How do you do the roof lines through the number 9 decal? I tried a very sharp exacto blade but did not get a nice look at all. Also wondering what kind of material you use for the masking sheet that you put the white decals on? Great looking model that you did!

There is no cockpit door. It's an emergency escape panel. Thet when opened it falls off. Anyway, it's a nice build all the same. The RAF fighters had a cemi-gloss paint appearance not because they weren't a flat finish, it was because the pilots had the ground crew wax polish them for a slight edge in speed.

Cut your drive shaft in half. Glue the front half to the Tilton transmission bell on the engine, the rear half to the transaxle.

I just watched your first video, looks good so far. How is the kit ? I’ve been thinking about getting one. I didn’t have a good experience with the hobby boss tiger but the big andys kits were great, i just didn’t want to get into a nightmare without knowing it.

I like the way you built this! I have not successfully built one yet! Have had all kinds of fit issues. Would love to know what size wire and tubing you used for all the hoses and ignition wires?

I also found that the rims were a bugger to get onto the axles. I used the same mini brad hammer idea but ended up punching the mags out of the rim. I had to get a replacement for one which took for ever because DDA only deals with hobby shops. I ended up drilling out the mag on the second go round. I’ve done the sandman and hq now have the torana to do. Awesome job mate I’m glad I came across your channel

I used to own a Willys MB and watching this I recognized all of the parts I used to work on. Incredible detail. It could be a training aid for the jeep mechanics. Beauty bro.

Unfortunately not even remotely comparable to Tamiya's 1/12 scale BMW R80 model. The Italeri plastics are not of excellent quality as are the couplings and the various molding marks. Furthermore, for a model enthusiast like me there are many incorrect details such as the engine block, lack of filter (the circular filter from the BMW 2002 was used). The compass and many others are missing. Many details are out of scale. Look for the unfortunately rare Tamiya model and add the various home-made details as I am doing on mine and you will have a perfect model equal to the original. Happy modeling

It is so difficult to get the engine/transmission/radiators covers to look right….making a solid section look vented.

Love it! Few remarks. The rearview mirrors were a postwar addition. Love your solenoids and the wiring. Very good. Maybe remove the strap down points and replace with hollow ones (door handles you did do 👍). Also, the screw on the middle of the inside of the guns wasn’t there on the real thing. PMMS has a cool tip on how to avoid this. But enough moaning, it does not take away from the great overall build, enjoyed watching it. Thank you!

I recently purchased this myself, so thanks for these as I'll refer to them when I eventually get started on it. The tracks were something I was concerned about when I opened the box, their stiffness was a concern, but didn't think they'd be too loose as you demonstrated. I've also purchased Trumpeter's SdKfz 251/D, that has separate track links to construct the tracks so shouldn't have the same problem.
