96 F150 xlt 2wd automatic. Mine makes a horrible grinding noise going faster than 45. It used to drive 1-3 gear but now it doesn’t engage. Thinking about getting another transmission and torque converter and slap it on there

There are replacement plugs with a 3/8 ratchet hole to replace the original. I often have to use pliers on original type and the plastic stops tend tabs sometimes crack. Also plugs available with ballcock valve and a hose to attach to keep oil from running over the swaybar and not in a single stream. Personal preference but options available

Don’t forget, Reset the oil minder percentage on the dash readout screen. Touch menu scroll down - settings - press ok -scroll down to maintenance- ok- oil percentage- hold down on ok button until reset to 100 percent is visible on dash gauge, done.

Turning the screw counter clockwise tightens the spring on the air valve secondary per the manual. If you want the factory setting... Turn the screw ccw until the air valve just goes closed, then add an additional 1 and 1/2 turns. Good video!

I just bought a 1984, stock 302 with the hydraulic flat tappet cam. It's my first time working on a pushrod or carb engine. My year has the EEC-IV (I think)? Which I think your truck would have come with from factory as well? To my understanding it is some kind of electronic timing and carb setup. I believe the explorer motor you're using would have originally came fuel injected? I'm not able to recognize everything by looking at it yet but I understand the basics (like some people converting to the older duraspark, or a GM HEI. I'm just wondering what you did for an ignition system? And if you had any issues getting it to work with the truck? Thanks! I want to put a better carb on mine but i'm having a hard time deciphering old forum posts on it.

Man I got a 92 4x4 had it parked on a hill and now park won’t rev up no reverse neutral is drive till 2nd and drive shifts out fine. Any ideas what happened?

Damn!…that is easy. I just received my replacements for my 02 and took a quick peek under the hood to see what I needed to do. I thought I was going to have to remove a bunch of crap to get to mounting screws. Glad I popped on UA-cam to see what I actually needed to do. Heading outside to replace as soon as I click - enter 😂

That’s pretty much what I want my ‘85 to sound like. Right now I have the bone stock 302 in it. Wanting to upgrade the top end and install headers plus I might no to a magneto ignition because I hate that EEC-IV system. Hoping to get at least 300HP. Curious what your thoughts are on components? Would you consider one of those Edelbrock top end kits a good idea?
