These Speedcubers Are BREAKING One Handed...
It just got released on September 30 2024 (yesterday) and I'm gonna get one.
Davis Jessica Rodriguez Karen Miller Patricia
Why don’t they just start with the timer behind the cube? Then sliding would be impossible
You got yourself a sub!
Just use 4-pad jeez
i cannot lie all this hate directed at yiheng is only due to the fact that we cant accept how much better than every other cuber he is. leave him alone hes literally nine years old
Bruh why can’t people just be happy for people
not about that. if yiheng got a legal average with normal starts and stops, the whole community will have nothing against him. if you wanna get a record and have people be happy for you, you have to do it legally
They use roux
There is so many things wrong with this video. A fair amount of the information is outright wrong, and singeling out Edward Hollingdale at the end is completely unncesairy. I suggest you take this down, as this just seems like a cheap attempt at misinforming the community while baiting some clicks. No disrespect, I am just very much against clickbait, especially when you are misinforming, and especially when you are launching some personal attacks like you did.
What information is outright wrong ? We are in the right to inform the community about a serious issue for the future of the discipline especially when there is so much questioning about sliding itself. Edward Hollingdale is currently officially the person at the top of the WCA hierarchy. He, as a result, is responsible and must be held accountable for all activities of all the different committees. This is in no way a personal attack on him but rather on the organization he is in charge of and represents.
Some remakrs you made that are incorrect include, but are not limited too. - Presenting the preferential treatment as if it is a fact - Not presenting the nuances between people that have slid recently - Claims with absolute no basis You have every right to inform people. But you are incorrectly informing people. Which is the opposite of what you supposedly are trying to achieve. Also, just to show your pure ignoranec. I delibirately said the name of the person in the picture incorrectly. That is not edward hollingdale, that is Ethan Pride. Which just shows to me the little research you have done on this. He is the top of the WCA hierarchy, yes, but he is not responsible, and he can't and should not be held accountable for any actions the other committees make, that is just a foolish claim. Lastly, you are saying it is not a personal attack, yet you have his face on the entire screen. If you really want to make a quality informative video, without throwing personal attacks, I would suggest to take this video down, do some more research, and then remake the video. Because anyone that has the slight bit of knowledge on the whole sliding situation can tell that research is something you did not do, and anyone that does not know about the sliding situation is being outright misinformed by you.
We can tell that you do not enjoy the way we have portrayed current events on a topic that matters a lot of for you. No facts are incorrect in this video although this is what you stated. You have the right to not agree with the way we framed Yiheng’s treatment or other events in the videos but again we have the right to provide our perspective on the matter. Indeed that is Ethan Pride, why did you mistakenly use Edward Hollindgale’s name in your first comment ? We understand that as avid 2x2 fan and competitor you might not agree with all the choices made in this video. However, you are not the target audience for this type of content. We suggest you focus on competitive speedcubing as your understanding of online content creation appears to be limited.
you are spreading miss information. wca does care, and they aren't silent about it, they have state that DNF can only happen live, and not after the fact through video analysis
Solves have been DNFed or penalized in some way retroactively in the past by the WCA. If an unfair advantage was gained and only noticed after the fact the solve can and will still be DNFed.
Yes, but only if it can be seen in real time.
why is sliding even considered bad? just let people slide smh
i think sliding should be allowed but the thing is people who cubed before sliding was popularized didnt know and its kinda unfair
I’m just thinking: just let them slide
Imo 4-pad is the solution. What‘s the point of having regulations that can‘t be enforced if violated. A lot of judges are jung kids and even for an experienced judge it‘s hard to look at the stopwatch and the start of the solve at the same time. It‘s also silly that they won’t use video evidence in this case when they used it in another case this year that got a cuber banned. If they let this record stand and don’t do anything about the sliding problem 2x2 is officially a joke event and Hassan demonstrated that.
Hi again <3
I have been wondering if it's possible to do sliding "safer". I mean like moving your hands forwards but so that your hands completely take of the timer.
A lot of people are suggesting to switch to 4-Pad mode to solve this, which although that would work, this may have the same affect as the speedstacking community, since they had to reset their entire leaderboard, and this killed them in the long run. Although i suppose some can say that cubing ≠ speedstacking and that it could help, who knows exactly tbh
The perfect solution would a mod of gen5 or a new timer that would allow for 4pad start 2pad end. But idk if it is viable
I don't think sliding dnfs. Only if the competitor turns while touching the timer.
yes but it should result in +2s or +4s for illegal start
@@niglehatesclock "for a time solve, the worst possible result is a DNF (did bot finish)" better to have +4 than DNF
i dont consider myself world class at 2x2 but at home i average 1.6 and with sliding i could average almost 1.00. its just absurd and it needs to be banned otherwise it becomes a sliding competitin instead if a speecubing competition (nice video!)
Yeah exactly. Sliding is way too overpowered.
Nah it’s the other way around. With sliding it gets closer to measuring the actual speed of them solving the cube as opposed to them picking up + solving the cube.
Bro stfu he isn't sliding now. The 2x2 record was so long ago and you mention it at the time after his new 4.09 wr to spread false info??
Not that its a big problem, he would prob still get the wr at some point knowing he can get sub 1s without 4 movers.
yihneg doesnt get special treatment, the problem is just that yiheng slides to well. He does it so fast that you cant see it in real time and only if you analyze footage afterwards. The wca has already set the precedent that a solve will not be disqualified for something you can only see if go through footage frame by frame as it would discourage people from recording their solves at all. The wca is actually very fair, it is just a very diffuclt situation to deal with, that has no clear anwser.
isn’t that the problem? they need to find a solution to ban sliding else it becomes who can hide their slides best rather than who can solve the cube fastest
@@niglehatesclock i can agree with that, my point is that yiheng is NOT beings treated better than anyone else. It is not like they see his sliding during the solve and just let it go as the video makes it sound. I think it us wrong to say that the wca picks favorites as said in the video. As how to solve the sliding problem i dont really know.
people dont notice it either way, hassan proved it and his solved was dnfed in hindsight. to me that seems like special treatment
@@eawcuber2985 tbf hassans slide is very visible in real time, but that doesn’t change the fact that a slide is a slide amd should be penalised either way
@@niglehatesclock so is yiheng, just less noticeable, either way the wrc decided not to dnf based on the claim that the judge didnt notice. Besides, the wca for some reason shows a ton of favoritism towards china, like for example them not having taiwan as a country and instead its chinese taipei now.
Can someone please explain to me what sliding is?
It is a way of starting the timer where the hands of the competitors slide to only actually start the timer when the last contact point being the wrists leave the timer. In this time the competitor has already picked-up the cube essentially removing pickup time as the timer has not yet started.
wtf is sliding
It is a way of starting the timer where the hands of the competitors slide to only actually start the timer when the last contact point being the wrists leave the timer. In this time the competitor has already picked-up the cube essentially removing pickup time as the timer has not yet started.
Yea, abuse the YiHeng situation for views while you can! Gogogo
I think the tape solution is best, cus no sliding and cheap
Hassan did more than just slide though, he did 10 moves before starting the timer
Sliding does make a cuber have a faster time (not necessarily that they actually improve), but it is quite illegal. The way to deal with this is to adjust the settings of the G5 timer (make it a 4-pad timer), or like you said, film every solve. I’ve watched some of Yiheng’s 3x3 solves, and those should have been DNF. But anyways, it is up to the WCA to change the rules (be legal and fair or breaking records by cheating)
Best solution to solve this problem is to ban intentional start or stop stop of the timer that will give you an advantage, and if it's not intentional it should be fine. It still can be abused, but would make it less of a problem
But how do you deterime intention? And imo sliding is always intentional.
@@curiousNic I meant that sliding is illegal, but timer stops which look fine at first, but at illegal while looking frame by frame should be fine
Imagine if Yiheng gets banned from being too good
imagine if yihengs gets banned for breaking the rules / cheating
Tyson Mao suggested just having the cube start elevated from the timer, like sitting on top of a book. That might be enough to prevent sliding?
ideal solution is 4 pad start 2 pad stop, but its expemsive to make a new timer so we should just switch to 4 pad. problem here is what to do with past results. another solution is to allow frame by frame to penalise slides. allowing slide is not viable as then people can do like 5 moves before timer starts which is what hassan did, thats why it was dnfed
The yiheng case is actually correct for the regulations, as judjes didn't notice that yiheng was sliding and wca says that checking solves frame by frame to see if the solve was clean or not doesn't change the result
The kalindu case is actually correct for the regulations, as its delegate discretion what techniques you use to find optimal and wca says that you cant penalize for reg violations not seen in real time
Isn't this the same thing that just happened to Hassan, and they dnfed him
@@CXLVII hassan slid way more than yiheng and it was obvious which is why they dnfed it, still does not mean they shouldnt dnf yiheng’s solve
@@CXLVII i don't know for sure but maybe the judje saw that he was sliding so he dnfed his solve?
According to the scorecard it didn’t count as DNF tho, they must have been checked the video hence eventually giving the 4th solve a DNF, which is still quite confusing to me
Yiheng don’t need to slide he fast enough 😅
I think the 4 pad solution might be the best. The smart cube idea is absolutely terrible on the other hand🤣
same, the thing is that there are countries that still use G4 timers
the 4 pad way seams good in hindsight but everyones used to it being 2 pad and 80+% of the time people will forget and try 2 pad way only to realise after it didn't stop to then press the 2 extra pads thus leading to a slower time
@@therubiksrizzler I mean I get that but what's the better solution?
@@therubiksrizzler i think You don't need the 4-pad to stop the timer
@@Shaquille69355 i think using a strip of tape or sandpaper around the edge of the pad would work
What Is The Best Solution To Deal With Sliding ??
Do I need to buy a G5 Timer to go to a comp?
@@CubingForEveryone no, not at all, u only need ur own cubes, and make sure they arent carbon fiber, and if ur doin blind they cant have a logo and assuming ots ur first competition u also need an official identification with photo and thats all
I think the best solution is to have a 4 pad start and a 2 pad stop
@@CubingForEveryone no
Let it slide (get it)
just put the damn 4-pad in officially its not that hard
Could definitely be an option !
amen brother
bro 💀
if there would be an option to start with 4pad and stop normally it would bo good
@@skewbenjoyer yea but even 4pad stop would be fine tbh
SCS can buy as much representation and advertising as they want and still never come close to being as good as the cubicle, always been this way, always will be, the cubicle actually creates new products in the form of lubes and cube innovations, almost everything being used in your favorite cubes today were invented by people like Chris Tran from the cubicle many years ago, they created magnetic cubes which EVERYONE uses now, they came up with maglev way before it was ever tried in mass production, so long ago that people thought these mass produced maglev cubes were the first to come up with the idea, people just forgot about it, they always were and still are a step ahead of SCS in every possible way, the premium cubes are always better from the cubicle mainly because they actually know how to set up cubes (SCS showed in their own ad that they think lubing a cube is just for making it feel nice which is hilarious in hindsight", coated cubes were also invented by the cubicle many years ago, which brings me to the main reason I really dislike SCS and think that anyone who supports them has no reason besides monetary gain from advocating for them, the thing that SCS loves to do is wait for the cubicle to create a genius innovation, often in the form of lube, then rush to trying to copy their product and sell it days later as if it was their creation, COUNTLESS TIMES they have been known to do this and it's so blatantly obvious at this point, Lunar was an attempt of copying Lubicle-1 and managed to be nothing like it, instead Lunar is just a very boring sillicone and just feels like martian but less effective and not green, it also doesn't have the same plastic repairing properties as Lubicle-1, DNM-37 which is probably the greatest lube ever made that has existed since about 2017, the main selling point of the lube is that it makes cubes super fast without the issue of the lube drying out quickly, this is a water based lube which is important to note that for even years after was never once in a SCS lube, all SCS ever made was just slightly different sillicones, they just stuck to what they were comfortable with always until the cubicle did the hard work for them always, it wasn't until after the pandemic in either 2022 or 2023 that suddenly SCS decided it was time to just straight up try and copy DNM-37 and just give it a space name with a pink color, this is how we got the first and still only water based SCS lube to date called Stardust, and in comparison to what it was trying to be (basically exactly DNM-37) it failed so bad, it's just fancy looking maru lube in reality, they just found the whole science behind DNM-37 and its water retentive properties to be far too difficult to mimic and just made a thin water based lube, dyed it pink, and named it Stardust because oooooh space, the fact that J perm made a video about it titled "my cube's are now faster than the speed of light" shows that people who only buy from SCS like him literally did not touch a water based lube or anything that wasn't sillicone based until SCS released stardust, suddenly they think the lube is amazing or smth, in reality it's the first time they use a lube that actually does anything to increase the speed of the cube, every other SCS lube either does nothing or makes the cube slower, which brings us to when they tried to copy Compound X, Compound X is water based and control oriented, amazing stuff, came out in 2018, in 2022 SCS tries to copy it with.... sillicone, with the name "Controlius" ooooooh fancy, not only is the name very blatantly suggestive to the fact it's just straight up ripping off the cubicle, but even the color of the lube is attempting to be borderline indistinguishable between the two lubes, only thing they didn't try to copy was the smell of X, ironic since the two compound lubes were the first cubicle lubes to try that when that was always smth SCS was doing, i could go on and on but I dont want to keep typing right now.... vortex was an attempt to copy lubicle black, the pvc coating is an attempt to be as special as the boron treated cubes, the dayan coated cubes, and the polymer coated cubes, all of which are far more innovative and useful than the pvc coating which j perm has an absurdly biased feeling towards, again this is the youtuber that contradicts himself almost everytime he says anything and it makes me wonder how he is seen as a role model for cubers when he doesnt even seem to know how to make up his mind, he is also lazy and constantly judges cubes based on purely out of the box performance which is straight up disingenuous and an unfair review, he constantly talks bad about really good cubes if they dont allow him to do sloppy dumb left handed fingertricks and weird algs with random finger drags and reverse pushes to try and show off for his ego, many cubes he says are bad are really really good cubes but since he is a horrible turner he hates every single one of those cubes that doesnt just let you turn like a noncuber and expect nothing bad to come from it, even the cosmic cubes and supernova cubes came after cubicle released early versions of their premium lines of cubes, again just copying the cubicle, thats all im going to say, clearly you can tell I really hate j perm and SCS for many reasons.
Tymon is now using the Gan 15 and I think Leo aswell
The price just got leaked it's $84.99
I dont see them as giving up on 3x3, i just think theyre appealing to an different market of speedcubes Flagship cubes are great, but maybe not everyone wants the 100th top of the line 3x3 thats very refined, some people may want a cube thats fun to use and to mess around with, which seems to be the case with the EST. Its not a competitive flagship cube, it doesnt perform excellently, but it has some weird interesting features that other cubes dont have, and (seems like) a weird interesting feel and look I think their objective with their 3x3s is to make something unusual but usable, kinda like the peak cube and maybe the zhilong (in the sense that none of them are competitive, but theyre fun to turn and mess around with) But i definitely think its an interesting topic to talk about
1:03 that cube is wroooongggg😭
Honest message to YJ I know that the cubes is like decent but i kinda like the MGC lineup, its amazing for a mid-range cubes, the square-1 is one of the best, but time has past, more cubes are being much better like vin4x4 for the 4x4,gan 562m for 5x5,aoshi wrm for 6x6,aofu wrm for 7x7,also not to insult but it's 3x3 is kinda bad in todays standards,we have something like rs3m v5,wrm v10,guhong pro,btw the cubes are all good
I've got it, and there are just so many corner twists and bad corner cutting
I kinda like this one. it turns weird but oddly fast and smooth. ps. it is designed by the designer of the legendary Alpha (Type A) series cube.
Oh wow really. That’s interesting ! When did you get to try it ??
@@TotalSpeedcubingProductions I am in china and i get it as soon as it released. So I've been use mine for a week.

YJ is taking a turn that goes to the weird side, for 3x3. The Appari wasn’t that great, and their latest, the EST, is just stupid and weird ngl.
