They demonstrated their repentance by fasting, wearing sackcloth, and turning from their evil ways. The king of Nineveh also issued a decree, calling everyone to fast and pray, urging them to "call urgently on God" (Jonah 3:8). This collective act of humility and repentance moved God to show mercy. Jonah 3:10 tells us, "When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened." This story highlights the power of prayer and repentance. Despite their wickedness, the people of Nineveh were spared because they humbled themselves, prayed, and repented. It shows that no one is beyond the reach of God’s mercy if they genuinely turn to Him in repentance. Mordecai and the Jewish People The story of Mordecai and the Jewish people is found in the Book of Esther. During the reign of King Xerxes (Ahasuerus) of Persia, Haman, an enemy of the Jews, devised a plot to annihilate all the Jews in the empire. When Mordecai, a Jew and Esther’s cousin, learned of this plot, he responded by fasting, weeping, and praying. Esther 4:1-3 describes Mordecai's reaction: "When Mordecai learned of all that had been done, he tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and ashes, and went out into the city, wailing loudly and bitterly... In every province to which the edict and order of the king came, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting, weeping, and wailing. Many lay in sackcloth and ashes." Mordecai then urged Queen Esther to use her position to intervene on behalf of her people. Before taking action, Esther called for a three-day fast among the Jews: "Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish" (Esther 4:16). The fasting and prayers of the Jewish people, led by Mordecai and Esther, were crucial in turning the tide of their dire situation. God intervened in a miraculous way, and Haman's plot was foiled. The king issued a new decree that allowed the Jews to defend themselves, leading to their deliverance and the establishment of the Jewish festival of Purim, which commemorates this great salvation. Comparison and Conclusion Both the people of Nineveh and the Jewish people in the time of Mordecai illustrate the transformative power of prayer, fasting, and repentance. The Ninevites, although not originally God’s chosen people, were spared from destruction because they believed in God’s message and repented sincerely. On the other hand, the Jewish people, who were facing annihilation, turned to prayer and fasting, seeking God’s intervention through Esther’s courageous act. These stories teach that God is responsive to the prayers of those who humble themselves and seek His face, regardless of their prior standing with Him. Whether it is the repentance of a sinful city like Nineveh or the desperate plea of a threatened people like the Jews in Esther’s time, God’s mercy and deliverance are available to all who earnestly seek Him.

Praying According to God’s Will One of the key reasons for using Scripture in prayer is that it helps ensure we are praying according to God’s will. In 1 John 5:14-15, it is written, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us-whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked of Him." By incorporating Scripture into our prayers, we align our desires with God’s will, increasing the confidence that our prayers will be answered. The Power of God’s Word The Bible describes God’s Word as living and powerful. Hebrews 4:12 states, "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." When we pray using Scripture, we are wielding this powerful "sword of the Spirit" (Ephesians 6:17), which can have a profound impact on our spiritual battles and situations we face. Jesus’ Example in Prayer Jesus Himself used Scripture in His prayers and teachings. For example, when Jesus was tempted by Satan in the wilderness, He responded each time with, "It is written..." and then quoted Scripture (Matthew 4:1-11). This shows that even the Son of God relied on Scripture to counter the enemy’s attacks and to affirm His commitment to God’s will. If Jesus, who is our model in all things, used Scripture in His prayers and declarations, it suggests that incorporating God’s Word into our prayers is both important and powerful. Scripture as a Foundation for Faith Romans 10:17 tells us, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Our faith is strengthened and guided by the truths found in Scripture. When we pray using Scripture, we remind ourselves of God’s promises and build our faith in His ability to fulfill them. This is especially important when we face difficult situations or when our faith is tested, as praying with Scripture helps us stand firm on God’s promises. The Role of the Holy Spirit in Prayer While it is true that the Holy Spirit helps us pray even when we don’t know what to say (Romans 8:26-27), the Spirit often brings to mind Scriptures that apply to our situation or the things we are praying for. The Spirit uses the Word of God to guide and direct our prayers, ensuring they are aligned with God’s purposes. Thus, Scripture and the Holy Spirit work together in our prayer life. Conclusion While it is possible to pray without directly quoting Scripture, and God hears the prayers of His people regardless, using Scripture in prayer is a powerful way to ensure that our prayers are in line with God’s will, to build our faith, and to engage in spiritual warfare effectively. Scripture provides a solid foundation for our prayers, grounding them in the eternal truths of God’s Word. Therefore, incorporating Scripture into our prayers is a practice that can greatly enhance the depth and power of our communication with God.

Hear ye all the word of God through Abel Damina's teaching. What Abel Damina is preaching now has been my prayer over 35 years that I may live to see this day. The word of God has been strangulated for a long time, all these attacks on him has always been there from of old, beginning from the prophet. I had the opportunity to be close to all these "fathers in the lord" for they are all bunch of liars against our Lord Jesus Christ and his ministry. What Abel Damina is teaching is the Scripture while others teach out of their pot of soup. There is no doubt that the world is being ruled by the devil, that is why the church remains What they are, church of Satan and not the body of christ. Destroy this temple and I'll raise it in 3 days, this is the same they've restarted but the real church that Jesus built is what Abel Damina is preaching. That is why many don't understand, because he is preaching the ministry of Jesus after the former was destroyed so what Abel is teaching and preaching is Jesus's ministry through the disciples to us, though he is not getting it all right.
