I got a yj to daily to high school but it’s going to need some work

Good video. Makes me wanna keep my 99 TJ 2.5 with 9200 original miles. I was thinking about getting rid of it because it doesn’t have the 4.0 but I think I’ll keep it.

Great video! As a 4cl yj owner myself, as a DAILY DRIVER, I too would like to just maintain highway speeds haha. Can go 65 flat, but the moment a hill shows up, you are going 45. On the highway.

I have watched every diy highline video on YT yours by far is the best one out there. Your signal relocation has inspired me to do the same as well, good job guys. To the others take notes, yours are all just a little janky. These guys just about made it as clean as AEV expensive ones.

I'm the same mindset. YJ's are my favorite of all even over the cj's i have owned. I drive a 1995 yj Rio Grande daily. I have been fortunate no bondo, no rust no dents or dings. clear coat is peeling on the hood, so it gets new paint in may. But i will rebuild the motor and trans and keep it till i die. But i am on the other end of the spectrum. I find nothing good about the sound a 2.5 or a 4.0 makes. so i have gone to extremes to make mine as silent as possible. They simply sound like sewing machines about to blow up with loud exhaust, but to each his own. so far i just do not have the issues a lot of people seem to have with there 2.5's mine maintains 65-70 on the interstate even in 5th gear. i live in the foot hills so 5th does struggle from time to time, but for the most part it does great. I may have to drop into 4th to maintain 60 on some inclines, but other than that no issues. good looking jeep, hope you reach your new yj goals.

Let me tell you I’ve owned two YJ’s a 1990 that was totaled in a wreck ( which by the way if I had been in any other small 4x4 that day I more than likely would not be writing this comment rite now) and after that I bought a 1992 ( First year of the full roll cage) , there isn’t a Jeep being built today, with the exception of the gladiator that I would consider buying, all fluff and plastic, they are not what the old school Jeep’s felt like at all , to much centered around a plush ride🙄 and expensive extras .

I love the Jeep XJ so much, bought a new one to build. Most people will hate the plans I have for it but I want to put it on bags, with a widebody. Gonna be a sexy cruiser for sure.

Lol that is not even close to rusty, when replacing my body mounts I discovered that the top hat in the body was completely gone and the mount was just sitting in a rust hole. Anyway, no fun to fix. This all too relatable, I I have also fallen through ice and replaced brake lines and engine mounts. I love it.

"I just want to maintain speed on the highway" you will be doing much more than replacing the fan if that is your goal. You could always supercharge it like I did... lol

There's a lot of exhaust fumes. I'm worried about air pollution.

I'm seriously contemplating snatching up one of the 2010-2012 ones of these. The pricing is too good to pass up, and I can still put a hitch on for my dirtbike and fit my surfboard and snowboards. How could I not want this?? Outside of drive belt, plugs, oil tires and brakes.. are there any serious reliability problems with those years? My old grand cherokees were fucking tanks. Ran well passed 200k with only minor issues.

Mine is a white hardtop 92' 4cyl. My younger brother owned it before me. Nothing that I can say here could ever describe how reliable it has been in our family..
