I love this conversation!!! I have always wanted my own tv show. I have never stopped believing it. I make content, cover things I would want to if I had a show. It’s all practice for me! Never cared what people thought BUT I know that everyone in my life knows “Pierrea has always said she is going to be on tv”. Great interview found mels book very helpful when a friend was trapped on abusive relationship it helped me understand what she was going through. Fortunately she has managed to leave and is getting on very well with her life now. It was interesting to hear how Mel is moving on years later and great initiatives with the HR departments hopefully it will be rolled out across many more companies.

I think AD is beautiful, she’s completely stunning, and seems to have such a sweet and mature spirit! However, I do disagree with some of the statements she said during this talk. There is already so much hyper- sexualization, and over- sexualization within our community, and unfortunately that seems to be the front and representation of us, although we try to sly away and remove that stereotype from us. There is so much social and historical history that has affected us generations down generations. We as a collective (Black women) were only defending her from “Okay Body” because on such an important, sacred, and spiritual day like a wedding, it was just very uncouth, and tasteless. There were so many other words he could’ve used to describe her beauty, and he failed at that. I hope she does find someone who loves and appreciate her the way she should be.. without leading with their private and instead their heart. I also hope that she establishes some boundaries to protect herself from men that’ll hurt her when only seeking her body.

Im 28, and at 26 i date a 41 yr okd man (he was fine) but he turn out to abuse me very badly both physically n verbally. He wanted to control me. Ive escaped but i know what mel’s tlking about n its HORRIBLE LIFE TO LIVE. I hope all women being abused escape :((( life is so short. I hear a quote tht helps me “one day ur going to wake up, and the wrinkles will be there, and you’ll ask yourself what happened to time?” It makes me cry, dont give ur life to a piece of trash.

I think AD is such a beautiful person , but she comes off as insecure, putting too much emphasis on he own body. I don't see her as conceited, but she strikes me as someone who really needs that validation from a man, which is unfortunate because she has so much more to offer. As for clay, he strikes me as shallow. I guarantee that his type is a light-skinmed woman that he can fetishise. That's usually the type that shallow Black men go for. I say this as a light-skinned wiman myself, who's been chased after by Black men, just because of my light completion. Yes, I happen to be a very nice and down-to-earth woman, but these men would chase after me without even knowing a thing about my character. Clay strikes me as one of those men. I pray that he truly gets the help he needs in therapy and stops emphasising so much on looks. All shades are beautiful!

I quit 2 years ago, the first year it was like rediscovering my body again but i was NOT used to not being on it. Periods were off, cramping was worse yet I felt soooo much healthier
