something strange with my G90. Turn it on, see the water fall and everything, but if there is someone on a frequency, let's say 7.255 (I know because I am listening on my 891), there is no activity on the waterfall (used to see the green jumping and know there was activity. All I see is a "sawblade" of green on the G90. I updated the Firmware to the latest (thought that may fix it - scared me to do it, but things weren't working anyway so I figured "what the ...." - Lol. Still not seeing activity on a specific frequency. I know it isn't the antenna as I have a Y adapter to the antenna and it is connected to my 891 and G90. Searched the Internet for what I am looking for and no avail, so I thought I would drop you a note and see if you had an idea. Would love to hear "hey KC3GBW - dummy - just do this" as I have tried a lot of different things. Anyway, may end up getting another G90 or X6100 as I had used the G90 for FT8 a month ago, then checked in to ECARS a few weeks ago, but it just started the "sawblade" on the waterfall a few days ago. Your waterfall is really bouncing when there is someone on frequency (mine used to do that).
