Manila is becoming just like any other modern cities which have lost their invaluable cultural heritage. I still love to take walks around the old blocks in Manila that are hidden behind all these modernizations i.e. skyscrapers, glass office buildings, massive department stores, expensive bars and restaurants, etc. I wonder how long can the government maintain the genuine beauty of old Manila before the capitalists take over ?

What many Filipinos don't know Manila is the name of the province, the capital province also known as National Capital Region also known as Metro Manila and there are 16 cities in Manila Province and the capital city is Manila City. Just like Batangas Province, they have Batangas City as their capital, then there's Cavite Province and pinoys will assume Cavite City is the capital city but General Trias is the capital of Cavite. The were plans back then to make Quezon City as the Capital of Manila Province but it never pushed through. QC had many main government offices in QC and QC is the biggest city in Manila Province. As the for BGC, Eastwood City, ArcoviaCity, AseanCity, SMCity and the despicable city of Villar are actually Commercial Business Districts, developers marketed their CBD project as cities. SMDC was the first to call their business centers as cities and other developers started to call their projects as cities.
