Looks amazing dude! I need to add a drone into my arsenal one day!
Let’s goooo
So sick. Great shots and video
Fire
Keep up the work, it looks amazing.
I love the feel of your videos!!
Thank you! I appreciate the support
I got pentax 6x7 this year.
What do you think? Do you like it?
@@bradenarchinuk I like it a lot. It is a bit of work, but in the end, it is worth it. I developed films at home, and it was challenging when I did color films. Those photos came out really great.
What kind of mic are you using?
Sony Tx650. It's a voice recorder but works great as a portable and discreet mic
Do you sell your prints off of Photo Vision? The prints you have on your website.
No I use PicTime who sources them from certain print shops, most popular being BayPhoto.
Braden, you're awesome. love the uique advice. Do you know where we can find what lenses master photographers of the pas used? Is there websites or resources for all filmic portrait lenses? Primarily, I love the Yousef Karsh, or or the Herman Goering portrait style. You know that painterly look... Oh btw, all vintage lenses need to be focused manually, is that right? Can't use our auto focus / meter on them? Also, did you capture the videos of Anna with the GFX 100s? And what else do you recommend for replicating film? Filters you use or suggest?
Thanks for commenting and supporting! Not sure of any websites off the top of my head. I could probably find some and let you know. Vintage lenses are typically manual focusing yes. You'd have to turn it with your hand and look through the viewfinder to make sure your focus is right. Takes practice but becomes easy after a bit. The videos I capture on my channel are with the Black Magi Pocket Cinema Camera 6K. Photos are taken with my GFX 100s! To replicate film, the best will always be shooting actual film (which I highly recommend, it's so much fun). If you want to take digital photos that look like film, you could use presets or profiles. I personally use the Archetype Process but I've heard good things about Mastin Labs. You could also use diffuser filters to add a softener to some of your images but I don't recommend that.
@@bradenarchinuk Thank you for those two colour filter apps. Such your channel is new, I would love to see a video about your journey, your favorite photographers, and who and what resources you used to get started, looking back. That would be useful for newbies and easy follows. I look forward to your next video.
dude, you're awesome. love the advice.
Thanks man! Gonna reply to your other comments here in a little bit
I love your content, very high quality and informative. Have you thought we can do for getting large format quality (400mp-700+mp) in film or digital? It's ben 49 years since digital took over, and yet the best we can do is Phase One 150MP with a shity 24mm fixed lens, or a Fuji 100MP with a 400MP multiple shot for still / archival. It seesm if we want wall prints, the only solution is to lug around a 30lb large format, but what a hassle. Do you see any know of any unconventional solutions? Have you tried printing a 100MP poster, I think you should do a video on your Fuji as to how large prints would looks, from poster, wall sized, to billboard. Get Fuji to sponsor and print houses. I am betting on you.
I mean, if you leave something on the side of the road, especially on a curb that’s on you… lol most people when they see something on a curb go oh cool, free stuff lol
Oh totally haha, it was my fault for leaving it there. Just wish people left it alone 😂
Braden, what camera did you record this video with? Looks amazing in motion.
It was the Black Magic Pocket Cinema 6K! A beautiful camera 👌🏼
The portraits were amazing dude!
Thanks man! Glad you liked them 👌🏼
Ooooof that’s brutal 😂
Love the tone of this video. Your work is amazing!
Thank you! 🙌🏼
wonderful shots! and the colors 😍😍
and you sold me this 55mm lens!!
Glad you liked the video. The lens is incredible
Got some amazing shots!
Thanks man!
Booked a trip there because of this video 😤
I've been seeing insane deals all month, definitely a good time to book a trip haha
Incredible shots! Can’t wait to get a print
I put the link in the description to buy one 👌🏼
Skin tone looks better on Hassy. Can always put softening filter or in post to soften pics. Fuji gives more red on skin. Red on skin is a digital thing that didn’t happen with film and the 3 layers of color of film. But happens on most bayer system
why shoot fuji wide open all the time? not a consistent comparison :(
Never understood these pretentious engagement/pre wedding shoots. Yes, it’s more revenue for the photographer but so cringeworthy when people look back at them in the future. People will be asking “Why you walking around in the desert with ya best clobber on?” 😂
Hard to compare these cameras when there is a lut thrown on them.
I’m gonna buy a DJI mini 1!
These shots are exceptional
What was it like manual focusing? Did you use any specific focusing settings in the camera?
Focusing wasn't too bad. I tried using focus peaking first and that honestly messed me up more than manually focusing. I'd say looking through the viewfinder you would be able to nail focus a majority of the time. I learned photography with manual focus shooting film so I felt like it was pretty easy!
Fuji glass has much more character
Agreed! Hasselblad lenses felt very clinical to me
The quality of these photos are so great. May I ask where you get them developed and if you edit them?(:
Thanks! Recently decided to try Nice Film club in New York and really liked the quality & scans. I did edit them in Lightroom!
The reason I prefer the film over digital camera is that the computer doesnt always get what I want to photograph such as the one on 4:35 where it blurs the background. Now, It may may be that he set it to do that. That doesnt mean that I would not use it and just play with the settings until I got a pic that I liked. I also like the longevity of the film that it cant just disappear due to a hard drive failure or mistakenly deleting a folder. On my S5 phone, I don not like how sunsets where there is a salmon colored hue to the clouds is recorded as a brightness of goldish yellow. I think film would recreate that with more fidelity given the experience of using that and knowing how the camera settings would influence the brightness of the final image.
it's only because two autists don't understand how to compare cameras:)
I love the part about being able to ask strangers and friends to use it. That's cool, too. Good news about the scans. I like that.
Thanks Chris!
very good shots! first video of yours i have seen and instantly subbed!
Thanks for watching & for the sub! I appreciate it! More to come very soon 👌🏼
Too clean of shots! Love seeing cheap photography gear and the art you can make with it!
Thanks man! You should pick up a point and shoot camera! You'd probably love it.
These pics go hard😤
It was all you bro
I’ve always been a huge fan of hasselblad EL/M and the CM variant. Then Again I’ve never owned one and am wistfully thinking lmao
Good stuff, I'm a professional photographer/videographer out of Southern California. My company sent me to Arizona to film Prescott, but I've been trying to get back to making content for my UA-cam. If you'd ever want to collaborate in the future, I'd be open to it. Ever been to Amboy crater? Been wanting to explore it (when it's not 120f) I'll probably go as soon as it cools down. Great footage!
Thanks for the comment! I just moved to Southern California from Arizona so that would be a lot of fun! Haven't been to Amboy Crater, didn't even know it existed! Good to know
Thanks for the wonderful video. I love the images with the snow on the craters. It's been 115 down in the valley, so it would be a great time to drive up to Flagstaff and the volcanic field.
Thanks Richard!
Is this a movie???
I was actually considering making a documentary film about this place with experts talking about the history of it rather than me! Guess we'll see haha. Thanks for the support!
Cook
Amazing info plus the sunrise and golden hour images are 🔥☀️
Thanks!

Awesome video man, love the shots. What is that rad little pen mic you're using for audio? Looks like it would be really slick to have in my bag.
Hey! Thanks for watching. It's a Sony TX650 voice recorder but I think they have a newer version called the Sony ICD-TX660. Quality is surprisingly very good, only sucky thing is having to sync it up to the footage in post since it doesn't connect to the camera like other mics do
there's some banding on the GFX but seems the 4x5 doesn't have that, otherwise it's hard to say there are benefits for the 4x5 film i hope more people start making large format digital cameras
One thing about editing Hasselblad RAW files is the software using it. I used to use Lightroom Classic for it and couldn’t seem to find the look that I wanted, then I started using Hasselblad’s editing software, Phocus. The software has some learning curve to it, but once you get the hang of it, it just processes the files differently.
My du ass who bought an Argus 75
I have a 1955 German Medium format camera. I never shot with one but I will still recommend it. Idk the model name but you can find it by searching “vintage 1955 braun reporter box camera” it has the word “Reporter” on the front.
Very nice
Beautiful footage and amazing video!!
