PRVN Wario Unbroken
This was gonna be a tight one. I thought of it similar to Helen...except with burpee Pull-Ups. Surprisingly the overhead Squats were the recovery for me. I didn't put the row, and the burpees were at a consistent pace until the last round. Was a pretty brutal combination considering...but they have all felt that way lately. 5 rounds for time of 21/16 calorie Row, q5 overhead Squats 95/65lb, 9 burpee Pull-Ups. Time Cap 18 Minutes, finished 16:28 RX Unbroken.

Ouch...this was quite a bit of volume. 80 reps of each is no walk in the park as they say. I figured pacing and appropriate breaks was the name of the game. I opted to break the larger sets of into 2 decreasing reps. So my sets were 5, 10, 8-7, 12-8, 8-7, 10, 5. Those middle sets were something else. So far this week has punched me in the face to try and finish under the cap. I opted for step d...

This really came down to transitions. I thought that I would use the GHDs to recover from the Wallwalks, but it was actually the other way around. My core lit up on this. Not sure why exactly. The overall volume isn't bad. Just may have been conflicting movements. Either or, 10 rounds for time of 10 GHD situps, 3 Wallwalks. Time Cap 15 Minutes, finished 9:42 RX Unbroken?

Oof...this was a long one. Each movement took a good bit of time to finish. I figured at first 4 rounds would be reasonable at a 90 second per movement pace. However, holding onto the dumbbell and pushing the pace on the shuttles definitely fell off. So 3 was the target. I opted for 50ft unbroken with 1 arm before switching to the other to shave on time. The shuttles were a recovery pace and th...

First metcon back from honeymoon. Glad it was only 8 minutes to help ease back into things. I thought the pacing would be to push the cap, but instead I decided not to break the barbell. Not sure if that's the best strategy. But it worked for the most part with minimal rest. Simple couplet, 8 minute AMRAP of 3-6-9-12-etc. burpee Pull-Ups, Shoulder to Overhead 135/95lb. Finished the round of 15 ...

Ouch...I wanted no part of this one. I am not a fan of Wallballs to want to do 144 of them paired with 81 burpee Box jump overs. I figured 9 sets would be a challenge to hold onto and I wanted to make that my goal even if it meant it took a little extra time or I went a tad slower on the burpees. Pretty straightforward metcon...they seem to have enjoyed this couplet the last month as we keep se...

Not much warm up for this one. Been a long day and the PRVN workout this morning really humbled me. Figured the barbell wouldn't be the workout since it's so few of reps. I opted for the Echo Bike which is arguably harder. That was where the time was spent and mostly recovering to do another set unbroken. Singles would take too long and the bar would bounce too much. 3 minutes rest felt good fo...

Nothing like a workout titled Strong to make you feel weak. This was a daunting workout all week. I feel like the 1RM was just put in there last minute and didn't make any sense with the time domains to me. My first round was right at 1:32. However I would not be able to sustain that pace and only did it to get an idea of perspective. It also got really hot mid workout as if the heat finally bl...

Nice little mental grind before the holiday. These are all decent movements for me, however they definitely conflict with one another. I'd say appropriate pacing is key considering you can do a round in about a minute 20. I presumed I'd fall between 6 and 8 rounds depending on fall off pace. Luckily we were able to get everyone set up for this one. 12 minute AMRAP of 3 Wallwalks, 9 toes to bar,...

This one was pretty straightforward on what you had to do to finish. We don't have 30lb Wallballs unfortunately, so we had to do level 2. Had this been 30lb, I'm not sure if I would have finished under the cap. I went unbroken and was only 2:12 under the cap. I would have had to break up the Wallballs each time into at least 2 sets. Fun couplet that definitely can sneak up on you. You definitely wouldn't be able to walk a lot of shuttles, but you can get away with walking some. The shuttles are about 80% of the working time...so appropriate pacing is required. Presumed unbroken wouldn't be hard, and I just decided to walk the first few shuttles to break up those larger sets a tad more. I tried to set this one up as evenly ...

Was a decent one today. To reach their goal, you would have had to go unbroken on the chest to bar. After 90 pull ups yesterday, it was just smarter for me to break it up inton2 sets. I did 10-5, 8-7, 8-7, 8-7, 15. Held onto he last one to give myself time to get into the 6th round. The splits were about the same amount of reps each time. Just a little more than a round per set. • @christopherdidyoung7442
      @christopherdidyoung7442 2 місяці тому

      @trevorsimison2131 Great observation. It really depends on the workout. On this one, since I hate the Lunges...I didn't want to pick that bar up more than once per set. For the Toes to Bar, I know I'm capable of going unbroken, just wasn't sure after the morning wod prior. My rest was at most 12 seconds. I think if I broke it up, I'd still have done the same if not more rest unintentionally. I typically keep around 10 seconds rest. With all that said, there are wods where I will intentionally break up due to limitations or overall volume...this just wasn't one of those for me. Hope that helps clarify some.
