Pokemon games should try to go for the difficulty level of the black 2 post game. Shit was peak
Mis-clicking (not sure that's how it's spelled, idk man 🥲) is one of my biggest pet peeves when I'm playing a video game, because I could've avoided it so easily if my STUPID finger didn't slip 😭😭
I definitely understand that. More of the buttons are "Yes" than "No", so I sometimes use what is considered "No" in other games and accidentally advance anyway.

I always thought rock beat ice because you can smash an ice cube with a boulder, similar to how you can smash an ice cube with a hammer, hence the steel weakness. I guess that's part of the trouble with thinking of an ice cube when designing the type attributes, then thinking of a glacier or tundra-dwelling creature when designing the pokémon themselves.

I was saying before that it seems the trouble with ice types is that their attributes scream glass cannon, but glass cannons need speed, and cold is literally an absence of speed, so logic dictates ice types shouldn't get it, and instead be big, slow tanks/walls, kind of like an iceberg. Not to mention, the ice type lends itself to creatures living in cold environments which usually need bulk to preserve heat, which of course also dictates they shouldn't be too quick. I was thinking that if rock gets solid rock to mitigate having so many weaknesses for a defensive type, maybe ice could get an equivalent. How much that would help, I'm not sure, but it certainly wouldn't hurt if someone comes up with another idea for a big, hefty ice creature they like but doesn't want to stymie the pokémon right out the gate.

Ice Body is kind of underwhelming imo. It'd be nice if it also gave an immunity to Ice type moves. It's already themed around absorbing ice so I think it makes sense. Being able to switch into popular Ice coverage moves and blocking Icy Winds could be quite useful. Plus there's no 'absorb element' ability for the Ice type yet. Most other 'classic RPG elements' have had one or more for a while now.
They DO have 2nd unique abilities. Its just that most of them arent as impactful as therion. Cyrus analyzes every enemy at the start of battle, Tressa finds money every map screen, H'aanit can capture beasts, Primrose and Ophelia can summon the people following you as part of their path action, and Alfyn can mix ingredients.

Steel should weak to psychic, dragon and electric. Norma should be weak to dragon and dark, and not weak to fighting. Norma should be super effective against bug and resist bug. Ghost should resist dark not be weak to it. Ghost is weak to fairy, fire and ghost. Bug should be super effective against it self, and resist psychic and dark. Fairy and grass should mutually resist one another. Poison should only be weak to water, grass and fire. It should be good against fighting and fairy. Electic should be weak to psychic.
You should make more types not very effective since there are very few resistances. It also balances out the new “neutral” interactions. I would estimate that 33% of supereffective interactions should be changed to not very effective. Also it needs a monkey type
If we make a monkey type, can we have a birb type as well?

You’d think this was common sense. Did a raid just now, guy used the 💀 primape. It floored everyone. Did one yesterday with happiney. I didn’t even get to use 1 move. 6star gone in 1 shot. Some folks just don’t get it

That guy is trash, so I wanted to make a better version that could at least attempt to do anything defensive.
A blade/sword/cutting type would make sense to me. Not every move that boosted by shapness would be blade type but normal moves like cut, slash, false swipe would be fitting. Mons like gallade, samurott, aegislash, sceptile, ceruledge, farfetchd, kartana etc would fit tge type very well. We also would finally have cut be super effective against grass.
Splitting water into water and boil might make sense, or at least as a subtype. It would be super effective against ice, include moves like scald, steam cannon and hydro steam, a lot of moves with burn, some mist/fog/vapor based status moves, phisical moves like hard boiled fist (since hard boiled means tough) etc.
since there's water and ice types, clearly we need a steam type to finish the phase transition

I always thought that a way to improve the bug type is making him a very evasive type, yes bug are small but some are very difficult ti kill as they evade a lot

People splitting Flying into Wind and Flying, while merging Ground and Rock or Water and Ice is quite the doozy, ngl.
Three extra resistances is definitely too much. But one or two is fine.
I’m gonna give Psychic a super-effective against Water instead and the reasoning being Humans purify bad water by boiling it or putting it through filters. We also dam and control water flows. We also drink it. Plus, according to myth we can bless it and holy beings like Jesus can walk on it.
Maybe make Dragon super-effective against Electric so at least one type is hit super-effectively for Dragon. Thematically? Dunno, maybe Dragons harness “pure energy” and so know how to channel electricity.
Psychic could use one more resist and Normal should gain a resist and a super-effective. While thematically I can imagine Normal being this to Fairy (a Normal being be unaware of magic) it’s hard to imagine this for Psychic. Maybe Psychic resists Poison. Rock and Ground not resisting themselves is weird but it may be a good thematic difference with Dragon and Ghost be super-effective against themselves. If I want to make the type chart, more “normal” then Rock and Ground should resist themselves. Bug should resist Ground. I used to think that either Grass and Bug (leaning more to Bug) should resist and be super-effective against Fairy, but only if Normal doesn’t.
I’d give Ice resistances to Water and Ground.
Types in Pokémon are also more like different energies that Pokémon can draw that they are not necessarily a part of. Like Flygon could be four types but it’s only two but it can still draw from closely related types. But Pokémon often take from far away types that only through a stretch could they really use and mostly for “balance” reasons (as if Pokémon has ever been balanced).
If rock types actually had good HP and special defense maybe they could also be good walls. Also, there could be more speedy rock types. I find it weird ground doesn’t resist itself.
Ice should resist water and ground.
Water and Ice should NOT be consolidated, otherwise sure

This is an interesting, ambituous and slightly confused project. On the one hand we add types and split types - on the other hand we merge Rock and ground, and water and ice.... I think these are at cross purposes - are we splitting types into more specific types ? Or are we broadening types? I think maybe you could do two separate projects - one maximal and one minimal. Or the minimalist challenge you could merge ghost and psychic into Spirit - and merge psychic and fairy into Magic. Normal and Bug can be Critter or beast type. Dark and Dragon can be merged into Predator type. etc. Dragon and fighting can be Power types. For Maximal types, you can split them even more gradually than you did in this system. Ground can be Sand and Soil, Rock can be Rock and Gem. Psyhcich can have cosmic, Fairy can be split into magic and light. poison can have toxins and disease. Plants can have plants and fungi. Normal can have homnid and beast.
I am NOT playing the game with a Predator Type
This is a democratic experient, I can't chose between these conflicting ideas. You as a voter, will have to choose and specify whether you believe it should be maximized and minimized, then specifically articulate how.
