    MAN!!!! You are absolutely brilliant describing the OBD/Communication system's! The T.C Motor Control/TCCM went bad in a 2000 Chevy Blazer! Its been 2 months of research, cause and effect... the list goes on. It's been 2 months and finally ready to fire after watching 2 or 3 hours from your teaching. Your techniques tied scattered thought, unfinished research, and ignorance together beautifully! The, Ability, Knowledge, and Art Form when describing the correlation between the System Algorithm/Mechanical Functions, are second to none from here, my opinion. Thank you, Sir!

    A "Care Care" shop say's they'll do a 149.00 diagnostic charge. What should I expect? So far he's saying it's probably plugs and wires... $900.00 dollars. Plus I'm sure the 149.00 diags. Are we always compelled to pay that 149.00 ??

    • @electron-john

      diagnostic fees are always hated but an average shop spends tens of thousands of dollars each year on training and tooling. todays vehicles require in-depth diagnostics and that takes time.

      @@electron-john By the same token, mechanics can just go thru the motions and not care if it starts or not, they get 150 plus tax for making shit up. Owners may have to spend a diagnostic fee, two towing fees and be in the same place they started.

      @@user-sp8eb6iz7f I understand your point and unfortunately, there are some bad apples in every industry. Those that are truly passionate about their careers, also do not like those that prectice inferior methods and give the entire industry a bad name. Until the consumer market place weed those bad apples out by not falling for the low prices, they will continue to thrive. I like to explain it like this. A doctor spends a great deal of money and time getting a degree to practice medicine on a patient who’s mechanical makeup hasn’t really changed in years. A mechanic is working on patients whose composite and technical makeup changes yearly. The modern day vehicle has technological dvancements that compare and exceed most any other trade or industry including space travel! While it is true that they most likely did not have the initial expense of a doctors degree, the difference is they invest in personal tools and equipment and training their entire careers. This expense for those who take their careers serious, will surpass anything the doctors have spent. In most parts of the world mechanics are treated with the respect of medical professionals. Here in the US, sadly we are not due to those bad apples that are mentioned above. The only way they stay in business is by offering low prices that the general public falls for. As a mechanic I too have always been curious why this is. We don’t question expenses from going to the doctors for diagnostic tests, or having to pay one doctor to just tell you to go to a specialist and pay them and hope they can help you. We also always seem to have money for purchases like tv’s and whatever else we desire but are always looking for a discount on auto repairs. The car takes us and our families to work and provide safe journeys for us and our families but we never seem to think in those terms. Sadly, I do not have an answer or solution for what we are discussing here and I apologize if anybody that reads this gets upset. I am just trying to show the mentality of the professional mechanic while also sympathizing with the consumer and understanding that like doctors, plumbers, electricians, or any other trades, there are bad apples in the mechanic industry. Thanks again for the support of my channel

    The high pressure fuel pump in the video apears to be from a 2.4L ecotec. i work on them often. The HPFP you're holding is commonly problematic. You stated that the line conected to it should always be replaced because the ball will get distorted and it will start leaking. I understand your logic but I've never replaced them nor have I ever had an issue with them leaking. Is there any other reason to replace if it's not leaking?

    The irony of a video with "time is money" on the title which doesn't even remotely get to the point for several minutes is not lost on me. :) I have no problem with a long format video if it's long due to useful content. There are occasional useful nuggets in here and I'm not knocking your efforts, but you've got to reduce the filibustering John. Your signal to noise ratio is waaaay off. I'm saying this to be kind, not cruel. Especially as you're advertising a premium not-for-free product too. You'll struggle to incentivise people to part with their money if they just think they're going to get filler and padding.

    • @electron-john
      @electron-john 28 днів тому

      thank you for the constructive criticism. the difficult part in teaching any subject for me is that there are many different skill levels of people watching or attending the courses. some may not be as advanced as others. I will however take your suggestions into account on future works. thanks for watching.

    • @benjaminrich9396
      @benjaminrich9396 28 днів тому

      @@electron-john I hear you. But the filibustering and filler to which I refer is not over-explaining the basics. It's just unnecessary chatter. If your concern is less advanced learners - you need LESS of that, not more. Less advanced learners don't have the patience to sift through the filler to find the useful bits. Nor do they even know which buts ARE the useful bits. They're listening at the beginning of a video and every minute it isn't actually teaching them (or anybody else) anything you're just burning up their patience and good will. Even if they do stick with it, you're giving them (not you) the burden of having to work out whether you've said anything of use yet, as, new to the topic, they won't know. If you've some deliberate commercial reason why you want to drag out fewer minutes' worth of material over a longer timebase, then at least fill it with facts and useful content. Not padding. By all means give people at the beginning a quick brief breakdown of what the video will cover, but don't keep constantly telling people what you're going to teach them. just teach them! It doesn't build suspense or interest, it just frustrates. Again, I'm not wishing to be rude. You do (eventually) have some good content. Yes, a LOT of it has been said elsewhere, but that's no reason not to include it. Everybody has to hear these things for the first time somewhere. If you prefer a long format video to shorter punchier videos that's fine. But learners of ALL levels - beginner and advanced - will get bored and exhausted if they have to drum their fingers waiting for your useful content. Especially when they can get it quicker elsewhere. It's a learning curve. My guess is you're accustomed to delivering training in live settings and you have the session booked with no time pressures. But even in those sessions - filler and fluff and a needlessly long intro etc isn't value for money. As I say, what I'm on about is where you're waffling for several minutes. It's not that this is more basic stuff which more advanced learners don't need, it's just fluff. What might help is if you give these talks then get somebody else to edit it. Again, I'm not seeking to be impolite, it's just a crying shame as it detracts from what could otherwise be a good channel. Best of luck

    How does the AP2500 compare to AP200 which is a similar tool for similar price? the Autel site will not compare the two tools. Do they both scan the HVAC system? No details are available, just some random screen shots.

      the 250- allows you to choose one car line for complete access to all the modules for free. so in your case about the hvac module, you would want the 2500

      @@electron-john I'm confused, in your example it says not purchased? Are you saying you get full diagnostic code reading and live data of all modules for one brand for free?
