I love tis song, and I was looking through the internet for a version where I could see the lyrics and a translation (sadly I don't speak Yiddish. My mother's parents did, but my father's didn't, so there was no yiddish spoken in our house). I came across this new version and absolutely loved it. Temma Schaechter did a fabulous job, and that whole performance was just magic. Wish I'd been there.

When I see what happens in Palestine this is very well thought of. Free Palestine from Israels opression!!

Wonderful!! So uplifting.

I do love yiddish, but this was a bit painful to listen to... The extra added syllables didn't fit the melody and you can hear several times where the timing becomes completely wrong when they have to add in that extra syllable for example when singing "dokh di zelbe!" and they don't quite have time to emphasize the last syllable before singing the first note on the next line.... Oy vey! Beethoven would not have liked the extra added syllables / notes in his work.
