by popular demand. educational stream from D to A, decided to not grind to S as i have to try harder and therefore talk less.

This is the last video for the C to S stream, mainly because the final day was filled with a bunch of laggy leavers.. so it was not very educational.

update: i double-checked my napkin math with a TL poster (TMNT) and korean proleagues comfortably exceed $2M in annual earnings alone. this is not including ASL or the flurry of minor showmatches and events that occur throughout the year. thread: tl.net/forum/bw-tournaments/605325-megathread-daily-proleagues live clip from my twitch stream.

smurfing needs to have permabans.
Amazing content. Fun and informative.
Dude im 99% sure i used to play w you
you make this look so ez
Sweet, thanks for the upload.
@Jaeyun ZvT. Would you recommend to practice 3h muta over more popular 2h muta for people below D rank? Does 2h muta heavily rely on being able to micro muta and do the actual damage to Terran with muta harass? Want to keep in mind that Terran can also go mech openings and some off meta builds like 1-1-1, two port wraith, 4 vulture run by or drop into 5 factory goliath. What is more universal and “catch all” build to practice at lower levels while focusing on mechanical improvements?
3h muta is better for C rank or lower because its easier to play. 2.5H is very difficult because it requires timing to get exactly 6 muta in time and not die from T 1st push. And then you have to deal actual dmg while teching and droning at the same time, it just requires more skills to execute.
frankly, i would recommend 2h muta if your goal is to continuously improve in the long run, just because it is so engrained in the meta + focusing on muta micro is extremely important for all zerg players. 2h muta is indeed a "catch all" as much as it can be, and 3h has weaknesses, particularly vs 1-1-1 that said, 3h muta is a completely fine opener for learning at the lower ranks, but you will eventually run into weaknesses as you push A/S ranks. in my lessons, i am showing 3h muta to demonstrate general ZvT concepts, rather than precise builds. for example, the power of mutas as it pertains to their "threat" and positional advantage vs. the actual damage done. or, general concepts for blocking T aggression when Z is at their weakest (pre-ultra) as well as banking gas up for an ultra explosion. these are all really important to learn, and can be demonstrated better with 3h muta since lots of 2h muta games end earlier.
Ur a mad man. 😅
happy little plague
thank u thank u thank u !!!!
I love this keep this going with zerg please!!!
love it!
My favorite type of content, thanks a lot for doing this series. We noobs appreciate that. ❤
Keep it up J!
First guy was like "Of course the 1400mmr guy has 300apm, has perfect micro and plays like an S rank, fucking bullshit"
overlord is abt timing of the 2nd.. if its 9Pool the overlord will be later, and therefore closer to the base. so if overlord is certain distance away when seen, it can determine the build
Is T next?!
not a particularly educational series, but just started up a terran to S challenge yesterday. stay tuned :)
You make it look so easy. Great videos! New sub.
just what i needed for learning Zerg, thank you Jaeyun!
Congratulations on your new son! My first child just turned one. I appreciate you taking the time to put these out while juggling parenting! 😅😅
thank you! parental leave gives me time to play more starcraft :)
hello master:) can i ask kindly what is your hotkey setup?
below is what i do from the start of the game, then slowly overrides as i get more stuff. 1 - 0 = nexus 1 - 3 = first scouting probe 4 = first pylon 4 = forge (replaced by various tech buildings, like robo in pvt) 3 = 2nd probe (that is making the nexus / forge, while leaving scouting probe on 1 - 2) 9 = 2nd nexus 5 = gateway then, as the game goes on.. my set-up is something like.. 1 - 2 = primary attackers (zealots in pvz, goons in pvt) 3 = secondary attackers (goons in pvz, zealots in pvt) 4 = spellcasters / support (high templars, shuttle-reaver, etc.) 5 - 7 = gateways 8 - 0 = nexus hope that helps!
@ Thank you so much!!! And key setup?Did you change zealot from Z And etc? Forwardly many thanks your answer!
as far as hotkeys: probe from p -> e pylon from p -> e patrol from p -> q everything else is the same.
I'm trying to punish the 11/12 hatch openers with cannon rushes, but they're more clownon rushes if you know what i mean. Could you do a mini episode about it?
oh thanks for doing this in this video already: ua-cam.com/video/7Eza52TkAbQ/v-deo.htmlsi=zJhkq7hVE2f19C4A&t=3075
yep, glad you found it. cannon rushes are essential if you open pylon search, because of the hit it takes to your econ to search so early + hatch-first being incredibly strong in zvp.
First game was insane
Im c rank in first game this type of zerg exist on all of my games Xd
Thank you so much for posting this. This is the specific type of knowledge I need to get past the plateau I've hit.
Do you ever play fastest map ever? If so I’d def cast some of your games
sometimes, when i'm bored. happy to play some sometime

Hi! New protoss here who found this video super helpful! I know this is an old video, but if any veterans are still down here who can answer a question: what is the logic behind hotkeying the first pylon? Especially if you're hotkeying the gate right next to it?
It's not necessary, but it just makes it easier to flip to it when I want to build something. It was hotkeyed before the gateway existed.
@jyntv ah gotcha! Thanks for the reply! That makes sense.
Damn one day? i thought that with protoss it only took 1 hour lol
haha can tell you're a coder
a couple videos of the playlist are hidden
ASL? you mean SSL :D
Is the plural not artoses?
It surprises me that more games don't do this - Twitch streamers have tons of viewers that would surely contribute
Chess has this to some degree, but yeah you don't really see it
explain where the booba chix in the front row of the asl studio come from
they're paid to be there, but by who?
Get uot of here, fake Goose
bonk
the girls play starcraft via university league. streamers are popular in korea outside of starcraft / gaming.
Way Brood war stays in curve/not stale is to constantly expand content scene to keep up instead of staying in 1v1 tryhard streams of a decade ago, expanding to noob teaching/teams/low level tournament+pro coaching/even vtubers. most streamers are in these clan "uni" teams and has entire scene revolving around it. There's separate league for each of those "scenes", so it's not only pros that take the entire pie and allow smaller fish to make a living, allowing entire scene to be healthy. This is huge to keeping the content diverse.
ya but foreigners dont see it on twitch, reddit or liquipedia so it doesnt exist xd
According to foreigners, only Serral exists and Koreans were never good
tried this over and over but Protoss just takes third fills with cannons and sends overwhelming army to kill all my hydras at same time, and thats in F league . Been playing BW for a year I was Diamond in SC2 still cant beat a Protoss in F league
Players at lower ranks play pretty wild, so you're going to see a lot of wacky things / variance. I would just advise to pay very close attention to the supply (drone + hydra count) at a very specific time (e.g. 7:30-8:30, etc.) and make sure you're at least getting close to those timings. P should not be able to rush 3rd before ~10 mins unless they're really far ahead.
higher apm than me with both hands
Gonna binge watch all of your vids starting now so I can get a better understanding of the fundamentals of SCR. Thank you for these vids 🎉
