Thank you! 🌻Have a very Merry Christmas! 🎄
Can you tell me how these are used in the microwave? Do you warm them up at the same you warm up your bowl of soup etc?
Yes. I put my bowl of soup in it and then tuck it in the microwave. Typically I do that for the bowls that don’t have handles. I have soup bowls with handles on them. So those I tend to put in the cozy after I heat things up.
I think they look nicer if the corners are⅕ slightly rounded. You can do it just before turning right side out. Also rounding makes it easier to turn out. ❤❤
Thank you for sharing! 🌻
It should also be large enough to hold a small plate for the snack.
Thank you for sharing !🌻
Ive got a new janome 740dc sewing mach
Yeah! How exciting! Thank you for sharing! 🌻
Did you make your blouse❤
It is from Brora. It’s a British brand. They also have some lovely cashmere pieces.
Can you tell me the brand, Type and thickness of batting that you’re using? I feel like the wrap and zap that I use is thicker and I really have a tough time in the corners
I have had it for so long I have forgotten I bought it in a large bulk. I have some that I got that is thin. Some ideas, you could trim your corners before turning it right side out or pull on the corners before you start which will thin out the corners. You would want to square the corners up. If I find the names I’ll let you know. Thank you for watching.🌻
Can you tell me what kind of batting you use the brand and how thick it is because I think the wrap and zap I use is thicker than what you’re using and so it’s pretty tough to sew in those corners.
I use Warm and Natural in 100% cotton it’s about an 1/8” thick . I also have used Hobbs 100% cotton batting that is less than 1/8” thick. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching. 🌻
Gonna try this, thank you.🇨🇦
Thank you for sharing and watchingI hope you enjoy the technique! 🌻

I'm curious about the house quilt over the rosy red sofa. The colors are charming.
If its not a quilt, it could be one...
It is a Laura Heine quilt collage pattern called Spanish Row Houses. I got the kit for a class I took on how to do her collage technique. It was a lot of fun! Here is the link to the kit if you want to check it out. Thank you for watching!🌻 www.fiberworks-heine.com/shop/c/p/Spanish-Row-Houses-Collage-Quilt-Kit-by-Laura-Heine-x58619635.htm
It is a quilt, made with using the collage technique.
@@ginnielynn Its adorable and I've been wanting to try one of her patterns...couldn't decide because there are so many good ones. Thanks for getting back to me.
Yes. There are a lot of pretty ones! If you pick one do share. Happy Quilting!🌻
Great quick projects. Thanks!
Thank you! So happy to hear you liked them! Thank you for watching!🌻
Very true and something I avoided for a long time. It's when I decided I needed to finish my own quilts instead of sending them to a longarmer that they started piling up,..quilt tops and backings. What I miss is that feeling of satisfaction I get when I have a beautiful finished quilt that I can show or just enjoy looking at. It has become very stressful.
It is a very satisfying feeling to finish a quilt! It does feel stressful to have them all sitting there. I have a few that are waiting as well. Thank you for sharing and watching! 🌻
It's the same for me. At first, it seems like I have all the time in the world and then suddenly, it's the night before the present is due and I am only halfway finished 😆 And at least for me, even the quick projects still take a lot of time (especially when you need to get everything and have to clean up afterwards as well). I also have made bowl cozies in the past and potholders and table runners. This year I am making little wallets, little bags with lavender, and pot holders. And drawsting bags to put the presents in. Have a wonderful Christmas time. Thank you for your fun and informative videos! Helen
Helen, love all of your gift ideas they sound great and are inspiring. I am making a flannel blanket as a gift this year this is another favorite of mine. I am hoping time allows and I can film a video on it. Thank you so much for your continued support of my channel! It means so much. Have a Merry Christmas!🎄 and hopefully things don’t get too crazy! 🌻
Why do cozies not have the corners rounded somewhat?
I think it’s a case of simplifying construction, plus I notice on mine it does add a bit of protection from a potentially hot dish. You could try rounding them. I would round the corners at the start. Let me know if you give that a try. Thank you for watching! Happy sewing! 🌻
I am doing the bowl cozies this year! Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas 🎄
That’s a great choice! You’ll have so much fun making them!😀 I did update my bowl cozy video yesterday morning so not sure if you saw it. I wanted to make sure folks use 100% materials when making them. Merry Christmas 🎄! Thank you so much for sharing and watching!🌻
Thank you for sharing ❤.
Thank you Linda! I unfortunately had to repost the cozy bowl video, as YT doesn’t allow me to replace. In doing so I lost your kind comment! Thank you so much! I did add an important element to it this morning reminding folks to use 100% cotton for their materials. Have a wonderful holiday! As always thank you for your support and watching! 🌻💕
Great ideas! Thx
Thank you so much! 🌻

Thank you so much! 🌻 it was fun to make, so happy to hear you enjoyed it and found value in it too! Cheers from the USA 🇺🇸 ❤️
Sure did! I just finished my first quilt top. Ever. Because I don't do anything simple haha I tackled a Dbl Bear Paw pattern that required 204 hsts. I can't stress enough the pre starch your fabric PRIOR to cutting. I don't use water in my iron, I prefer a mister bottle, and that's what I used. Typical newbie. Hsts are indeed delicate and a starch treatment with a press not iron would have made a world of difference for sure. I have to give a shout out to Acorn products because the Easy press Marler with the fabric treatment in it is incredible. Seriously, incredible. And non toxic! Woohoo win win. There is so much to quilting and I am hooked. I'm in for life now haha look forward to being part of a most incredible community of quilters across the globe too ❤
Love the quilt on the wall behind you.
Thank you! It’s the “Winter Village” pattern by Laundry Basket Quilts. It’s on my list to finish up this year! ❄️
Maybe you could find leaf patterns in a coloring book to trace. They wouldn't be as fragile. I think your quilting looks lovely.
Aw Thank you so much! 💕Thank you for sharing!🌻 Great idea about the coloring book for the future!

Yes especially the pinwheel block I am making, ahhhhhh😢
Yes they can be tough with all those seams! Hopefully the tips help! Do let me know! Thank you for sharing! Best wishes with your project!🌻
Can't really see the point of that....cannot see it's precisely equal on all sides...like a proper template would be
Thank you for sharing. 🌻 it’s simply another technique one can use or not.

Put a 3M hook on your new metal ruler, easier to hold and grip….and fingers up out of the way 🤗 you could also put grippers on the back so it doesn’t slide
I shared that idea in this video I posted a few months ago. Must Try Quilting Ruler Hack #shorts #quilting ua-cam.com/users/shortsDYEZQWY447w?feature=share. Thank you for watching and sharing.
@@ginnielynn Ah, so you have…..glad you found out about it! I’ve been doing it for over a decade now and love 3M hooks.. I use them on my machines too, 3 of them… 1 to hang my scissors/snips, and 2 slightly apart for my seam ripper/awl to rest on so they don’t all run away! 🤗🤗🤗
I do love it. I find it’s hard to hang it with my other rulers, since the hook adds some bulk, as I have limited space. Curious, how are you storing them?
@@ginnielynn I have 2 large pegboards full of all my rulers… but yeah, I do have to hang those ones at the front because of the hook, and I mainly have them on my little square rulers, so I leave them out on the cutting board arranged prettily 🤗
Dinkie hair clips are the best, clamp well, slip off well and cheaper than wonder clips, can get from hairdressing places
Good tips! 😀 Thank you for sharing and watching! 🌻
Your way of ending the stitching was really interesting. I also have not had any luck with knots at the end.
Thank you so much! 🌻 hopefully you find it works for you as well.

I’m impressed with your down to earth sewing room. Not all fancy but perfectly suits the space and your needs. You have given me ideas for my own space!
I am so happy that I was able to inspire you! Thank you for sharing and watching! 🌻
The measurement of a hexie is taken on the short side, so your hexie probably is 1" - 1.5 " across one of the short sides; not the diameter.
You are absolutely right! Thanks for pointing that out! I hope I didn’t confuse anyone! 🌻
Buy a Big Shots die cutter to cut hexi forms(paper/plastic) And fabric. Way easier! I hand sew way to fast for this. This would make me fall asleep. Taking out hexi forms is simple, especially if you glue baste your fabric.
Thank you for watching and sharing. The video simple offers an another way to make them. 🌻 Sounds like hexies with forms are your jam! Happy Quilting!
Great video. So fun and creative. ❤
Thank you so much! It was fun to shoot. A lot of editing and filming hours, so your kind words mean a lot! 🌻
I like it but I am too thrifty with my fabric.
Thank you for sharing. I had the same thought. I am using it to my advantage. I am not putting a backing on a project I am making with them. I share all of this in my follow up video. Check it out. Quilting Tips: Hexagons WITHOUT Paper Forms Part 2 ua-cam.com/video/9oERGgxxL-w/v-deo.html
@@ginnielynn ok makes sense, easy finishing.
@@ginnielynn I will try it when I have enough fabric that I can fussy cut.
I enjoyed this so much 🥹
