Truck Camping Winter Tips Frozen Water Woes
Переглядів 41614 днів тому
Quick tip for those who are new to truck camping. This will keep your water spout from freezing in colder weather and cracking/leaking. Works down into the 20s from my experience but for those in extreme climates you may want to consider a different storage solution all together. I always keep my water inside the vehicle overnight for a little extra warmth. Thank you for watching! Below are lin...

Truck Cap Camper DIY simple build
Переглядів 101 тис.Місяць тому
Video discussing my Truck topper camping build. Easy, DIY camper build with simple cuts and minimal hardware. If I can build this anyone can. With a few sheets of plywood and a couple hand tools this project took a couple days to complete. Most of it was built in my driveway. The only tricky part is getting whatever sealant you use to dry if the weather is cold. Luckily I made this modular so w...
Jeep Wrangler Camping Setup

How I have my Jeep Wrangler 2 door setup for camping or overlanding. Budget friendly. Making use of the small space available and being organized is key to camping in a smaller vehicle. TW 200 Off Road, hidden camp trail.
Переглядів 2656 місяців тому
Short trail ride to a hidden camp deep in the woods. A few more years and this will be totally overgrown and not accessible. At one time this was a popular camp that was well taken care of by someone or a group. Now those campouts are no doubt distant memories. Maybe later this year I will clear it out a bit, it is a great spot for grouse. #adventurebikes #dualsport #tw200 #lilthumper
Best Budget Adventure Bike 2024
Переглядів 2418 місяців тому
Sharing my thoughts on the best bargain Adventure bike for those on a budget looking for a new motorcycle. Seems 2024 is in stark contrast to previous years when "bikes sell themselves" and "non negotiable" fees. Very little inventory left few choices for overpriced new models. Times have changed and some models are gathering dust on showroom floors ready for deals to be made.
RV Lift kit, lifting a travel trailer with spring over axle trailer conversion.
Переглядів 3,7 тис.9 місяців тому
Need more clearance for your trailer? In this video I show an overview of what is involved converting my RV travel trailer from spring under to spring over. With a few hours of work and a welder swapping your trailer to spring over is a fairly simple task. It can help add some much needed clearance for dry camping or boondocking. Keeping the drains up above rough roads is a primary concern for ...
Jeep Hardtop Droning Noise, Cabin Pressure fix.
Переглядів 969 місяців тому
Does your Jeep hard top make a deep droning or over pressure, bass like noise that hurts your ears or gives you a headache? I have found a simple solution that helped me for under $50. I believe it is a simple issue, caused by the flexible sides, windows and top all moving at a frequency that causes pressure on peoples ear drums as a loud stereo or altitude would. I have no idea why it is only ...
Truck Cap Camper setup, no build. Minimalist.

Short video showing my truck topper set up for camping. A very minimalist no build setup. Pretty budget friendly. At some point I will probably build a permanent full time camper setup, but for now I just want to get ideas and feel out how important different features will be to me. And how comfortable I am in all four seasons including winter truck camping. Below is a list of commonly used cam...

Loving the channel, new subscriber here. I started a page of my own recently and having a blast with it. Keep up the good work, can't wait to watch more, be safe.
New Sub here Great video i just found your channel and am diggin it, cant wait to watch more, Thanks
What kinda bed topper you got
That's a nice build. For you not being a carpenter you did good.
Very nice job , really enjoyed the video. My son and I did a build in his truck. Great job.
I subbed and I will give you 10 thumbs up.
PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!
Great job do you have any ideas on doing a surburban
I like it, you built all of it well and simple!👍🏻👍🏻
Great idea
So, what is that power setup you have on the table??
Power supply is the Bluetti EB3A. Got it on sale a few years ago. Decent little unit, works great for short trips charging camera, phones and running a few lights on.
I think it's spot on. You nailed it!!
Thank You!
Well done and thought out. Now let me see that Jeep build…. I hope it’s a WJ!
Thanks, Jeep build is just the cookie cutter wrangler lol. Had a few XJs and TJ in the past... wish I would have kept my last XJ!
Great job 👍
Good job, I’ll copy.
Nice build-out! I especially like the space for the fishing rods 😄For that drawer at the foot of the bed, it looks like you have enough room to put a metal handle on either side. Those would help you carry the drawer around when packing, or maneuvering inside the cab. Otherwise, very solid build. Hope you get years of enjoyment out of it.
Thank you! The handles idea is a good one, it can be a bit heavy when full.
I like it myself
Nice job, it looks comfortable.
Nice build. I've been thinking about one for my own truck. But this one is the first I've seen that I think I might try to make one similar.
Thanks! It is kind of a mashup inspired by many others here on YT... was a fun build!
Just got a wrangler. Gives me a headache. Only out 300 miles on it and don’t want to drive it due to this.
Buying this was the biggest mistake I have ever made. Bought a low mile one (50k), never off road with a well documented service history, was never off road... I took a chance lol. Have had nothing but problems, oil cooler failed, tailgate hinges, suspension completely sacked out and riding on bumpstops, door seals leak, hard to shut. Dash looks like it will fall off when on dirt roads, climate control panel went bad. Headlights flicker and don't always shut off. After replacing the oil cooler and seeing how cheaply made the engine components are I will probably sell it at a loss before a head gasket blows or transmission fails. Great little rig for trail riding, just don't trust it.
It’s a shame. They are awesome, but garbage at the same time. I leased a 2024 4XE because they are basically giving them away. Luckily I only have a two year lease.
Nice build!
Nice job
simple, very functional and meets the need for comfort during overlanders
How do you close the tailgate when you're inside? Do you reach over and lift?
At the moment yes. Working on a better solution that wont be a tripping hazard or get in the way, like a removable strap or something.
Thank you!! Fun to watch!! 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Impressive!!! So well thought out!! Love it!! Thanks for sharing! ❤
Winter camping is always fun. Here on Vancouver Island, it rains for most of the winter so not as much fun. I guess it's a toss up. Rain means it's not freezing cold but it seldom stops whereas snow means cold but it doesn't snow for weeks or months at a time. I think it's easier to dress for snow than it is for rain. Still fun though.
Definitely fun camping in the winter, less people and no bugs! I totally agree with the rain V snow.... much easier to stay warm and dry with cold snow than rain!
This is a great idea! It does the job!
Perfect winter camping weather. No wind with some snow on the ground so you can track animals.
i love guys who get inspired and into stuff like this, its like when youre a kid and new toys. its inspiring and charming.
Great videos, subscribed
My wife and I are enjoying your videos! I too have a red Tundra, 2021! My set up is similar to your, only not as well done as yours… Please keep making your adventure videos, you’re inspiring to to go out in my Tundra!…
Thank you for the comment, really enjoy making these videos! Do you winter camp in yours also?
@ I took a trip this past summer from Pa to North & South Dakota and camped the whole time in the truck, and I’ve stayed in it in January and February a few times but I haven’t really winter camped with it YET!…
Where did you get that jug, brand?
Coozment 3.2 gal, I was skeptical but really like it. found it on Amazon, amzn.to/4gp9GyI
Thanks for the video. Can't wait to take my Aliner on her maiden voyage. I just don't want to go alone. I've never camped before. 😬
Nice! Those Aliners look like a pretty good option, easy to tow! Hope your first trip is a success, solo can be stressful at first but the solitude is great to clear the mind. When we bought our first camp trailer we cheated and just camped in the yard the first night to make sure everything worked, the kids thought it was great ha ha ha.
To cold here ,last night -6 , so I camped in my garage with wood stove , slept in my Jeep wrangler. Take care
Ha! Nice, we are pretty lucky. Lows generally only occasionally dip below single digits here. Most late winter temps are around 15-25f. Not a bad temp, cold enough to keep roads from bogging but not so cold its numbing to be in.
I am a carpenter and I am impressed thanks for the inspiration
Hiw do you heat it in cold weather
I generally just cold camp. I have used the Buddy heaters in the past but do not like them, had 2 of 3 fail, flame ups/regulator fails and once they get a little dust on the element they no longer burn clean, they also produce moisture while burning. I recently purchased a diesel heater and am trying it out for this season, dry heat and no flame up as the heater is outside. Honestly most of the time I am either hunting, fishing or some other activity where just getting up and moving out is priority and don't miss having heat.
Just subscribed. I am going to start camping. Looking for ideas. Not as exciting as you.
Great set up , congrats.
Thank you!
I like your setup but a thought just occurred to me to put my stove on a slider underneath the like where your drawer is .. then get an enclosure that would go over my open tailgate and hatch.. thanks for sharing !
That sounds like a great idea! Rear enclosure would be nice to keep the elements out.
nice build, thanks..
Well done looks like alot of fun all the nessary things nicely done
Thank you, really enjoying it so far!
I like that spout on that water jug
Good tip!
Very well thought out. Excellent job.
Looks great! Give me some ideas for my WJ build. Very limited on space but makes things a little easier seeing someone elses setup. Around how much did the materials cost you?
I think the plywood was close to 300, its pretty expensive but I did use mostly finished grade so that adds a little more cost. I had some of the other hardware and hinges from other projects, screws and misc. I did have to buy some deck seal and boiled linseed oil... I would say all in 4-450 ish. I can appreciate the limited space issue, my other rig at the moment is a 2 door wrangler, it definitely helps having good organization ha ha ha! Hope your WJ build goes well!
Very well thought out. The tailgate table is great.
Very nice work for a non-carpenter!
Great build. Good job.
Thanks!
Oh fun
I love it
