how can we use them in the journal? just for decoration? what can we put inside? my brain has been stucked... 😄😄
No problem:) This is basically an item to make a page more interactive, interesting or decorative. How I use them in my junk journals is on pages that have a lot of pictures then I will paperclip this folder to the page with the date, places and events inside on a piece of paper. I also like to sew on both sides of the folder and use it as a pocket for smaller pieces of ephemera I have gathered from an adventure. I then just glue the back of the folder on 3 sides and then you have a double pocket one for a tag and the other for the ephemera or both for ephemera and then just journal around the pocket. I use them a lot with just a little piece of paper inside that has something I was grateful for that day and paperclip it in. Next, I use one of these folders in my daily planner. Post-it sticky notes have small rectangle papers that you can stick 4 in this folder, two on each side, and I write lists of gifts that I don't want my kid to see what I'm buying them or my husband especially around birthdays and Christmas. I haven't had one look inside the folder yet:) You can also sew papers inside the folder like a little booklet and tuck it in a pocket after you journal in it. If you had a mini picture printer 3x2 I know those pictures will fit inside and you can stick a picture down on one side and journal directly on the other side of the folder. I hope these few ideas will help. Good luck.
@@jenjournalswithjunk1054 wow thank you so much for all these wonderful ideas!!! 🥰🥰

Great ideas all around
No pun intended? Love this comment it makes me smile(all around) thanks. Have a great day!
Love those fabric tags
Thanks:)
This is adorable, Jen. I love that you are using little bits on your tag. I haven't fallen in love with "bling". These are perfect.
Awesome! Keep up the great work! You should use PromoSM!!! It will help you get your videos higher in the search results.
Hi Jen, oh my gosh, how brilliant is that? Using inked pattern paper for the look of old tape! Love it! Way better than inking real tape, I think, because I like the rough edges. And these envelopes are so stinking cute. Love the tags, too with the black stamps on the book page. Can’t wait to try. TFS 💖
loved this idea and will certainly be making these....im new to your channel,. you were recommended on my channel. thank you for sharing x
Welcome to this channel, I just subscribed to yours:), can't wait to see the ones you make. Have fun!
@@jenjournalswithjunk1054 aaahhh thank you, look forward to getting inspiration from you 😊
Awesome idea!! Looks very cute!
Very cute!! And I love that idea for using the coasters as bookplates!
Thanks. The coasters have that perfect thickness, in my opinion, to be used for bookplates. Enjoy!
Awesome ideas!! I bought some yo-yo's but hadn't actually used them for anything!
Thank you for the kind comment. It's addicting once you start playing with them so have fun going down the rabbit hole;)
I like the hidden yo-yo paper clip. Such cute ideas. I have been trying the 1” finished size. Can’t quite get it yet. I must be pulling the thread tighter, but so fun to make. I don’t have any circle dies but used a lid to a seasoning bottle as a pattern and just hand cut which really doesn’t take long.
Thanks. I don't think I've tried a 1" circle before I usually just stick with the 1 1/2 " circle. I'm like you it usually takes me a minute anytime I sew different sizes of yo-yos, especially the smaller ones, but once I get into a grove.......... It is SEW much fun:) pun intended:) What a great idea using a lid - for bigger ones that I make I also trace and cut them and your right it doesn't take that long. Happy stitchin'!
So sweet, Jen. I’m going to make these and send some to my crafting buddy who lives across the country! Thank you! 💖 BTW, I love your title page picture. It makes me happy looking at it. ☺️
Thank you and what a great idea to make some for your crafting buddy! That makes me so happy to hear that the picture brings you joy! I don't know what it is but junk journal supplies brings so much joy to my heart-I like to think that it's the simple pleasures of life. Have a great rest of your day and thanks for commenting!
These are really cute and great ideas
Thank you! I appreciate your comment. Have a great day!
So cute. Love the crochet hearts. 💖
Jen, wow! Another great idea for the coasters! Thank you for pointing this out. You are so sweet. I first saw this video on TV, so I couldn’t comment, but wanted to come back and say thanks for thinking of me. 💖. Such new, great ideas! Yay!
So glad you liked the idea! Hope you'll be able to use it in your journal making.
Hi Jen, you do an excellent job at explaining. In fact, I’m glad I watched because even though I have made some yo-yos, I like your point about having them lie flatter. So I will stop turning the hem. FYI. I have recommended your channel be shared on Robin Dudley Howes channel as she is wanting to help other channels grow. My favorite thing to use in my junk journals is... I don’t know if I have one favorite... lol. Uhhmmmm. Quotes! I enjoy using quotes that go with the theme of the journal. 💖
Thank you so much! It's amazing how much flatter the yo-yos lay when the hem isn't turned over. I find with my journals that they get bulky enough that I'm always looking for ways to make them more flat:) Thank you so much for thinking of my channel to recommend it it is much appreciated! I always find that my favorite thing to decorate my journal is whatever I am using at the time, so right now it's yo-yos. However, I love the idea of using quotes and you got me at themes:)
Thanks Jen, I can’t wait to get them. I make yo-yos as well but make mine bigger and have made a cover for my table and a toilet lid cover. I did not know about the quilters knot and the needle opening. So thank you sharing your knowledge. I love the way you organize your needles as I am constantly looking for the right needle. Also, I will be trying your method of the smaller yo-yos. I have always turned the edges over so they don’t lay as flat. Can’t wait to see how you use them.
Now I'm nervous:) I hope the ones I send you are up to par with the ones you make:) Wow, did those projects take some time to make? Amazing! I'm so glad you enjoyed the content of the video and will be posting another one tomorrow, Thursday May 27, 2021 to show you how I use them. Thanks for commenting.
Thanks for this tutorial. I’ve made yo-yos before but I got a couple good tips from you! 💙
Your welcome! So glad to hear there was useful information for a seasoned crafter. Enjoy making more yo-yos!
Thank you for the tutorial. I'm still learning and this was really helpful. I use buttons, because that is something I can get at a decent price. And my kids old clothes😄. Don't worry about the draw, I'm international. (South Africa).
So glad this was helpful! I also love using buttons and am always tempted to buy more at thrift stores when I see them:)
So cute!! Need to try this!
Thanks, it is a great way to use up some scraps:) Enjoy creating some of your own!

Sari silk can be expensive so you were very fortunate to get that big supply second hand. Great tip about cleaning your bone folder. Love the metal flat clips you found too. Any suggestions of where to find best deals on the stazon reinkers?
Since I live in a small area I buy most of my craft supplies online at amazon. However, if you are fortunate to live by a Michaels, Hobby lobby or a Joann's craft store, if they carry it, you could use a coupon to make your purchase. On Scrapbook.com Stazon Jet Black reinker is $5.85 which is the cheapest that I could find online. Hope that helps.
Nice use of scraps. Like the sewing elements as well. I have trouble with my machine handling the paper. Thought it might be a tension issue, have not found the correct setting yet. May have to use a thinner needle as well.
Thank you! When I first started using my sewing machine I had trouble with my settings as well so I took scrap pieces of scrapbook paper and just played with my machine settings. I then made a reference sheet that I keep hanging up beside me; I sewed a sample and then wrote all the info. beside it. I still have trouble with some paper but just do my best. I know all machines are different but I will let you know the settings that I keep my machine at most of the time so you can see if that will work for you - I use a denim needle in my machine for everything junk journal related, tension is at 3, length is at 4 and width is at 2 . Have fun playing!
So glad to see you back on. I have not seen the double bow you made. I liked that and will be trying it. Also, I had not heard about the generation stamping before. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have quite a bit of ribbon but no sori silk. Thank you.
Oh my gosh these are so cute! Wonderful instructions, thank you very much.
You're welcome! Thank you for commenting and letting me know you like them. Have fun creating your own.
Thank you for this very thorough tutorial. I appreciate you sharing so generously.
You're welcome! Have fun making some:) I love using these even in my day to day planner to hide my gift list for my family. No one has even thought to look in it yet. Shhhhhhh!
Nice video... #ready be good friend...
Thank you.
So glad to see you back. Sorry to hear of all your misfortunes but glad to hear you are well. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you, glad to be back. Have you been doing much crafting lately? Are you almost done for Christmas? Hope your doing well!
@@jenjournalswithjunk1054 , no haven’t been doing a whole lot, but have made two small junk journals with corona virus info and notes. Haven’t even thought of Christmas, as our son lives out of state, so it is up in the air. Cases are really high in Ohio. We are doing well, thank you for asking. Stay safe! I have made almost 50 masks for family and friends.
@@karenfrase9390 Great idea about making journals through this new time we are all living now! Adding you and your family to my prayer list for sure. However you celebrate Christmas this year, although different, I hope will be a special time for you all. After I made one mask I felt like a champion but 50 that's amazing! Take care and stay safe as well.
