A Message From Sam - "The Ballad of Kyle T. MaGatt"
Nothing fancy, but I have something important to tell you in the video. And yes, it’s in regard to my 9-minute animated short, which is still available at: ua-cam.com/video/dAHGVrSRHLs/v-deo.html
After you’ve heard my message, here’s what I didn’t mention in this video:
There was purposely no pursuit of festival laurels or awards due to the ongoing urgency of the pandemic and because of financial impracticalities. There was no crowdfunding for money during a pandemic for any reason whatsoever. There was no large cast and crew to help support getting the work out there. There was no PR department or marketing team actively promoting this piece. There were no big “influencers” actively supporting my piece. And quite psychologically, there was no “comfort barrier” that exists when you watch a topical work on your TV and don’t know the people who made it, versus when you’re connected to the person somehow and feel peer pressured that the person’s work is more a reflection of you than if you’d shared a clip from “Family Guy” or “South Park.”
If you still supported my work in some way despite the above -- which most people accomplished from Facebook and Vimeo -- THANK YOU!
If it seems like I’m overly grateful to everyone who has watched, responded, or shared my animated short, I promise you that my thanks are justified. Many of us don’t have the same support systems or privileges as others; especially when an otherwise innocent work is full of vinegar during divisive times. Or, if like me, we just come knocking at the door unannounced without prestige or a marketing blitz attached (yes, YOU are my marketing team).
I know that a lot of my creative friends from the various places I've lived purposely shy away from taking sides publicly. I can respect their reasons for it. I truly believe some of them would be shunned from opportunity if they supported my cartoon publicly, even with a disclaimer (particularly in southern Louisiana). Some people don't have the luxury or strength to do what they want without family, so-called friends, or "community" jumping down their throats.
Do you understand yet? Do you get it? Even in 2020? Because that's why I thank you for it.

WILL YOU UPLOAD THE MOVIE ALLREADY ????
The whole movie plz🙏🦋🤍
I saw this in the theater when it came out.just a babe!thanks.peace.
😂😂😂. Man he was wonderful 👍🏾. I want HER!!!! Is one of the greatest lines ever!!!
You know cousin, this. weighs heavily on my mind. All smart ass remarks aside, it is completely unlike you to call your fellow human being a maggot. Actually, most everything you've done has been out of character for you. What happened? I certainly haven't mistreated you. Did you think anything about you was a mystery to me? Consider where I lived and made my living for almost 20 years. Consider who my friends and colleagues were and what type of patients I cared for. Well....I'm waiting. You of all people used to be the soul of kindness.
Gee, Maybe time for this to be retired.
Gee Whiz, maybe in light of current events this has aged so badly you'd consider removing it.
Agent D undercover in Manhattan
This movie could NEVER be made today. The PC police would go into labor (according their "science", men too). Comedy gold, and I miss it.
The more she refuses him….The more he wants her, lessened learned Ladies
“Do you hate Perry’s wife?”🤣🤣🤣
I couldn't understand Bert Johnson. On the one hand he describes his daughter as his jewel, his treasure, etc, yet he wants her to get married to Arthur, a drunken playboy? He knows what Arthur is like.
OMG, I miss this man so, so much! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Such great fuckin shit my peeps. Excuse my French but as a 50 year old man they don't make movie's like this anyy
I want more than enough after you get a looped to walk into my dentist office
The acting in Arthur was really outstanding. Even the guy playing the drunk talking to Arthur at the bar did a fantastic job.
*this is a goner*
Easily one of my favorite Dudley Moore films (10 was the other). ARTHUR will always be a classic movie in my eyes!
WELL , DON'T MAKE A SCENE!!!😂
0:44 BAAAAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAAAA.
Arthur he does who he pleases...
Frank Sinatra said he felt sorry for people who didn't drink. Waking up in the morning is the best they'll feel all day.
Don't you hate Perry's wife?!?!
Those two play fantastic drunks! That glazed look in Arthur's eyes right before he yells "I want her!" is so realistic.
What money batch but I bet your pockets are hurting
Perry, you’re a dead man!😂
The blood, the guts, I gotta get lubed just to go into my office.😂😂😂
Can I come in? Do you hate Perry's wife? 😂😂😂😂
One of my favorite movies. Dudley Moore was a National Treasure. A brilliant actor. "Don't you hate Perry's wife!" Lol..Miss him. I love it when Hobsen defends him out in the waiting room..
One of best movies I have ever seen. Dudley Moore kills it..
When I was young I loved this film. When I went to college I’d watch it after a night out. It touched me in a way not many other films can. The performances from Dudley, Gielgud, Liza and the supporting cast, were great.
Since I saw that movie in 1981 we did a limo parties while calling them Arthur parties😂
This movies, although a comedy, has so many levels of lessons and emotions you can access without having to engage or endure though in real time that would otherwise make you feel uncomfortable if you had to talk seriously talk about them. I think you walk away a better person after watching it. Mr. Moore left us too soon.
I love the irony of someone screaming “DON’T MAKE A SCENE!” in a film. 😂
"Everybody's dancing here." More true today than ever. This movie when it came out was a sensation, I agree, anyone that hasn't seen it should watch it.
I love how Dudley Moore could play drunk and still move you with his sincere lines. "It's awful to be alone!" And, damn, he could really play the piano.
For real or in real life or in the movie?
I love Dudley Moore and his Character in this movie so much , that I wanted to name my son “Arthur”. Sadly, my son’s mother wouldn’t agree on it. Arthur is definitely my favorite movie of all time. No other movie is even close to being as good. RIP Dudley Moore.
$750,000,000.00 million is a low lottery jackpot. But his father saying they are all criminals 1:10 is a jackpot.
Why is that cylindrical object on the bar?
Probably fine wooden Scotch bottle storage for travel.
I had to show this movie to my wife just so she would understand half of the things me and my family say. “This is a goner” “Sometimes I just think funny things” “I bet you’ve never ran out of ice your whole life” “I’m talking SMALL” “Bathing is a lonely business - yes, except for fish” God if you haven’t seen this movie you must think my family is insane. We quote it so much. Within 5 minutes of watching my wife said “I understand your family a lot more now”
"Well dont make a scene", funniest part
He was great in Foul Play too!! That scene in his apartment stripping to Bee Gees Staying Alive lol
Arthur tells Hobson he cant face his father sober. Now i see why lol
I haven’t had a drink in a month. Oh my gooood! 😂😂😂😂
"Arthur... take my hand.." Arthur: "But that would leave you with only one!" Beautiful movie. I wish they still made movies... I miss them.
I loved that part with Susan. God, she was boring..lol. "Waiter..! My Doctor said I must have 10 drinks an hour" "Susan..do you mind if I take you home now? I have a headache.."😂😂
Love this movie...
Classic
She does spectacular things with a chicken...
Epic! Everything about this production is perfect! RIP Sir Dudley Moore! You will NEVER be forgotten! Ever!
The way he referred to Hobson as his father broke me 😢
Back when $750 million was good money.
