its sprung down lift the wiper blade up and then it will release from the surface NO TOOL lift up and it will automatically pop off thats why its spring loaded to stay down

What? Dude close the hood and lift up on the wiper side of the arm. It comes right off! There is spring pressure at the elbow joint. Break the pressure by lifting the upper arm. And it comes right off. Common man!

The reason wiper arms get stuck is galvanic corrosion (the aluminum alloy arm in contact with the steel spindle results in corrosion). Put some grease on the splines of the spindle before you reinstall the wiper arm. It will reduce corrosion and make the arm easier to release next time. And before you guys say anything, I have done this for about 40 years and never had an arm work loose on the spindle. On the other hand, there is no need to grease the threads on the end of the spindle before you reinstall the nut, as steel against steel will not corrode anywhere near as much as steel against alloy. Grease on the threads also makes it easier to overtighten and strip the threads, and it creates a risk of the nut loosening.

Get ir pointing up . 2 wrenches 1either side works better.

⚠️ Remember that wiper arms are spring-loaded, so can snap back from the service position and shatter your glass. Take precautions whenever adjusting the wiper arm or replacing wiper blades, protect your glass from damage by placing a thick soft towel, sponge or pillow.
