No words, just a beautifully presented model of one of the greatest ships of any type to sail our oceans, may the CVN-65 forever be held in the memories of those who served aboard her, those who saw her immense beauty, and for those of us that have a fascination with anything of a military background, whether it be by sea, air or ground. I would love to see that in person one day. Cheers from Sydney Aus, and thank you for sharing it.

1:72 was probably selected because there are so many model airplanes in that scale. So it is a practical choice to make a big model, where one made around 1:48 scale airplanes might have been too big an aircraft carrier model.
Long ago the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago had a number of very large extremely well done U.S. Navy warships. Most or all of them seem no longer on display, but they now have a very large room with a vast number all manner of ships from all periods. Of course, their most impressive display is the U-505 submarine that is now displayed indoors.

The voice description was of CV 6, not CVN 65. I would love to see a model of the Ford class U.S.S. Enterprise.

I estimate it to be at least 6 metres (20 feet) long.
Why estimate when you can do the maths? She's 1123 feet long. Multiplying that by 12 gives you 13476 inches. Divide that by 72 scales it down to 187.16 inches. Divide that by 12 gives you 15.59 feet.
@@PenzancePete Or you could simply say 342 meters divided by 72 which gives 4,75 meters, way easier to understand

Except that Americans remain in the old imperial measurement system. The rest of the world is in Metric units.

31 anos depois olhando este vídeo...faltou ao Senna um pensar estratégico.Se o Prost tinha vantagem no campeonato caso acontecesse um acidente entre eles...era tentar a ultrapassagem numa parte do circuito mais favorável...mas , se não tivesse ocorrido tal situação...no campeonato de 90 não haveria o troco de Senna.Bons tempos que dava gosto colocar o despertador nas madrugadas de domingo.
