Dashain 2081 Celebration वडा दशै २०८१
Dashain 2081 Celebration वडा दशै २०८१
Dashain is one of the most important and widely celebrated festivals in Nepal, marking a time of joy, family gatherings, and cultural traditions. In 2081 BS (2024 AD), the celebration maintained its vibrant charm, deeply rooted in Hindu traditions, with an emphasis on community, blessings, and renewal.
1. Worship and Rituals: The festival, lasting for 15 days, began with Ghatasthapana, where households planted jamara (barley seeds) and worshiped Goddess Durga. Each day had specific rituals, with many families visiting temples, conducting pujas, and honoring different forms of Goddess Durga, seeking blessings for prosperity and protection from evil.
2. Tika and Jamara: On the main day, known as Vijaya Dashami, family elders applied tika (a mixture of red vermillion and yogurt) and placed jamara on the younger members of the family, symbolizing their blessings. This tradition fosters unity and respect across generations, bringing extended families together.
3. Festivities and Feasting: Dashain is a time of feasts and delicious food. Households prepared special dishes such as mutton curry, sel roti, kheer (rice pudding), and other delicacies. Families also gathered for elaborate feasts, sharing happiness and connecting with loved ones.
4. Kite Flying and Fairs: Dashain wouldn’t be complete without the vibrant sight of kites dotting the sky. People, especially children and young adults, flew kites as a symbol of freedom and joy. Local fairs, swings (ping), and community events created a festive atmosphere in towns and villages across Nepal.
5. New Clothes and Gifts: Dashain is a time for new beginnings, and many people bought new clothes and gifts for their loved ones. Shops and markets were filled with people buying items to mark the auspicious occasion.
6. Traveling to Villages: In Nepal, Dashain is also a time for people living in cities to return to their hometowns. This created a lively scene of reunions as families gathered from various regions and even from abroad.
Environmental Awareness: In recent years, there has been an increased awareness of sustainable celebrations, including eco-friendly tika powders and decorations to reduce the environmental impact.
Overall, Dashain 2081 was a grand celebration of Nepalese culture, symbolizing victory, unity, and gratitude.

Rocky here bro
Well done, bhai for opening a restaurant that is not just a restuarant but a hangout for us to reminisce about our childhood days. Bagus!
He has spoken to Wong Kan Seng when Wong was deputy PM. It must be 13 years ago. Wong has retired from the post in 2011.
This is not a new issues,it has been like this for many years in Singapore. But will this young man join the military service if Singapore gives him a chance to stay & work as terms and conditions.
Omg serious issue British government should consider about this 😢
It's very hard to singapore gc's family. Singapore never accept them as a Singaporean where as they contribute towards the nation.
good Job keep it Up 35❤
good Job khaling ❤
i think its the contract that singapore can't keep the gurkha children in singapore. They need to respect other country's too. They can't take nepal children to serve in the country. Nepal need people to serve their country too. In another word, Singapore can't just take every single nepal family, they need to have something left for them too. Its a mercenaries contract. This contract came in to keep nepal as a existing country. Just imagine been many years gurkha served the British, singapore police force how many families are there, if they took all of these families away from nepal, nepal won't exist today.
Hope that our new Prime Minister will look into it.
If contract already stated and your father signed on the dotted line. I believe the contract was fully explained to your father at that time. Since you have a good education, just go work anywhere. Everything is a problem when you start a new working life anywhere. Don’t blame SG and seems like you are correct about your opinions. Please don’t forget that SG gave a better life to your family and your better self for many many years.
Our singapore gurkhas fought for Singapore and for terrorism. But the country singapore never see the equal rights for pension to our retired singapore gurkhas. Sadly their family has to stay in nepal after retirement
😊
Speaks well and a sense of style! With nursing course she could easily take on a frontline role facing/serving customers, and do well!
Pasdhach❤❤❤❤❤❤
👍
Tnx
I really missed Singapore as I was a ex Singapore bhanji also ❤❤
SG already given their children the environment to build n equip their abilities to go anywhere in the world, besides their well paid salary. SG government has to consider many other aspects of the whole society n country. There must be good reasons for what SG govt is doing. Cannot be sentimental. Go apply for work visas etc. to work here.
Nothing sad about your predicament.Neither is it Injustice nor Unequality. Merely being highly emotional about leaving the country you were born and raised in. Born and raised in a 1st world, couldnt handle the reality of coming back to your own motherland ( or more likely couldnt handle the thought of coming back to a 3rd world !! ) then instead of working and helping your own motherland, you flee to another first world to pursue your career. what bullshit!! In Nepal we are facing a phenomenon called Brain Drain and you are contributing to the statistics. You dont even experince or relate to the plight of an actual Singaporean Citizen.. You just want the most ( AND MORE THAN YOU NEED ) out of the utmost necessity you had provided by the Government of Singapore. Nonetheless, you were an insulated, privileged, semi-residence of singapore without the pressure of what an actual Singaporean citizen has to endure. In regards to the living cost, housing problems, etc. When you leave your insulated privileged ass back to Nepal, you enjoy higher standards of living compared to the majority of your neighbours in Nepal. Ie, your father dont have to work and gets monthly pension from the Singapore Government, being able to build a semi to decent house in Nepal. I see some of the Son of exGurkha riding around in their expensive motorbikes and frequenting clubs and whatnot on a daily basis! And dont try to include the plight of your mother or the Wives of Gurkhas into your emotional baseless arguments. Realistically speaking , maybe less than half of them are educated or qualified to work in Singapore. They are there because of the husbands. You were born there because of your Father. Call yourself born and raised in Singapore but you cant even sing the national anthem correctly. what mari kita yaya papaya. When you came back to your 3rd world motherland did you face any problems and difficulties? Did you experience the same plight and pain like the rest of the 22 year olds in your 3rd world country? Let me emphasize something. You couldve easily applied for higher studies in a reputed/top colleges/instituition in Nepal. Its not like theres nothing in Nepal!! The pace of life in Nepal may be slow, the money you recieve may not be satisfying but at the end of the day, you will still lead a proper standard of living with meat every dinner!! You are speaking as though when you return back, you would experience hell without your belly filled, with no roof or shelter !! This is Nepal you are talking about! Youre not returning back to Hong Kong nor are you returning back Africa where there is actual poverty, actual instability and actual lack of facility and system !!! Look in the mirror before engaging in a causeless fight with no purpose, goal and vision. You cant blame your fate for being a Nepalese by blood and a daughter of the worlds ferocious renowned warriors ! Jai Nepal! Jai Mahakali! Jai Gorkhali!
Old experience 😢
Ekdam informative video!! Hami sabai lai estai information sunnu man xha the efforts by the Gurkhas and what happened. The different discriminations we face. Regarding : 1. Widows 2. Working conditions of the Gurkhas 3. No working allowed for children of spouse 4. Pension annual review of all Gurkhas 5. Settlement rights 6. Rights to choose life partner And many more Hami lai I think we want to know the efforts made by previous mama who went to Singapore and approached the Singapore government. British ko bata tara I think we know how to bring changes abo and not waste money and time with international lawyers. We need to show the clear discrimination to the Singapore Gurkhas and make it into a national issue for the governments to come together and review the treaty. Then only changes aaucha British Gurkhas haru knows how to get headlines and bring attention they even went for a hunger strike we might have to do the same if things don’t go as planned. Respect the good work !!
Human right / wrong 🇸🇬
English subtitles pani rakhnu paryo
In terms of loyalty, I strongly feel that the Gurkha children who were born and raised in Singapore are far more better than those from China.
Mero bicharma yo jimmewari British sarkarko ho.khasma bhannu parda British le Manpower agency ko roll gare jasto vayena ra?
Mind country to pay you work here,in your country you have nothing
Singapore has helped your family aloes, don't think you wanted to be a Singaporean, now Singapore is too crowded please leave mind country
Finish is finished, Singapore had already helped your family, don't talk nonsense 😂
One thing about your community living in Singapore as a SPF Gurkha is everything is provided for by the gov. None of your families here are exposed to the real cost of living. If there’s a comparison with, then the Malaysians will understand and identify; especially those who commute daily to study in Singapore. It’s easy to say that it’s unfair to you, but we do have a community across the border who are not guaranteed anything and paid a higher price for their education and housing. No, I won’t apologise for your dilemma considering the benefits you had from your Gurkhas father. If there’s anything to tweak about the policy is that we should have the first option to take the best and brightest Gurkha's child for our essential services on a case by case basis. Living in Singapore is not cheap as per your insulated perspective. I don’t think you know the word tuition. You are welcome anytime to visit your friends in Singapore, compare to those who refused to serve NSF. I don’t think the mindset of the Gurkhas fathers have expanded since living here, as per the parliamentary debate decades ago, and not many of your fellow Gurkha's kids are top in the league as the Singapore’s bests. Like the other developed nations, we have to take the best talents to build our country given the limited living space. Is it fair to poor Singaporeans household with similar starting point like yours, with fathers not guaranteed an iron rice bowl like your Gurkha father? The sensible answer is NO! Come back and spend a week in a budget hotel and see how unfair life is, had you been on the other side.
100% correct
As someone who watched the parliament proceeding of the Gurkhas debate decades ago, let me help put this in perspective. The decision was not made without compassion or empathy, but rather with great care for your community for your commitment. Ethnicity plays but a small part. The gov, led by Mr KY Lee clearly stated the reasons behind the decision. Compared to those who fought for the British empire in the wars, yet the Gurkhas had to demand that their sacrifices be respected and recognised, the Gurkhas will never be on our frontline but our citizens army like myself, that’s our moral high ground. In comparison to our people with similar academic qualification, the Gurkhas are paid handsomely beyond our citizens, the only criteria for the job is the superior fitness level and the art of warfare. Notwithstanding, Gurkhas do leave for home after their contracts expire, were able to buy land and build houses and have a comfortable retirement in Nepal or elsewhere of their choice, except Singapore. Compare this with the Singaporeans without the high financial benefits and possibly other benefits extended to their families, it would have created a class disadvantage for Singaporeans. It is harsh but as Mr KS Wong said correctly that Singapore had given you something invaluable for your family and for your future generations to come to build on for yourselves and country. You are not alone in this dilemma but the mentioned communities here too. I met a young man nearby Windsor castle studying in the UK recently, who has the same desire as you and he accepts the same said. As a Singaporean, we would not forget friends like you and would love for you to continue your affection for our land and your visits is fondly remembered by your friends here. The reason why Singapore is so attractive is because we work hard for it to be successful and prosperous, our neighbours have the same starting point and our retirees are looking for alternatives to Singapore. Life is not easy to manoeuvre but we have to make the best choice possible for the cards we have.
Let more truth story come out.
👍
good job bro khaling ❤
Tnx dai
Sad story Singapore Gurkha children and families
What would be a situation if a Gurkha married to a Singaporain ? Can get a PR or punishment?
This is not the fault of the offsprings’ they should be given a choice whether to stay in Singapore or leave. They are as good a citizen as a Singaporean.
The government should just objectively view their skills sets to approve their stay in sg
I am totally shocked at this TRUTH. WHAT A DISGRACE TO THAT MINISTRY CHONG WHOS HAS FAILED. HE has forgotten his roots. He should be sent back to CHINA. Tthey bring in all the Filth from Bangla , Pakistan & many other Fanatic Countries. They have FAILED to pay their Respect in Gratitude towards the clean, honest Gurkhas who served & protected their S'pore. What an Exploitation, a BLOODY DISGRACE. No shame, no Respect & No Honour to this country & Govt. A BLOODY DISGRACE & SHAME...they have shown their TRUE FILTHY MIND & CHARACTER. A DISGRACE.
Singapore is known for a being a migration country. As long as you CAN contribute to the island nation and society we should accept them especially when they put up their entire life to serve Singapore. If they are willing to put their lives at risk to protect Singapore, WE should also reciprocate in kind for their willingness to give up life up for Singapore security.

Regardless of where you were born, people that serve in the military should be given citizenship or PR if they want it. Serving in the military should be seen as a privilege that you may pay back with your life. I am surprised that SG has not taken this into account and honor the people who were there when needed, when SG Army was at its infancy and they serve as a strong deterrent. A bit like I protected you and now you take it out on my family and make them suffer. No. Do the right thing, SG.
So if we give in to these Gurkha then next will be the maids from Philippines, Myanmar, Indonesia, India and etc.... no end. The best solution is to stop using Gurkha anymore.
