    I'm trying to understand the market for this car. Its priced at $50k give or take while most other EV's in the segment go for thousands less, have similar or more HP, and a longer range. If they wan't to compete they're likely going to have to drop their prices further or change production on the Mach E so it qualifies for the tax rebates. Otherwise I expect most people to wither skip it or buy it slightly used for half the price they're asking.

      A Premium Extended Battery eAWD is the same price as a Model Y Dual motor (non-Performance) just a bit lower hp but more torque and the range is 20km less. The quality tho? Mind blowing compared to that Tesla garbage.

      From what I recall it has several modes. EV (Electric Vehicle) Mode, EV Auto Mode and HV (Hybrid Vehicle) Mode. EV Mode will give you electric (AC included if the high voltage battery has sufficient charge, and HV mode will run hybrid only and won’t switch to electric.

    Thanks for the great review! How the acceleration look like when the battery is fully discharged? What the 0-60 when the battery is out of charge? I had a Honda Clarity plug in hybrid and its was nice on pure EV and Hybrid but once the battery is out of charge the car will run on gas engine only and its noisy, unrefined and very weak! Does this car keep some juice to aid the gas engine when battery runs out?

    • @MichaelDrivesOfficial
      @MichaelDrivesOfficial 9 годин тому

      The battery will always maintain enough charge to operate as a regular hybrid when the amount for pure EV is depleted. Yes you will have the gas engine noise at that point but it isn’t entirely disagreeable. Definitely worth a test drive.

This one looks interesting but Kia/ Hyundai vehicles looks like they are great new and then they decline quickly. Who wants to spend 50k+ on a vehicle only to be treated like garbage? It just doesn’t make good buying sense.

    Honestly one of the bet Polestar 2 reviews out there and I've seen quite a lot them. Not sure why this one didn't get more views but UA-cam is a weird place sometimes. Few things to note, as someone else pointed out already, Apple Maps extends all over the gauge cluster once you use it, unfortunately it doesn't get the battery information and can't do EV routing in the Polestar. Apple Maps can do it, but Polestar hasn't implemented it, let's hope this will change in the future. One thing to note is that if you use Google Maps to navigate to a charger the car will pre-heat the battery so you can charge with the maximum speed right off the bat. In Europe the Dual Motor cars have the new battery as well, I have no idea why they did you dirty like that in the US. I agree that Single Motor is probably the way to go because of the range, I get mine as a company car and in order to get some extra discount I had to settle for an existing pre-configured car so I got it in time and I had to go with the Dual Motor. I mean at least it's fun. I find it super weird when people are talking about leather seats and that the animals were treated humanly. It's leather, it's skin from dead animals, the animals were killed for those seats, just own that and don't wash your conscience with some "the animals had a good life" BS. No offense. Design-wise I have to disagree with you, the Polestar 2 is one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen, it stands out, it just looks gorgeous. The Polestar 3 and 4 are just some cars, they look okay but they can't match the beauty of the Polestar 2. For some reason the design team just nailed it with the Polestar 2 and just couldn't repeat it with the newer models. I just prefer the exposed grill on the pre-2024 models to that new SmartZone design. As stated, very good review, great overview over the car.

    • @MichaelDrivesOfficial
      @MichaelDrivesOfficial Місяць тому

      Thank you for watching, your compliment made my day. I’m still the “little guy” in the world of UA-cam and am still in the early stages of subscriber growth so that’s possibly why I don’t get suggested like the more seasoned accounts. Thank you for pointing out the Apple Maps full-screen capability, I am always learning and appreciate the note on that. Amazing that the 2 is your company car, I’d keep working for them cause that’s a great perk! Over time, the design of the 2 of the car has grown on me, some angles I love and others I’m not entirely sure, and I do love boxy because I learned to drive on an ‘85 Volvo 740 GLE. I think the Polestar 2 just sits a bit too high, obviously because of the battery that’s packed in down below. It will be very interesting to see what the design of the cars successor will look. Thanks again for commenting, and feel free to share the review or channel!

      Recommendation of a rex in a time when the combuster technology passes away? Curios. 2nd and more important: The rex only charges the battery. This has no physical/chemical advantage for the battery. It's more reciprocal. The battery is more often charged because of the rex, even while driving. That shortens the life of the battery. The frame is the exact same material that is in F1 formula race cars. Unless you’re driving over 200mph then you’re not going to die in a BMW i3

    nice to see that some people are still happy with this amazing car! There is one more interesting option: Adaptive led lights, and an optional heat pump. (at least in Europe). It's a very much under valued EV, with an amazing low battery degradation.

    • @MichaelDrivesOfficial
      @MichaelDrivesOfficial 2 місяці тому

      I’m fascinated by it! Here in the U.S., the LEDs are adaptive beginning I believe with the 2019 MY and only automatically level due to our archaic laws at the time. All full BEV i3 models in the U.S. have a heat pump as standard equipment.

    Just a heads up I know you said the performance comes with all season tires, it doesn't, only summer tires, at least in the U.S.

      @MichaelDrivesOfficial not even sure man, pretty sure you said it before the test drive when you were talking about the car that you got to test came equipped with snow tires and then you mentioned it doesn't come that way from the dealer and actually comes with all season tires

    Interesting to see that there are different leather colors available in different countries... The nice brown leather in this one is not available in Germany, unfortunately. 😕 So I ordered the leather in light brown, because I wanted the combination with the dark roof lining. Somehow strange that a car this pricy does offer so few possibilities of individualization... anyway looking forward to get it by end of 2024.

    Hey, nice review. Do you have the option to turn off regenerative braking and not use one pedal driving? I really hate that other EVs force that for everyone.

    • @Acxjet
      @Acxjet 3 місяці тому

      Yes you do, the paddles behind the steering wheel, can allow you to adjust the amount of regen from i-pedal to only coast

    • @MichaelDrivesOfficial
      @MichaelDrivesOfficial 3 місяці тому

      Thank you! Yes I believe you can set it to “Level 0” with the paddle on the steering wheel so you can coast like an ICE vehicle.

    Do you know much power that the V2L provide on the Niro? I know the 3.6kW spec is for Europe, not North America, and that the value is 1.9kW for the Ioniq 5 and EV6. I was told the Niro EV is less, but I can't find information about that anywhere.

    Love the dark blue with birch interior. Lexus has a real class leading winner here. The price isn't going to scare away the Lexus fan, that's for sure. In fact, that rough 4-banger in the lesser models might just keep this PHEV scarce on dealer lots.

    Nice review, kind of refreshing to see a small electric car. You have the first 500e coming out in 1997 and that seemed a bit early to me. I looked it up and from what I can tell it came out in 2013.

    • @MichaelDrivesOfficial
      @MichaelDrivesOfficial 4 місяці тому

      Thanks for watching! First 500e was definitely at 2013 model in the U.S. What time stamp did I say/infer it was 1997? I could possibly correct that with some text overlaid on the video.

      @@MichaelDrivesOfficial 23 seconds. My suggestion is to get your hands on an 2025 Ioniq 5 Limited when it comes out as I think there will be huge interest in it. It’s a very exciting refresh for those who are interested in the car.

      @@Molishious I totally goofed, thank you for catching. I intended that to read “2017 500e” (which was the MY of that orange one). I added a blur over the text and it will take a few hours to take effect. I’ll absolutely be requesting a 2025 Ioniq 5 to review when it’s available in the fleet in my area. Stay tuned!
