Putting rookie McDavid on ALL 32 NHL teams in Franchise Mode
Переглядів 6914 днів тому
Connor McDavid completely changed the NHL when he entered as an 18 year old rookie back in 2016. 10 years later, he has established himself as one of the most dominant players in the history of the sport. But what would happen if every team had 18 year old McDavid in their starting lineup. How would the next 10 years of the league look? Can any of the clones break McDavid's dominance in the rea...

The game that LISTENED to fans
Переглядів 1 тис.3 місяці тому
XDefiant's path to now has been filled with ups and downs, but after almost 2 months since it's release it seems to of hit the mark for fans. But the question is what made players gravitate to the new game from Ubisoft? Was it the gameplay? Or maybe the free to play offering? In my opinion, it's a little bit of everything, with one fan centric mindset that gave them the jump they needed to succ...

Why we HATE sports video games (and why they'll never change)
Переглядів 1,2 тис.4 місяці тому
As new sports titles get announced and released, fans wonder if their new favorite sports games will live up to their expectations. From FC 25, to Madden 25 or NBA 2K25, the growing trend seems to be you will never like your favorite sports game. People point fingers to ultimate team, yearly releases, or other causes to be the problems. Is it possible to ever like your favorite sports games? Or...
Hate to say it, but I think you need a larger sample size, 100 sims.
I find Big Rig to be really useful in threes, is this listed based off 6's mostly?
Magnetic is useless
Great summary and analysis!
So with you watching to see how they work and how good they worked did you watch the ai play to know for sure cause playing the game is different cause I play and use ai in the franchise mode and it’s a big difference
what would be the best abilities to put on a grinder build, if i forecheck heavy and like to sit in front of the net and get rebounds/tips
Definitely gold big tipper. Then I'd probably go no contest as it's really good all around, especially on forecheck and in front of the net if you want to pick up loose pucks. Then close quarters is always good, or stick em up / yoink or truculence could be great if you want better defense / hitting.
There are some abilities that are just good in general, but I think playstyle effects most peoples lists. Quick Pick and In-Reverse have always been go-to abilities for me because I make a lot of interceptions and always want to be facing up ice when I make those so I can immediately skate it up or make the quick pass to someone further up. In-Reverse is underrated for that because it makes you faster and if you have good agility (and an ability like Elite Edges) you're very agile. Plus the safest poke checks (both from a defensive positioning standpoint and a tripping penalty standpoint) to make are skating backwards in front of someone using vision control. So those two and elite edges feel like S tier when I use them. The way abilities can work together really effects their rating for me.
You can't use Elite Edges in EASHL....but other than that I mostly agree
Really good editing and microphone, Wingels is going somewhere
Is there no wheels or elite edges this year?
Not for custom loadouts, they’re only available on the specialty loadouts created by EA. I’ve been using the Agent Blueline one and it’s been better than any other loadout I’ve created before
Pretty solid list. I'd drop Shhnipe and Thunderclap down to a C, and put Beauty Backhand at B or maybe even A. Personally I think that's a very good, but underutilized ability
take a shot every time he says mcdavid
hiiiii conor mcdavid ☺️☺️
Bro needs more subs 😭😭
Great experiment 😊👍
Amazing Research! If you don't mind, I would love to reference your research and give your channel a shoutout in an upcoming prospect growth tutorial video I am working on! Let me know if that's okay.
Sounds cool! By all means use whatever you need to!
@@WingelsDGC awesome! Thank you
I was not gonna buy NHL25 this video showed me that they did make meaningful changes and now I am going to buy. Thank you for the awesome vid!
What happened to Michkov and the Calder? Hes an 82 ovr which I believe is the highest of all rookies
Great video, I can’t imagine how much time went into this lol. Well done
22 time Calder Trophy winner-Maclin Celebrini. Suck on that Gretzky!
Nothing too weird, first league, Toronto above Florida. 😂
This is why I stopped playing gm mode for a few years :/ never felt realistic cause I’d be having the worst team in the league the year before winning the presidents 🤦♂️
Can you do this for goalies?
more of a video exposing how trash nhl 24 was than how good 25 is. i bet this feature was in nhl 07.
*Sigh* just another guy shilling for EA.
The really shocking thing is that it took until NHL 25 for EA Sports to do this right. It seems like the most no-brainer system.
THIS is the kind of thing EA needs to promote. I hate how much we have to guess and experiment with all the systems. Tell us how to play the game and understand it. Not just pretend to upgrade the AI.

So they actually made the different player types actually different player types? Jesus, revolutionary
So a player like kuzmenko should be a higher rating this year?
Great video ua-cam.com/video/8m3bimUHPiM/v-deo.htmlsi=QSMkdm99oBy36USw
God this change was so needed. Great video!
This makes me feel a lot that in NHL 24, player type didn't matter at all. In NHL 25 player type does actually matter
makes no sense why enfd has less physical points than dfd but has more defense points.
And why does two way D have more defense points than defensive D
2bc needs to see this
i cant believe this wasnt in nhl24! I wanna say it was like this back in nhl12 but id have to double check edit: it was in nhl 12 confirmed, to some extent. everything to 60 was 57 ovr for all forwards, but maxing wrist shot power and accuracy varied from 59 to 65 ovr depending on player type
dave blunts mentioned
This raises 2 questions for me 1. How does player growth differ in NHL 25 compared to 24? Does this mean that the player grow in attributes weighted towards their current playstyle? So if you're a sniper with 81 defensive awareness like Cole Caulfield, will that value increase much compared to in NHL 24? 2. How much does OVR rating compared to individual attributes matter when it comes to simming in Franchise mode? Does the fact that your sniper has 81 defensive awareness matter that much? A separate observation is for someone like Michkov, he's a 79 sniper vs an 82 playmaker, so that makes the new feature of changing a player's playstyle intriguing. At 79 he's probably not worth rostering on your 4th line, but at 82 he could be a 3rd line forward, but that depends whether you want to build your team with him as a goal scorer or a playmaker and also on what his shoot/pass bias is (which can also be changed using season goals)
Sounds like good video ideas ;)
I think you can ask them to change positions, not play style
Excellent spreadsheets!
Thank you for using caufield as an example 😁
Good vid ! 👍 Good questions in comments too. Time to experiment.
Ok so do the attributes drop if you play an def d man in the foward sniper position? Or is the rating just a rating?
Attributes are the exact same, only the overall rating changes. Would need to test if the player type would affect player growth in say franchise mode
Does height and weight factor in?
It does not as far as I know!
@WingelsDGC and do you know if this is how hut works too?
I hope its like this in hut too!
I've been waiting for this. I love this!
I loved UT when it first came out I could have a nasty team with out spending money now I don’t even buy any sports games
Very well made video! Something simple that makes franchise mode that much better this year.
I think a good way of thinking about this is in nhl 24 they phrase it like this : “this player is an 85 overall and happens to be a power forward” Where as in nhl 25 its : “This player is an 85 overall power forward” Now this creates a weird situation where certain player types might be more valuable then others
Very well done video
Great video man!
Very interesting indeed
I think they didn’t say anything because the old system is to shit so they hope people don’t know about it
