How did you prepare for some of these questions??? Especially the couldn't find a vein question because I personally am a hard stick and people just go find someone else after trying to find another good vein.

@@Innocentbeauty009 hey sunshine 🌞 It’s helpful to take Covid and wrap around your upper arm and then tie the tourniquet on top of the Coband to tie the tourniquet tighter than usual. Also, have the patient drink more water than usual. Or get a warm-hot water pour it into a large glove 🧤and place it on the sit for blood draw. If all fails then I would recommend a forearm draw or a hand draw.

@@laishasanchez2990 hey:) I’m going to post the questions in a separate video with answers still working on it should be out by next week. So I got the job offer at quest after my job interview with them. Unfortunately I turned them down because I had other options. I chose a hospital job instead. So when I did my online interview it was 2 hiring managers they asked me : 1. Tell us a little about yourself? (I told them about myself) 2. Why should we hire you for this position? (I told them that it’s always a passion of mine to help others and serve our community. By helping others in the process of diagnosing a patient is fulfilling. I have the highest regard for the laboratory because lab tests results is 90-95% how Doctors treat and diagnose their patients) 3. Tell us any problem that happened in your previous job and what did you do about it? (I gave an example of patient wait times before drawing their blood. Many patients are fasting and they get upset if their wait time is long. So I gave an example of that and how I gave positive feedback to calm the patients down) 4. What is most important to you as a phlebotomist? (I told them what’s most important to me is cleanliness and a positive inviting personality. a well-kept laboratory, you should note a clean and orderly workplace. Floors should be free of hazards. Never leave carelessly discarded objects, dropped objects, or spilled material on the floor. Always keep tables, chemical hoods, floors, aisles, and desks clear of all material not being used. Because cleanliness and a positive attitude are the top 2 reasons why a company will get horrible ratings) 5. What do you do if there’s a problem that arises with your co worker? (I told them I had no issues in the past with any coworker and if I did I would immediately tell my supervisor to have a mediation) 6. What is the most important step before you draw blood? Patient Identification:Identifying the patient first name last name and date of birth) 7. What tube test color does a Apt test go into? What tube test color does a cbc test go into? What tube test color is for a chemistry test? What color tube test is for a timed test? And what’s the order of draw for those tests/tubes? Answers/order of draw: APT:Light Blue tube top Chemistry test example a Lipid test: Gold/Tiger top CBC: Lavender tube top Last tube Gray top: Lactic Acid 8. What test tube color goes into a glucose blood test? Gray tube top 9. What do you do when you encounter a hard stick patient? (You offer them water, and if they are limited on their water intake you then get a heel warmer and place it on your draw site and if you ran out of those you get a large glove and fill it with warm water as a heating pad and leave it for 2-5 minutes. Veins should pop up easily.) Those are all the questions I remember and I got hired but turned it down. They also loved my bubbly inviting personality that was a plus for them and the fact I wasn’t nervous. Good luck! You got this!

Starting my Phelbotomy class soon. I took a course on it when I got my MA degree. But I didn’t like being a MA. I do indeed like phelbotomy and EKG. But there’s no program in my area for EKG program so I’m going to get my phlebotomy certificate again. It’s been 12 years since I go back and get a medical certificate or etc. I worked as a PCT/CNA for 5 months and oh boy. I can honestly say that’s a very hard labor , like mentally and physically job. I couldn’t last long. It was too much for me. I’m glad to start over and see what I want to do instead. For sure, I don’t think I want to go for my nursing. Some people like it and yet for them. But for me. I see it all and being a rn or etc isn’t for me. There’s more to it than that lol.
