Here I tried to rescue two badly messed up mod. 1897 Winchester pump action shotguns, made somewhere between 1900 and 1903, over 120 years old. They look rough, but they are way worse than they look. However, I've got a new powerful ally in reversing the effect of time (and maniacs) on gun parts. Will I manage to get them to shoot again?

Extreme Gun Recovery Attempt: Buried in CAT EXCREMENT
Переглядів 846 тис.Рік тому
Three handguns and a few hundred rounds of ammunition were found buried under piles of cat excrement, into a house crammed full of cats. Cat urine in particular is extremely corrosive to metals, causing the guns to show forms of decay that are very uncommon in normal conditions. Since I'd never seen anything like it, I thought I'd share it here on UA-cam. If you can and want to help me making v...

These rifles are terrible. Who the hell makes a “break-action” rifle with a threaded breech…? When I first saw this, I said to myself “oh this must be a homemade rifle, because there’s no way a company would sell some dumb thing like this”. It’s just insanely stupid to me to not build rifles like rifles. Where’s the receiver??! Why would anyone make something so tedious, and frankly, prone to failure? If KB had used a regular normal .50 cal, he wouldn’t have ever had such an accident even if he used that same ammo that had been over pressurized. Sure the gun may have cracked or something, but I’m willing to bet his life that it wouldn’t have caused him anywhere near the harm it did with that serbu piece of shit.

“Airborne Forces”? I did that in real life. Games are fun, but spending too much time in front of a screen is bad for your waistline. You can visit your local recruiting office, and if you’re one of the 25% or so of Americans today who are fit for service, you can be humping a ruck, jumping out of airplanes, and emptying out your magazines at the range (or in combat). And they pay you to do it! RLTW.

The slow bullet was chosen because it was very well suited to stop "locals" while the handling of the revolver was not too heavy. I had a W&S Mk VI made in 1917 and markedvon the backstrap with the name of the officer, JD Hignett.

my grandfather purchased a Winchester m1897 12g from a sears catalog some time in the 1920's, it came with a little matching pump22. both made in 1917. I still have the 12g but the 22 disappeared decades ago before I inherited the 12g. back when he ordered them you just ordered it like it was a tool or anything else. no id or background checks or any of that crap.
