INCREDIBLE Fish at the Scranton Aquarium
I'm planning to do a similar tank soon too and was also debating between sand and fluorite! Are you happy you went with sand? The only worry I had was with anaerobic issues with sand.
This tank is long gone but I've been happy with sand in many tanks.
I just cleaned 20 pounds worth. Wow! This stuff holds a lot of debris. I paid $2.73 per pound after taxes (8.25%) There is a BOGO 50% off decor right now in the app. I am only a tad disappointed in the size. Was really hoping for a nice "centerpiece" and then fillers to go around. But it is a great product. Once you get it cleaned up. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you sir
You're welcome!
I have a tank of Ember Tetras that are always eating their eggs whenever they spawn. Hoping guppy grass will give me some babies! I just love my embers and want to have some forever.❤
Where can I buy a replacement frame? Ive checked Amazon, Ebay, and looked on line and cant find a place that has just a frame for cheap.
www.aquariumframeswholesale.com/custom-frames

This is more than 3 steps
Step 1 remove rim Step 2 remove silicone Step 3 sand rough edges Anything else is just the details.
Do you think its risky to do it on a 20 long? I really want a cool saltwater coral aquascape with rimless aquarium
The risk goes up as you go up in tank size but you could consider bracing the top by siliconing a piece of glass across the top.
I absolutely love guppy grass, but I just wish you could plant it. Every time I've planted it the bottom dies off and the rest dies soon after. Floating it does great, but I just don't like the look of it Floating. For Floating plants I prefer frogbit, salvinia or red root floaters
Hi!!! I have a 3-in-1 filter too. The problem is, i think its too strong for the tank… it creates a current and the fish swim against it. I feel like they wont have a time to sleep so i took the pump off. Is that alright or should i put it back on? 😢
It's going to depend on your set up and fish but if your worried it's too much flow I'd suggest adding some hardscape to give different areas of the tank different flow rates.
I bought some (only 1 lfs had it) for a guppy tank. It grows so easily and rapidly that I added it to 3 other tanks. I used to have hornwort years ago, but it shed too much. I ❤️ guppy grass.
Guppy grass is definitely better than hornwort!

I’m going to do this to a spare 5 gallon and turn it into a terrarium for jewel orchids so thank you!
Awesome!
Im converting small tank for inside a bigger tank
I'd love to see that!
For anyone buying these lights, specifically the 3ft 50w model there's a faulty batch. To discern if you have one of these lights, using the manual controls set the light to sunlight mode then using the up and down arrows reduce the brightness to the lowest setting then start increasing it. If the light turns a pinkish colour on the way back up at any stage you have a faulty LED driver on the green channel. I bought 4 of these and 2 were faulty. Run the test a couple of times to be sure.
Did you contact Hygger about this? I'd like to hear how they respond.
Would you suggest the same for a candy stripe Pleco, I've had him a few months and all he does is hide and not grow
Candy stripe plecos need more meat in their diet then most plecos so I'd be sure to do a decent amount of frozen shrimp, bloodworms, etc. but otherwise yes.
Lovin' that MetaFrame tank! I think the rocks are cool looking, just not my cup of tea... I'm more into river rocks and/or slate. I'm from Vermont and you can find them all around. Great video! Thank you.
Thanks for watching and I prefer river rock too. My 75g is actually currently scaped with a bunch of local river rock.
👍👍😊😊
Thanks for watching/commenting!
The problem is that if your fish tank is not at the same height level where you connect the hose forget it go back and take your bowl
You can still siphon out the water but you'd have to leave your water running at the faucet. It would be a big waste of water but it is possible.
I found out when I had a weight restriction of 15 pounds
Definitely need a different solution than buckets at that point.
Hi, I want to add a plastic frame to my aqueon 11.5 x 11.5 cube aquarium tank. I've seen many come apart and I don't want to lose my fish or destroyed the kitcken cabinets. If you know where I can purchase a frame for it, please let me know thank you.
Not sure they have what you want but I'd look here www.aquariumframeswholesale.com/
Guppy grass is great....just hard to keep alive sometimes. Shrimp love it!!!!!
It definitely seems to like some water better than others.
@@IansFishRoom always the darned water parameters....lol
Just be careful guys. Do what you wanna do but me personally I wouldn’t do it to a tank bigger than a 5g. Theres a reason why the black rims are there.
It definitely gets riskier the bigger the tank.
My rubber lip wouldnt eat french cut green beans.
Sometimes it takes a few times before they will start eating something new.
Hi great video can I use any wood from the garden or do I need to buy specific drift wood? Thanks
Some wood can actually be poisonous so if you don't know for sure I'd stick to driftwood.
@@IansFishRoom Thankyou will do
Still have mine from back in the day and i used the heck out of it. It works like a charm.
Look into barclaya. Easy but rare red plant.
These are very common in my area.
Thanks for the tips Ian, you rock brother 🙏🏽✌🏽❤️👑
Glad it was helpful!
Exactly what I was looking for to see if it was doable with my old 10 gallon. Thanks for making this!
Glad it was helpful!
I recently started selling Guppy Grass to my fishstore. He can't manage to grow it and people keep buying it from it so I sell it to him whole sale. I offer fishstorekeeper a fair price so that we can all profit 👍🏽
Nice!
How many days does it usually take to grow before you need to start trimming it or want to propagate it?
It often can take several weeks if it's new to your tank but it will propagate on its own once it's been more established. When it's growing well it will probably double in size every 3-4 weeks.
The efficiency win for python may be from the bigger hose circumference allowing higher volume of water to be removed.
I agree but also think it seals just a little better.
How deep in the substrate should this be planted
You can plant the stalk about 1in deep but try to keep the leaves above the substrate.
Can it grow in sand substrate? Is it a floating plant?
Technically it can grow in substrate but it always ends up floating
Can you make one with black panty hoes cover the mess so the fish cant see eachother or the fry cant swim through
Now show a 100 gallon tank with a harder frame...
Won't see me doing it.
I got mine yesterday and its pretty nice, the app works great and has the ability to group lights, so if you have 2 on a 75 for example you can control both as if it was a single light. I hope they dont abandon doing some updates to the app as it could use some small tweaks for example the moonlight scene is wayy to bright. Also the sunrise/sunset allows you to set a scene for the daylight times but not for the moon rise/set which would be handy as then you could use one of the user defined ones for color and brightness of your choice. Overall its a great light for the price and colors look way better, even the gravel looks better than other lights including the fluval 3.0.
A few tweaks to the app would be great but I agree the light looks pretty ggod.
Yes, the moon light scene is useless as it's super bright. Dis you notice that If you use the sunlight scene in the 8 time schedule it's not as bright. Oh and the 48 inch version doesn't produce as white of light as the 36" and below. I think the power supply is not powerful enough.
I put 2 on my 6ft but group control doesn't work which is a real pain 🤦♂️
How is the light working now as it's getting close to a year or so?
I'm still loving this light and happy with its quality.
@@IansFishRoomCool, I just ordered a couple :-) Thanks for the review. I first got some Fluval 3.0 but I kind of feel they are super overpriced as they don't seem that bright and the spectrum is a bit weird with no green or red just a weak pink LOL before I return the Fluval I will do some comparisions. I had the fluval next to a Hygger 957 and the 957 is brighter LOL
I think you will be happy with it. Hope you ordered through my link!
@@BassManStrikesI got a pair of these to try on my 6ft and for viewing pleasure there's no comparison, I'm replacing all my plant 3.0's with these. Currently though group control seems broken and I have to control each light individually.
Great video but is nobody gonna talk about the way he says vall sineria when it is actually vall i sneria.
That's a fair point.
So helpful. Thanks!!
You're welcome!
Where can I get these fish
I'd start with your local fish store. They should be able to order them. I got my from aquahuna.
Not sure how you water change the tank if that’s at the top ?
Small water changes but honestly if you want to really breed a lot of fish you need other grow out tanks.
Awesome
They are awesome little fish
Wow! I'm excited to try this. Thank you!
You're welcome! Check out my hygger vs python video before you buy!
Is it ok to grow in sand
You can grow it in sand but just make sure you're adding root tabs.
They love all sorts of veggies! Try experimenting sometimes.
Agreed
I have a giant pleco and want to put the driftwood in, but the water gets so grey
The driftwood will stop releasing tannins eventually but I personally like the look for some tanks.
@IansFishRoom know what? I haven't been able to balance my ph since I changed their tank, even with the water balancers and ph down. We have hard well water. Alot of limestone. I put the driftwood in and I think it helped! I have 2 goldfish, a 5 and 6" and the pleco is about 7". Glad I found this video.
just found your channel after buying and planting my first set of Valisneria, before now I just had java fern which I've accidentally grown a fair amount of since buying the original plant a year ago. Channel is great, presentation style is great, videos are enjoyable to watch, liked and subscribed = )
Thank you!
I would like to find out if the bottom stainless mess is removable- lets say like for egg scattering fish, but the black plastic part remains on the box itself
Love the scape, what size tank was this?
