Oh for those cool ride days! We just rode Troy Lee and I feel like the trail is the best its ever been. So many great additions and so much recent work!! Kudos to the builders!!
Nice vid, how's the Yamaha treating you?
@@bryanm.3026 Thanks for the comment! Yamaha I sold. Had a great motor but Yamaha has horrible QC I had motor bolts falling out and loose crank right when I bought it. Then I had shock bolts strip out because low quality bolts. Rear suspension feels like it has way less travel than it does. I was not confident in the build quality to keep it any longer. Yamaha customer service is not good either, they would not help me with any of the issues. I really wanted to like the bike.
@@timquinn465 Thanks for the reply. Wow, that really sucks...was wanting to like these as well. Thx again bro
This scary crazy!! Amazing skills
Camera does not do justice, but it is scary fun!
I just did parts of this today. This is definitely a trail you need to be familiar with. Heavy on the brakes!
That's for sure, great trail for the brake pad industry.
Fatigue mistakes seems common at this park because of the length and altitude of trails
A lot of riders take breaks on the way down, many riders get “arm pump”, others can make the whole run without a problem. At the end of the day when fatigued that is especially when you can make a mistake and get hurt.
Awesome nice job on the video!
Thanks!
Your website has cool bikes!
Nice video dude!
Thanks for the visit!
What is outlaw?
Name of one of the best trails, could be named outlaw because it's the fastest way off the big hill so you can "get away."
Mad skills Tim!!
LOL that looks so simple. 10 -ply is rad and gnarly, the camera doesn't do it justice
Yah it's gnarly and any view on camera looks easy, doesn't matter if it's first person or third person view. Reality is more brutal from any angle. You basically point the bike and hope you make it to the bottom in one piece.
Which app do you use on trails?
Trailforks or MTB Project
@@timquinn465 ...thanks
I took an e-bike up the west side of the Cucamonga truck road from Lytle Creek all the way to the radio towers before it ran out of juice. The trail beyond that was in terrible condition. I trie slushing the bill to Joe Elliott but had to turn back due to it getting dark.
That's crazy you ran out of battery. What bike are you on and how much elevation gain? I have not tried going up the Lytle Creek side but sounds like it's a jungle over there too.
Is this up Big Tree trail?.
That trail sucks dude.
What are your favorite trails?
Looks like so much fun!!!!!!
Just picked up the Jeffsy core 2 2021 edition and brakes shifters and crank all feels absolutely garbage, so much play and shifters move on their own and brakes don’t grab
I though YT was good since everyone hyped it up but it’s definitely not worth it
Nothing like first hand experience feedback. I've noticed YT has been going cheaper on the components packages over the years while trying to hold near the same price for each trim level. The Core 2 components are considered lower end SRAM, I think Core 3 or Core 4 spec package you'd be much happier, except the price!
@@nc33228 Not as worth it as it used to be, prices have gone up more in line with the other brands to get a better spec package. Still the geometry and frame designs are solid.
@@timquinn465 I agree, I’m quite disappointed only after 2 rides, brakes I can deal with but sram NX is a no go especially when you sell a trail bike, the hub is 18t which is a odd to get used to, but I will resell or try to find alternatives, rear derailleur is going to get some work this afternoon after I set aside some time, I never expect these things to be tuned from factory but wow was it a mess ridding trails first time on the Jeffsy, after tuning shocks they felt quite nice and frame geometry felt smooth uphill as well, it’s kind of a turn off to have to spend over $4000 to get a bike your content with, anything less you’ll have to pick and choose
Did you sell the bike? I know on mine I tuned the suspension initially and it worked ok. Then I found that YT has a suspension guide and I went with the factory clicker settings and it was much better, definitely works well on choppy terrain but still balanced in the air on jumps. Going back to your derailleur if you are replacing I would go with a Shimano XT or better.
Super technical trail
Epic trail Lord Jesus keep you safe
Noice!! Capra for the win with the nature call.
Would a 2017 capra be a good bike
Probably, I saw there were some suspension changes from 2017 to 2018.
Nice runs dude 🤙🏼
Cool Video and awesome riding
What psi did you have yours at
15psi front, 18psi rear
Good ole TLT always gets good reviews, balls to the wall definitely. Makes Fullerton Loop look like a picnic.
Fullerton Loop, never tried maybe it is more dangerous, many road crossings and the way people drive. 🤔
Wouldn't you want to go fast to avoid it? Haven't encountered a snake yet
Yah I thought about going fast but I was imagining the snake being coiled up ready to strike next to trail.
Wow! You were going fast! Have you been back? Me and my friends @HikeRevolution have been working on the trail
That is great to hear you are helping the community by maintaining this trail which has so much potential. I am not sure why people do not use this trail, incredible views and you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere close to town.
@@timquinn465 that’s exactly what I thought too! We want to make it good at least to Calamity Peak, and give people a reason to go there. It’s all the bushwhacking that makes it hard to maintain.
Dam that looked like a lot of work. You really need to be in shape in Vegas for these trail rides.
Great video bro! How do you think a hardtail would do on all of that?
Thanks Mitch, the hard tail should be good except for the rock sections. I would say 70/30, 70 percent doable on hard tail, 30 percent you would wish for full suspension. The fire road climbs would be great on the hard tail. 👍🏻
what about the size? i think the jeffsy in M has about the same reach and stack as the carpa in L. don't really know why. which sizes do you ride?
MoJo I would refer to the YT website all the frame dimensions are listed. As far sizing I run XL Capra and L Jeffsey because I like a longer wheelbase for more downhill oriented riding and for trail riding a shorter wheelbase I prefer for quicker handling and to shave weight. I am 6’3” I like the XL Capra and L Jeffsey.
Great job esp liked the 10 yr olds! My son is 11 MTB check out Andre’s Adventires on UA-cam peace!
Nice! It was pretty cool to see the youngsters sending it and showing up the adults. I like seeing the young kids ride because it keeps them out of trouble and it reminds me of how much fun I had back then. Cool, I will have to check out the channel.
Those wind noise is annoying. Great video.
The wind noise is to make it sound like I am going faster than I really am. Thanks.😂
Nice review on twin bikes!

What do you like about the videos?
@@timquinn465 I like the terrain
That epic deer.
Are you wasted?
YT Decoy for me. I Ordered the new elite. About 3 more weeks. Can't wait. Value compared to other bikes is great. I rode the high end Santa Cruz Heckler and great bike. But 13k is ridiculous. Enjoy 2 for 1 value.
I was looking at the Decoy as well but can't decide which one I want LOL. I am looking at mullet setup or going full 29's front and rear. Leaning toward full 29's, but idk. My current Ebike is alright I got a screaming deal on it. Looking at Ebikes, the Decoy is in ballpark with Haibike, both great bikes. Specialized and Santa Cruz great bikes but again seems like they are greedy on the profit margin.
Tim Quinn Go mullet!
@@octodadmtbmartyrichards2862 loving my mullet set up. Cushcores and tubeless.
I like the Capra
what size did you go with and how tall are you? Thanks
Jeffsey went with Large, Capra went with XL. I probably should have got XL Jeffsey also but for trail/XC it's okay IMO to run a smaller frame for quicker handling. The XL fits perfect I am 6'3"
nice ride!
Nice video especially for the bonus clips :)
id say E-bike lol
I can smell the sagebrush...
This place looks incredible! Such a nice challenging looking trail with some insanely cool views, what more could you possibly want from an mtb ride. This looked perfect
Well said, views so good hard to pay attention to the trail.
Sick. That trail could use some maintenance 😅. Kinda crazy doing it alone bro 🤘.
Yeah for sure, probably not the best idea to ride alone.....but no one else wanted to ride it so I had two choices. 1) Ride alone 2) Don't ride it. The choice is clear had to try it.
Thanks man, climb was brutal and I questioned why did I go here? However, the downhill was sick and I would definitely go back. This was my first time here. I almost didn’t go because the signs weren’t good at the bottom on Green River Road where we park. Tons of hikers and seemed to be very few bikers probably a 4:1 ratio hikers to bikers. I know if I rode this all the time would need to replace brakes often lol, very steep grade all the energy goes to heating up brakes. Instead of meandering side to side for more flowy dh where you can coast, this ride you are on brakes way more than I am used to to stay in check, but man the dh is really worth the climb.
Well done bro 🤘. Was it worth the climb? I still don't know the answer to that but keep going back 😂
Good picks... I like these trails too. I'll have to compare our videos side by side to look at our line choices.
Great idea, how do you do that?
@@mtbcrasher2703 You can run two windows side by side. It is difficult to get them to sync.
@@MTBMOR Thanks, I'll try that
Nice I gotta try that as well. Just have to open up the videos side by side in different windows. It will be interesting to see which line choices carry more speed.
@@timquinn465 I've been playing with it and it's a challenge. I wonder if there is a website that can do it for us. I've been watching people take the first turn in Lynx and the last rock roll to see how they do it. So far I've learned I am slow on the first turn and more open minded that others on the last roll...
Dope videos bro 👌
Thank you. I'm still learning so hopefully they are getting better.
Dope trail for sure 🤘 you guys were flying.
