85 Recharge and summer tips SD 480p
In this episode special needs tips to recharge and have a fun summer for everyone. One more week to go before schools are out! And woman, am I tired pfffff. Those last few weeks are always packed with stress. But this year really took the cake. So, I took out an old tool once taught to wonderboy, which helped me see when it’s time to recharge and how long I really need. On hectic times it is also so easy to forget to invest in couple time. Last week we unexpectedly had an evening without kiddo’s - and it was so nice… It was a good reminder to take more quality time together, and not wait until there are no kids around. Last tip is how to make a fun summer break for everyone. Especially when you have a kiddo that needs time to adjust.
Hope you have a great summer!
Stay sane 🧘 Stay happy 💃 mom.

That’s why this episode is all about - the need to - go off the grid every so often as a special needs mom and/or woman and why you should not have to say sorry for doing so. Or feel the need to say sorry for anything else for that matter, like your messy...

Special Needs Child: goal setting do’s and don’ts.
Переглядів 7Рік тому
Goal setting with your Special Needs Child. It’s a recipe for failure and low self-esteem: 1. Setting goals for your kid instead of with them. 2. Only setting goals focused on the outcome like high scores and being able to go to college and or university. 3. Compare your special needs child and decide how good your kid is doing, based on what their average peers can do. There are more roads tha...

Why you should have a dopamenu or happymenu for your special needs child and as special needs mom

Why you should have a dopamenu or happymenu for your special needs child and as special needs mom. A dopamenu or happymenu as I like to call it, is your instant guide to snap out of overwhelm, stress, when you’re stuck in your brain, when anxiety is taking over, can’t focus on your (home)work. It’s a really great life hack to rewire your brain. How it works? It’s kinda like a restaurant menu bu...

Do you set goals with your kids? We only set a goal when they needed help achieving something they had to master but struggled with. Gamifying it and rewarding the effort and not the outcome made all the difference!

First exercise my therapist gave me when I landed on her couch because I wanted to know how I could do a better job making my daughter happy (red flag anyone?): do nothing for 15 minutes everyday. What do you find the hardest thing you just have to do? Cleaning? Your finances? What hack do use? For me cleaning means listening to my favorite podcast or a new audiobook. Doing my finances (which I hate doing) means I can treat myself to something nice and in the meantime I break it down into mini tasks and listen to some serious good jazz.

Wonderboy's room is a mess... according to me. He sees a perfectly organized room. And when I tell him to clean up the Legos on the floor, he was completely overwhelmed. Because, where to begin? For starters I would indicate a color. And told him specifically what I ment with cleaning up. Doing it step by step and having very specific instructions made a huge deal. Found the tips useful? Do share and let me know! Have a golden tip yourself? Share below to help fellow supermoms struggling with keeping the room of their special needs child tidy.
