English Paper Piecing Video Tutorial Series Preparation!
Good video short and sweet.
The photo idea is fantastic!
Thank you everyone for watching
You are so right on with the colour choosing.
thank you so much
Could you explain how to glue baste other shapes like triangles, diamonds, and pentagon for flat back stitch?
Very helpful! Thank you 😊
late to the party but I am going to try this method tomorr0w
Some thing that might be helpful, they make those disposable lip gloss, wands kind of like a sample wand for make up and that works too
Wow. So exciting!!!
I purchased the sew tight and the plastic pallet. I’m not sure how to use the pallet. I’ve watched their videos, but I still don’t understand. Can you help? Thank you.
Fantastic recap Karen
Please wear the mic. I am not coming back cause I anticipate hear you.i really want learn but nit from you.
Do you have a link where to buy these? Love the idea!
Thank you for sharing this; it sure is helpful!! May I ask what size and type of needle do you use for this Epp??
❤
Are the millifloeri quilts hand pieced? They really are magnificent.
Can you do this without glue? It’s hard to come by at times.
Ugh nobody shows after papers removed.
So let’s see what happens when the papers removed?
So show the stitch after paper is removed. That’s all I wanna see and nobody can show me.
Wow, I’m love that you covered everything! Excited to return to EPP and be portable. Thanks.
Flatback stitch
Still looks like a whipstitch to me. You are just holding the fabric out. The tape is a handy idea.
Great tip a lot easy that way Lorraine uk
I was cutting the ends off them and messed it up help
How to stop the thread slipping off needle all the time please😊
Love your vids do one with the honeycomb shape Lorraine UK 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
👍
Hi. Thanks for the tips. Should you ever choose to use tape again, I use my old wooden spools and wind the tape on that. Easy to store in my traveling sewing case. :)
About to make a kaleidoscope quilt. So helpful ....thanks.
Hi there. I know this is an older post but if you’re still doing epp and flat back I’m curious how you handle flat back and larger quilts. I’m working on Alchemy with 1” hexis. But as the quilt is getting bigger I’m struggling to use flat back. Any hints?? Thanks!
I stitch in smaller segments then stitch those groups together.
How does this work with bigger units, wouldn't that be more difficult?
Hello Jip, It works much like any other stitch. As the quilt gets bigger it becomes a little harder top because the top get heavier. But this is true no matter what stitch you use. As the top gets bigger I start to take the papers out. Hope that helps.
I want to make something like this. I just spent a tone of money on lots of fabrics to make my daughter one of these.. I even bought my 108" wide back for the back I did save money there. I want to make my own templates. I don't have a printer or machine So I am trying to use different regular rulers to figure it out.
This is such a complicated pattern but I bet you could figure it out. Let me know how it goes.
I have very basic questions. Like what is The name of the book and where do I get the book and papers?
Can I ask about the glue pen you used....?
I use the sewline glue pen. Thank you for asking
Is this still available anywhere?
Yes we do still have it. What template size do you want?
Your work is fantastic. I'm new to EPP, where do u get your patterns from? And new your channel, yes I subscribed 😀
Hello there we sell the patterns directly. Which one are you interested in?
I’m going to try this it looks way cleaner than what I’ve been doing. Thanks for sharing!
I was using the tape method for the flat back stitch until recently I switched to basting just my ends together. I kept getting my needle stuck in the tape which made it harder to stitch.
Judy thank you so much for watching
This was SO helpful! Thank you for demonstrating!
Mary so happy to hear you found it useful
I know I’m five years too late to the game, but this is a WOW moment! My first ever EPP with not one stitch showing!!! Thank you so much xxx
Jane it's never too late :) Thanks for letting me know it worked out for you
Also if you want another video on the flat back stitch I made a new one ua-cam.com/video/MQX_VSz-MYg/v-deo.html
Hi Karen! I now know why my EPP projects looks wonky. I'm a beginner and have watched many tutorials on EPP. Your tutorial on flat back stitch, tape, clip and gluing techniques have helped resolve some of my problems!! No longer am I discouraged! Thanks Karen!
That is fantastic news!!!!! Thank you for letting me know. It really just takes time to get familiar with new techniques :)
CooL
Thanks for watching
Thank you so much for sharing how and the name of how to do this stitch. This is the second time I’ve seen it done, but was curious since the first time I’ve seen it. Seems with doing it this way, it will assure me that I won’t get stitches on the front from me going to far down on the edges like I’ve seen on my last EPP project. - Stephanie
You are so welcome!
Great tip
Thank you so much Nita :)
How do I remove the covering from the templates?
Sharon I just take a straight pin and lift up the corner
What do you use for tape please?
I use blue painters tape :)
Thank you
Where is the actual tutorial?
I don't think we have a tutorial for Obsession but you use the flat back stitch to make the curves. Here is the video::ua-cam.com/video/MQX_VSz-MYg/v-deo.html
Oh my goodness - so many great ideas! I love EPP and have my own kit I take with me. It was fun to watch items come out of your bag - they just kept coming and coming LOL. Can't wait to try the flat stitch.
Annie thank you for watching I hope you try them :)
Wow! That's an amazing stitch for EPP. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much ! Let me know how it goes :)
Do you starch your fabric?
Cinthia I don't starch. I haven't tried that but I think it would add resistance trying to push your needle through the fabric. I'd be interested to hear how it goes if you try it.
