Recorded live in San Antonio at ITG 2018 using an iPhone 6s. No edits or enhancements. Jon’s Custom Classic is basically the current The PUJÉ v4. Same bell (including bend) and valves. Ooh the Mid Vee is maybe the best of both mouthpiece worlds for this horn. With some extra air in the sound as a bonus. Gorgeous horn, Brent!

I like the deep V better... Coming from trombone playing, now on flugel, I missed the all notes tuning of my trombone, and found nearly only trumpet/cornet maker to make an all tuning cornet was Olds in the old days... Zig Kanstul made them proly...
I love the sound but, other than the bell, what is the difference between the shorty and shortay?
The SHORTAY uses thicker gauge tubing and different bracing to match the thicker gauge bell.

Wow, nice tune and cool horn Brent! I still play my Kanstul copper-bell flugel, as well as my unique Shorty/deep-vee MP you sold me a few years ago. Love them all, and by the way I just had a third water-key installed on your Shorty, by a real ex-Burbank-Benge craftsman working now at "Anaheim Band Instruments" down here in SoCal..He also recently restored my old Burbank Benge that was my very first horn sold to my parents in '67!

Hey, I have an idea. Why don’t I loan it to you and you can play all the 4th valve notes you want! It’s my personal horn and just sits in a case most of the time. You can come down during spring break and pick it up as I should also have those new prototype mouthpieces in.
