Beta 390 RR-S seduces Rich while I try to break the new kid.
I had a similar experience on my first ride of my 2024 390 RS, my battery died when I was too low rpm in 2nd trying to climb a steep rocky hill, and it also overheated. Next time I will downshift and keep the rpm up. I don't think the stock battery is any good though, they replaced it under warranty, but I bought an aftermarket battery anyway. You also have to DO A CONNECTOR CHECK BEFORE YOUR FIRST RIDE. My radiator fan wasn't even plugged in, and I found a pin that was pushed out of the fuel map connector during assembly. The bike is nice, but the battery sucks, and the connectors are cheap and poorly connected from the factory. I disconnected every connector on the bike, cleaned them with contact cleaner, and used dielectric grease on every pin.
This sounds familiar to other stories I’ve heard. I recharged the battery, and it’s worked fine ever since. But … a trip through the bike to check bolts, connections and apply dielectric is a good idea. 🇮🇹!
Ive been riding singletrack/enduro forever and ive yet to enter a hare scramble because i dont know how to use the little scroll or time each section 😆 will they walk you through how to keep time or do you just ride and they figure it out?
The courses are pretty well marked with arrows, so roll chart not important for getting from a to b. Essential for time-keeping and a good score tho … enduros are a lot of fun. That’s what I keep telling myself.
I have the old 2007 200 and it might be the funnest bike I’ve owned. It bloody rips!
The Beta 200 is close - it’s pretty refined, but pulls all the way to the tippy top.
You said "damping" instead of wetting! Automatic like! Edit: I'd thumbs up again for the "counterbalance douche" comment!
Counterbalancer envy is real…
Hello, please show me your mounting
Which mounting?
I hughsided in turn 5 dammit
@@activelyanime3394 So easy to do! Which group/session?
also. It would be super cool if the pathfinders could cut some fresh singletrack around all of that destroyed garbage for 2027.
It's all state land. We (The Pathfinders) have our hands tied with new trail. We're not about to cut renegade trail and risk loosing our privileges for the entire forest. The trails were actually in pretty good condition this year even with the rain the night before.
I thought the trails were in very good condition - although I did skip five sections by accident 😬
Gonna be more rocks!
@@andrecontois8510 counting on it lol
HOLY never ending rockgardens. You know, history books tell us these rock upcroppings were harvested for the 240,000 miles of rock walls meandering through New England. I have trouble wrapping my head around the feasibility of this claim. Similar to the pyramids.
They didn’t realize they were actually just building enduro trails over the very long term.
A friend of mine lent me his 2019 V4S for a full week. WOT on that bike is something you simply can't put words on. The only thing I had to say to myself shortly after bursts of full throttle were "That's messed up...". I'll be at palmer this weekend, noob-ing it up on my Hypermotard 939. First track day and I can't wait!
Weather looks perfect 👍 let me know if you want to borrow tire warmers.
Just got my bike, and I can’t wait to ride here! I don’t have GPS and aren’t too familiar with the area. Are the trails well marked or easy to follow? Don’t want to get lost!
According to my sherpa: “The app called Trailforks has the route already mapped out download the app and then just run the app and act like a GPS”
Great job! Looked brutal. I'll have to do it next year!
I think you would crush this terrain - especially later when fitness really gets tested.
@@eddielawsonjr.8705 we'll find out next year
Do you have a tire recommendation for those slick rocks?
@@nosyjoe I run a V33S, which I like. My buddy says: “I like the IRC. JX8 which is a full gummy that gives me a lot of confidence. I am running that now and really like it. ircmoto.com/collections/extreme-enduro/products/jx8-gekkota (ircmoto.com/collections/extreme-enduro/products/jx8-gekkota) The first gummy that I ran that was from IRC was the extreme Enduro model IX - 09 GEKKOTA which is for hard Enduro racing that was also pretty good but it wasn’t really good for high speed fire Rhodes. It was mainly for Off-road hard Enduro so when I was on the road, I was kind of nervous with that tire. ircmoto.com/collections/extreme-enduro/products/ix-09-gekkota (ircmoto.com/collections/extreme-enduro/products/ix-09-gekkota) JX8 is a good all-around choice.”
@@eddielawsonjr.8705 what front? I often run VE33S rear too
Boy, you ask a lot of questions! lol - I’m kidding. I have to go check. Not really sure what I use up front!
I'm out of breath sitting in my chair! And yea, those tuliptrees do have a strong magnet, no matter how small they are :p
I was surprised - they look so unassuming!
Nice job . Think of all the extra training your getting in when you are picking your bike up of the ground. And no gym fees, win , win. lol. Great videos that you make , really enjoyed them , keep them coming.
lol - I like that angle! “I picked up my bike so many times, I deserve this beer.” And sticking it to the fitness club hegemony at the same time. You’re on to something here
I would love to ride there recreationally, on a dry day (like a Turkey Run). But that course looked brutal being wet and ultra slippery. That terrain was hero hero hero. Kudos to you for doing it.
I’m looking forward to going back and would definitely do a turkey run there 👍
Listening to your heart pounding through your chest and the bike steaming tells it all.Great video 😎
Almost rode off one of those bridges - but maybe that only happens when you’re on the ride with us! Lol see you soon 👍
Great video. Those hills are killers, then add rocks and add water for good measure. 💦
Great racing
Many of us were just trying to survive! lol
Two thumbs up for you.. I chickened out and didn't go this year. I went last year (2023) and it kicked my ass before the gas break. I would have houred out by gas so I bailed, that place was so rocky I can't count how many drops I had.
Last year was a genuine fail for me - I didn’t eat or drink enough and paid the price! I ate more this year and did a little better. Still a serious ass whipping, though!
@@eddielawsonjr.8705 I love the KP Turkey Run (November). They don't make it as hard as the Enduro event, and I can finish it. Heading to the Hancock Quarry Run in August. That was a great two day event last year. Hoping the weather isn't tropical.
Little Rhody is this weekend - it’s going to be hot, but I’ve been prepping with Chinese food, beer and no exercise. Put me in, coach!
Dude, this is awesome!
We had a blast! That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

I was that poor bastard picking my bike up out of that rut that I was dumb enough to drive into 😆😆😆
I hit the one 100 meters up the trail. Can’t fix stupid!
Another masterpiece it really should be called half hard Enduro. First time participants really didn’t know what they were getting into until they hit foxboro then it was too late.
All those guys who passed me made it look pretty easy, but … it was tough.

Really enjoyed the split screen videography. Just the thought of full throttle gives me anxiety.
Happy to hear the split screen works 👍 much easier than going full throttle, too.

Why not try a trackday?
@@eddielawsonjr.8705 got rid of all the crotch rockets, only Harley's and dirt bikes. Me and another x racer have been talking about racing again, we'll see
As to seeing creepy stuff in the woods, one time I was way out in the middle of nowhere riding in thousands of acres of woods. In the middle of the woods to the side of the trail, there was a spot where a fire was, some beer cans, and a 3 piece suit laying there with some other men's clothes.....The suit is what seemed really weird.
Check please
I am on the fence between a Beta 200 RR and a Beta 390 RR-S and thought I would do a search, and wouldn’t ya know there is a video for it! Thanks, lots of fun to watch and listen to. Still on the fence though. Leaning toward the 390 because it is also street legal.
Two great bikes - very different. Where do you ride and what kind of riding ? We got the 200 plated 👍
@@eddielawsonjr.8705 very cool I don’t think I can get the 200 plated here in Oregon. Mostly woods and singletrack here. I think I would prefer the 200 on trails but there are many dual sport opportunities here. I am also pushing 53 yo so don’t know if I want to work so hard with shifting and clutch work. But I usually prefer light and nimble. Oh dear God such a difficult choice!
The 390 is magical - the weight falls away once the wheels are rolling, and it’s very nimble. The 200 is more work, but not too much more, and the two stroke isn’t really fun. Very light, too. The 200 is not great on road sections. Fine for 10 mins, but the 390 is a lot better.
@@eddielawsonjr.8705 thanks so much this is really helpful.

Nice, thanks for the shout out on the trail name. We'll have to take you guys on the full tour. Nice job at King Philip Enduro, you kicked my butt. Looking into an ICO Checkmate so I don't have a result like that again 😢
Thanks for showing us the trail! Amazing. You don’t have to worry about me at future enduros. Just read the pie plates and slow down!
@@eddielawsonjr.8705 I burnt every check point but two 😣
@jmothers first you need to slow down, then you need to upgrade lol. Bad news for your fellow c super senior riders, I think you can only upgrade by winning the championship twice. Not sure about the rule, but I think that’s right.
Looked like a jun day. They should mark the trees that have magnets in them so you can steel clear of them ! How did you have your suspension setup ? For trails ,enduros, or H. S. .? Just curious to what work good for trailing ?
The trees and the tree magnets are all in a very large conspiracy. I would call it a vast conspiracy, but I think that phrase has already been used. I asked Factory Connection to set me up for Enduro racing at a fast C Class old person pace. I gave them my weight, and they did the rest.
Hey Eddie, I live in CT and have always wanted to check this place out to go ride my dirt bike there. I have my motorcycle license but I seen you said your bike has to be plated. When you get there does someone checked your dirt bike to make sure the bike is registered and all that? Was just curious on the whole process.
I haven’t seen any enforcement there - but I bet they would give you a hard time if you didn’t have a plate. If they saw you, that is. I suspect that if you don’t ride like a maniac on the road and parking area, you’re unlikely to draw that kind of attention.
Can’t figure out the comment but nice video. I can show u guys around sometime

Please don’t make excuses for this rodeo clown. Lol. 😆
I love how he’s talking about the bike like it’s a fine aged wine
These bikes are at least as complex and satisfying as a fine wine! Also: fewer calories.
Awesome trails! Location?
I’m sworn to secrecy! Trails are incredible. Also seems like all of this will be developed into commercial and residential before too long. So each ride feels a little wistful.
I have a Honda crf300l do you think I’ll have a problem
It will be a challenge, but certainly doable. Probably even fun! Some parts will be tough. It’s hard enough on a 210# two stroke!
First time watching your videos. Im a subscriber now. Keep the videos coming
Good to hear - I think you just motivated me to finish the next video!
Lol you guys

I remember the wayward cone on turn 9. Fun times.
Hahahaha! We just rewatched that video this week. I had forgotten all about that. No caution flag IIRC. Another reason not to ride at 100% at a trackday 👍. See you this season
I gotta get up there and scratch some plastics, lay some stripe threw that front stretch kink , couple rev limiter taps and pop a back shift
Fun track - good for track days 👍
