Vid wasn’t boring mate xx…
My guy x
Are you from country Vic? Trying to place that accent.
Yessir, good pick. Outer suburban vic but close enough.
@@kyletremayne nice. You don't sound like you're constantly asking a question, so I knew it wasn't inner Melbourne haha. I was tossing up between country Vic & SA. The way I remember is coz I actually like hearing that accent, as opposed to Sydney or inner Melbourne 😂
Thanks for the reminder that base building is SUPPOSED to be boring
All good brother, unfortunately because of Strava these days I see too many people going crazy with training when they need to dial back and be safe.
When is the actual season and offseason?
Depends on your country, in Australia it’s roughly June to early September.
@@kyletremayne ah cool. Yep I’m in Australia too. I’ve reached out to clubs and membership is all year round but I can’t seem to find the actual ‘triathlon season’. Just wasn’t sure when athletes actually gave themselves time to train for races etc Keen to start hopefully this year!
There isn’t really one specifically , but for training sake I recommend picking a gap of 2-4 months at some point to take some recovery time and then developing weaknesses going into a new block of racing That’s awesome brother, if you are just getting into it give yourself a couple months (8-12 weeks) between races. As you develop fitness and build a strong base you will be able to specialise for various race distances quicker and race much more frequently.
@@kyletremayne thanks man! Planning to do a few enticers by end of year then build from there. Cheers!
Nice simple informative video
Thanks mate, glad it helped!
Appreciate the update mate - just getting the work done. Looking forward to hearing about what’s next for the calendar
Thanks for the support brother
Kyle do u mind sharing what did you have on your left wrist? Right side is the watch.. Left side? Somekind of sensor?
It’s a whoop strap. Used to track quite a few different health metrics but is more low profile than wearing a watch all the time.
@@kyletremayne Noted on that mate.. Will Google for more info 😃👍
Well done mate! Is this your 1st IM?
Thanks mate, second full distance but first in the pro field.
@@kyletremayne Super! All the best from your new follower from Malaysia! My little brother just finished his IM Cairnes yesterday 👏👏👍👍
@@marwanmahmud much appreciated, hope he was happy!
Thank you for sharing. I really love your video and wish you all the best in the future.
Thanks mate, appreciate the support
Absolutely smashed it!! Keen for your next race 🎉
awesome stuff! Keep grinding!
Appreciate it brother, will do!

Happens to the best of us
Congrats brother - wet suit is cleannnn
My guy
Amazing effort mate, good stuff!
Cheers legend
Well done Kyle! Legend
Cheers brother
Fantastic swim. Great lessons. Unfortunate bike. Looking forward to seeing what you do next!
Much appreciated, can’t blame anyone but myself. Might have to redeem myself in cairns before the offseason
Well done mate! So proud of you !
Thanks legend
To the next one! 💪💪
Always
Congrats on the race mate! Looking forward to hearing what’s next for you. I found my power to speed quite ordinary too with a 243 average and a 5:01 bike after a penalty. Will continue to do more work myself as well. Must be good to get your first pro race done. Well done mate
Thanks mate, might have a suss at cairns. Congrats on the age group win brother. Great time and closed with a pretty strong looking run. Awesome.
@@kyletremayne much appreciated mate! Stoked with it. Looking forward to following along your journey, thanks for making it public here
This is fire! Well done.
Appreciate it my guy

Such a weapon mate! Excited to see your vid post-race 👍🏼
I'd be curious on what you are eating in a day. I'm already struggling with getting in enough calories when going on a couple of bike rides a week Great video though, the grim color grading really puts some emphasis on the grind :D
Much appreciated brother. I got you, day of eating video will be coming soon.
Great work on the weekend mate. Looking forward to your race recap!
Thanks mate, was a rough day with a few things to iron out. Onto the next.
Keen to see how much you’re eating on a day like this! Massive day, and killed it.
Cheers brother, that video will be coming soon
I dont need an ironman to make me slow 😂😂
Neither do I brother, that’s why I’ve been relegated to long course
UFC Embedded Kyle Edition 🤌
My man understood what I was going for
Thanks for the video and content so far mate. Do you think the lack of speed is the same for swimming too? That the IM training blunts your top end there too?
Appreciate the support. Your swim speed definitely will be impacted as you become systemically less efficient at utilising glycogen. However, I am still unsure as to whether trying more aggressively to maintain top end swim speed is optimal even in an Ironman as from my research it seems that you will still burn a substantial amount of carbohydrate when glycogen stores are full (eg. at the start of your race), even at reasonably low intensity like in the Ironman swim. To me, this would imply that maintaining top end in the swim would make sense. From there it becomes are discussion about tissue specific mitochondrial/cellular adaptions and whether you can essentially be more anaerobic in the swim and then more aerobic on the bike and run. Apologies if I’m confusing, but in my opinion there are a lot of unanswered questions in sport science regarding how to best optimise our energy systems in endurance sport in general but especially the Ironman.
That’s my guy, K-Treezy
Great job Kyle. Can’t wait for the next video.
Me and my homies love sugar water
