PRVN "Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em" Unbroken 126 Calories
This one was really tough to keep the pace. I wasn't sure if unbroken was possible after the first 2 rounds, but i was able to sustain my goal with increasing reps. I wanted to get to the rower with about 2 minutes each time after how the first set went. Then I figured I'd try to up the pace and have more cals per set to train speed under fatigue. I was able to achieve this but it was a taxing workout to say the least. I wanted to keep minimal rest if any and then recover in the first 30 seconds of rowing. 4 sets of 4:00 on/2:00 off. 2 rounds of 13 overhead Squats 95/65lb, 13 toes to bar, max Calorie Row in remaining time. Finished with 27,30,33,36 cal for a total of 126 Calorie RX Unbroken.

Not fun, not terrible. Somewhat short piece today. I opted for singles out the gate since it's pretty much 45 for time. The chest to Bar are really just to break the sets up when it comes to comparison time per rep. Wanted to stay steady with short breaks. So I've only done this a few years ago and that was with rings. Figured the bar might be a tad slower with my more normal technique. Turns out it was, but it could have been the bucket as well. Well, did some of this stuff already this week...however I figured if I took time in-between that I would be able to hold onto everything. Definitely was a Sumo Deadlift High Pull workout for me. This one got grippy! Wanted to keep it like an emom and just move through transitions. My legs are still quite tender from Saturdays cycling of DT at 155lb. So I'm fine with the 12 rounds. Fairly simple straight forward workout. Not sure why the reps were the way they were. 12 Minute AMRAP of 7 Hang Power cleans 95lb, 7 Toes to Bar, 21 Double Unders. Finished 12 3 RX Unbroken.

Damn that was killer job! We did this WOD this morning at my gym and this GPPer got 10:47 Rx. Seeing you do that in 6:25 is insane! I broke the 12, 15, and 18 in halves and went 3 sets for 21. My overhead ain't the best with bum shoulders. Box Jump Overs were lateral but definitely no rebound...100% agree with you CALVES were on FIRE and so were my feet! Keep pumping these content out my man!

@@christopherdidyoung7442I actually prefer this way My shoulder stuff isn't an issue and that's a bit faster for me bc the js pushups aren't an issue I wasn't sure but I am now I'm starting to get better again I almost caught my nemesis the best guy at the gym today who I used to always be neck and neck with but came up two reps short

@KippingItRealcrossfit hahahaha. Yes, was pushing to finish those under the cap without a miss. That's about 85% of my 1RM Power Clean and it was taking a toll. I had just done 80 Power cleans at 135lb on Wednesday afternoon. So Was quite limited in that movement.

@@christopherdidyoung7442 for all intents and purposes.... i died. that really hurt. i would say that i see a smidgen of improvement these last few weeks after bottoming out. the first 4 rounds was fine, but i couldnt really handle the last two. i did not get under the 18 minutes. the second set of pistols took me an insane amount of time. seems. my 8 to 10 minute engine is getting slighttly better. but that 10-20 minute range im having trouble hanging on
how many times a week are we allowed to do this?
@Eneergy That's an interesting question. If you're looking to improve each time...I'd say probably not every week but maybe every 6 weeks. If you're looking to do it every week...I wouldn't push the pace too terribly and just once a week.

Would it make a big difference if you had rebound the BJ? in terms of fatigue and extra cals....
That's a great question. I was saving my legs for the Snatches so I didn't want to rebound and spike the heart rate. I may have gotten a few more calories in the first 2 rounds but maybe a few less in the latter rounds. So who knows. Good observation though.

ours was 12 minutes and 30 inches. we dont have enough boxes. prolly why. i think today is my first chance to win a while. fly through the wall walks. 30 inch box jumps overs brisk pace and get ahead..... i only beat me nemesis and my class when i go out hot and hold on. back feels fine, but can still feel it a tiny bit. so i will wear a belt and do fast single and use more quads.....ive done that before and surprinsingly its not deadlifts that retweak me when im carefuly......its always burpees, or toes to bar or something where im not thinking about protecting myself
Yea, that would make sense. Quick singles is definitely a strong play and I think if you've got box jump overs you'll be able to make it under the 12 pretty smoothly. Glad things are on the up and up. If I were to say where to kick, it would be the back half of Deadlifts. Let me know how it goes!
@@christopherdidyoung7442 yeah everything is way down from injuries and just training poorly starting about a month before the open. im shocked how ive lost it. i think i my age being a masters athlete now, i cant get away with much and need to stay moving. excited to get it back as i have started training properly again
@KippingItRealcrossfit Yea...my training partner took last week off and you can tell. Not only do you feel physically week but it can effect you mentally as well. 1 workout at a time.

@@KippingItRealcrossfit That's a solid job. Sounds like you're getting your groove back. Learning when and where to push based on how you feel going into and during a workout is and always will be what allows you to push to new limits and avoid further injury. Keep it up!

I saw hand signal There wasn't a single no rep there unfortunately Even if no appeals I would repeatedly talk to who is in charge of the judges or say to the judge hey man I respect you It's really hard in real time and not a job I want to do ... but I wanted to show you my video and tell you that I don't think there was anything in the realm of a no rep and just wanted you to consider that so we can all get the best competition moving forward No hard feelings either way
Yea, I talked to the guy running the event last night. Told him that it was unfortunate how that happened on an elimination style event and I didn't make it to the next round. It is what it is and I just gotta fight back. I'm now in the first heat for today's events. I appreciate that comment though and glad I'm not the only one seeing quality reps being taken away.
Your moving good . Bro the burpees look taxing Have you ever considered widening your legs for less hinge and staying super low and hands low ? I'm guessing you have done it this way and this is your form for endurance rather than speed ?
Yea, this one wasn't one I got to test. When we go there I was like crap, they're the black ropes and those things are slick. The burpees were my penalty for not doing a double up rope climb. I was doing them that way just to move through them and not push the pace...the rope pace was what I needed to keep up. Good eye though, it's definitely a challenging workout and got me.

Yep we're on prvn now. Back is ok now for certain things but I gotta avoid hinging for weight until next week to be safe. Funny story. I started working out against and interviewing games athletes 😂 I have Brandon Luckett and Jack Rozema this week. Ty Jenkins episode is out already. But we changed the workouts to involve no lower back. Since we're on the same workouts now. When I'm done with this series leading up to the CrossFit games. We should see if we can do a workout against each other and a brief podcast sometime
