In this video you will see how I made a custom Tama SHREDTHEGNAR badge for @grantdickerson96 's Bell Brass replica drum project.
Thanks to Grant for providing the clip of the final product, it turned out great!
Here's the 1988 Yamaha SD493 Restoration: ua-cam.com/video/sQfeH4ctS7M/v-deo.html
If you're interested in a custom badge for your own drum, please email kevincraftedco@gmail.com, and maybe I can help you out.

1972 Eames Lounge Chair - Full Restoration
Переглядів 429 тис.4 місяці тому
This video features my full restoration of a vintage 1972 Charlton Eames-style lounge chair. I have wanted an Eames-style chair for a while, and this was a fun project to bring one back to life to my personal specifications. The restoration took 5 months to complete, and was the first time I had ever done any upholstery work. Thanks for watching. #restoration #eames #asmr 00:00 Intro 02:50 Meta...
1960s Oaklawn Camco Drum Set - Light Restoration
Переглядів 4 тис.10 місяців тому
In March 2023 this set of mid-late 1960s Camco drums from the Oaklawn era came up for sale near me, and I couldn't pass them up. They were already in great condition as-is, so this project was more of a light restoration/detailing to preserve originality. Since Camco drums are very rare and highly collectible, my goal was to breathe life back into these drums while making as few permanent chang...
1988 Yamaha SD493 Piccolo Brass Snare Drum - Restoration
Переглядів 42 тис.Рік тому
I purchased this Yamaha SD493 off of eBay as a restoration project, and it wound up being much more involved than I had anticipated. I made a huge mistake on the badge, and learned how to make a pretty good reproduction badge as a result. I thought this restoration would be a straight forward process, but this video does not properly convey how many hours of research and elbow grease went into ...
Turning a Cracked Cymbal Into Art
Переглядів 3 тис.3 роки тому
Took a cracked cymbal and turned it into a piece of art. Inspired by the broken cymbal art in the John Xepoleas drum studio: ua-cam.com/users/JohnXDrumLessons Zildjian cymbal purchased on eBay, has the "CO" stamp used from 1980-1994. "Greg Leigh" was inscribed in the underside of the bell. Beats: "Day and Dusk" by Nate Smith Process: -Polished -Drew design -Cut using rotary tool -Deburred -Shap...
"Creator" by Santigold - Double Drum Cover
Переглядів 1,7 тис.14 років тому
A recording/video project for Creator by Santogold. This is my first video project, I tried to take advantage of the two parts in the song going on at once.
Great job. Can only imagine the sense of satisfaction. Particularly enjoyed the cat inspection - an important part of any project, to be honest.
Thank you, I agree!
I sure don't like the "repair"of the wobble. Very amateuristic.
I didn't even realise how loud someone's backyard or terrace could be with all the tyre noise 😳
That is gorgeous! Great job. So satisfying to watch it happen.
Thank you!
The thing that impresses me most about the original is the fact that they used actual leather. Craftsmanship was important to the Eames', and I think they'd really love what you did with your restoration. Bravo
Thank you!
That wood base is amazingly good considering the age.
Buen trabajo.
Thanks!
Nice, but that tape at 26:22 is no good as a shim. Should have use thin metal such as a soda or soup can.
I thought the deal with these old Eames chairs is that they can delaminate without warning and you go boom. So maybe you have a $4k chair but it's a ticking time bomb.
This isn't an original.
That may have been one of it not the best Furniture Restorations I have ever seen on this site. Like Hand Tool Rescue Quality, I am not sure if you plan to do more and I know it takes a while, but Keep this kind of thing up. You Have a lot of talent for this kind of content! I am sure as hell subscribing.
Wow, thanks!
Better than new!
Nice restoration👍🏻😎 wear gloves and a mask, 100% new foam🤮
Thanks!
Leather color killed this project. So bad.
We had this at home growing up. Super cool merry go round watching cartoons!
Good you had patience to let the project unfold as it did. I think it turned out perhaps better than when new. Hope the cat respects your hard work. 👍👍👍
Thank you! She does!
Your finished chair made me smile. Thank You for uploading this.
Thank you!
You are awesome and super inspiring, I’m exited to see more restorations from you!
Thank you!
I don't think shimming that bottom part with tape is a good idea tbh,
You need more light on set. Camera sensor works at the noise limit. That's a shame, because the rest is actually really good. No music, no fast camera pans. The style reminds me of my favorite UA-cam channel @mymechanics
Yes, lighting was a huge issue for me throughout. And yes, @mymechanics is definitely my inspiration.
Impressive restauration ! The leather’s color is beautiful ! Bravo, it’s inspiring !
Thank you!
looks amazing with brass hoops and lugs !
Thanks, I agree!
My dream is to own one of these one day, even if it's just a replica one.
끝까지 잘 봤는데 의자에 신발신은 발 올리는거 보니까 너무 아쉽네요
I feel like I want to issue you a furniture challenge. Choosing the type of thing that can be bought for $50 or less, generally free on FB Marketplace. Restoring it and then editing it for your fancy.
That’d be fun, I’m always keeping an eye out for the next fun project.
@@KevinCrafted I guess the main thing I can think of on the top of my head is a TV Stand, one of the ones with tower cabinets on either side, and see how you transform it into a open desk space.
@@KevinCrafted i.pinimg.com/564x/37/3f/25/373f2550f0bccad57b929383cc444af4.jpg Making something like that, out of something like this, i.pinimg.com/564x/2e/fb/ea/2efbea1dd84f8483ce0382a3af9ce01b.jpg . The Entertainment Centers you see for free or super cheap on marketplace, with large towers either side and often enough a large flat piece on top. Would be cool to see you restore one of those and then alter it into a desk like that, in the look and style that best matches your personalty.
Real leather FTW. Love these kind of real restorations.
Thanks!
I just watch you spend countless hours restoring a chair to put masking tape on a high wear area.
Nice job!
Thank you!
You would be great at cleaning up crime scenes 👀
😅
I would've given up after unscrewing the whole thing...
Great job, snare looks awesome! I have a snare just like this. Where did you acquire the correct length snares for it?
Thanks! I got them from DCP. They're Pearl S025 Vintage Free Floating Snare Drum Wires 20-Strand
don't want to be crass but could i ask the value of this chair. amazing video
Where did you purchase the leather?
Weaver!
Trabalho com estofados a primeira vez que vejo lavar espuma 😖😖😖😖😖🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
A única coisa que não tirava, era a placa de identificação antiga para mostra a originalidade.
This is a joke! This is not a chair makeover. This is an amateur job. No it has nothing to do with the real renovation work.
Which "extended" snare is it please, model number, make etc? thank you in advance
The Pearl S025 Vintage Free Floating Snare Drum Wires 20-Strand, bought from DCP
sry but black is better ;0)
Very nice work, right up to the painter's tape to fix worn metal. If metal has worn away producing a wobble, how long do you think tape will last?
brown????????????????????????????????????????????????
Well Done!
Thank you!
what can i do with the wooden cladding came off in long, loose strips, and many of which were lost?
The veneer? You’d have to find a matching veneer and fill in the gaps.
Yes exactly! Large portions of it. Someone ripped them a lot cause they were detached 😢
Oh man other than the beautiful chair looks amazing I’m worried about the PICKLE JUICE smell ruining the relaxing experience
Haha there was no pickle juice, just used the jar

I’m always thoroughly impressed by restoration and furniture building like these. There’s so many practical and creative skills you have to throughly understand AND combine to make a truly great piece. Excellent work
Thank you!
Very nice. Well done
Thanks!
This is excellent work! I am going to restore a Pearl Session Elite kit and i believe some of the badges have been abused and was looking at replacement badges only to find they almost don't exist! Do you offer this as a service?
Thanks! Yes, someone hired me to make the Tama badge. Please email kevincraftedco@gmail.com with the details and I may be able to help.
@@KevinCrafted Thank you so much! I will get some photos and info together and email you when I can. Thanks again!
Um. Heh. A real Herman Miller Eames Lounge in top condition would be more like $5500 or more, depending on the base and trim and material, and add almost $2K for the matching ottoman. Upwards of $10,000. But not $800…
This is a replica, not an original Herman Miller
Fantastic work, looking forward to watching your next projects!
Thank you!
Would you want to sell the files you made for the badge? I have a 1998 recording custom kit that the badges got ruined on when refinishing
Hi Derek, we could work something out, please email me at kevincraftedco@gmail.com
Wow you stole my name 😂😂😂
Haha you’re right!
