In this episode, I share a special story about a chance encounter with Matt Pollard at the recent Goodwood Retro Rides event. Although I didn't know Matt beforehand, we sat down for lunch with him and his dad and quickly got lost in conversation.
It was a moment that truly highlighted the power of shared passions and the connections they create.
We are saddened by the loss of Matt, who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and he will be deeply missed in the motoring community.
Additionally, we take a wander around Retro Rides to take in all its glory.
We've decided to do no voiceover so as not to overshadow the true beauty of these incredible cars. Enjoy a relaxed episode and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of this amazing event. 👍

@surreyautoworks thanks for that, probably just me, but I find it hard to concentrate on what your saying and doing with the music playing all the way through. I had a mk 2 that I used for going to work in Aberdeen, a base model, not quick but reliable.

Stunning buggy! Am guessing with that engine it must have an impressive power to weight ratio. Would i be right in assuming it would weigh about 500kg and produce about 225 hp? Also 0-60 time must be very fast too!
Well, we actually have a video planned to come out tomorrow to show off its power output. Stay tuned👍 yes, we reckon around 600 kg in weight, so it has some impressive overtaking skills 😳😎

Historic vehicle?. I would question that, there is about 16 inches out of the floor pan and that definitely isn’t an original engine. The only way you could do that is with a ‘q’ plate which will never be tax or mot free.
Very valid point, however there is loopholes of when the vehicle was altered and we have proof it was registered as this beach buggy in 1971, with a shortened pan. The engine is another story. 😉
