How to tie a figure 8 knot to tie into a climbing harness, a figure 8 on a bight and a follow through figure 8. All climbers LOVE the figure 8, but how many of you use the other two methods?

how to build a 3:1 mechanical advantage rope system
Переглядів 10310 місяців тому
Whether you are hauling a heavy load, pulling a rescue team back up a cliff face, helping a climbing partner through a few tough moves or a hunter that needs to hang a deer or an elk, this is for you!! All pulleys can be changed out for just a carabiner, you will add some friction, but the advantage stays the same. As always, put questions comments or anything else in the comments. Edited by Vi...
how to tie a Purcell Prusik for rope ascending or multiple other applications.

In search and rescue we use a purcell prusik to attach ourselves to a litter to control it and keep the subject safe during an evacuation. These can also be used as a PAS in climbing, or anywhere else you need a quickly adjustable sling. Edited by VideoGuru:videoguru.page.link/Best

How to tie a double overhand bend. How to connect 2 ropes for a double rope rapell.

This is my favorite and most trusted method for tying 2 ropes together! for full length double rope rappels this is my go to. when you are reading through different climbs on mountain project and it says double rope rap, this is what it means. You tie 2 ropes together and rap down on that. A 60 meter rope gives you a 60 meter rappel with this method, but before you trust your life to a knot, ma...

Do you need an attachment point in the middle of a rope? Do you need to bypass a bad section in your rope? Well here you go!! I have also used this knot as a secondary safety anchor point in a single point rope anchor or when rope soloing. As usual, i can answer any question that you have just leave them in the chat. How to tie a bowline knot, backed up with a double overhand.
Переглядів 42110 місяців тому
Ahh the bowline (pronounced bolen)!!! The age old trustiest ( is that a word?) knot to ever be thought up!! My most common use case for this knot is by far anchor building. So you know of a crag with top access and no anchors, but there happens to be a nice selection of solid trees or massive boulders at the top. This should be your go to knot for building a rope anchor at the top so your less ...

Also known as the munter mule.
Munter Mule is two hitches stacked…the Munter and the Mule….this is the Munter, not the Mule.
Bro that’s a munter
There is a "better" way(s) to use the VT Prussic, It involves offsetting to one end then wrapping that end around ~4 times. Then wrapping both ends around crossing front and back over each other down the rope until both ends are used up. Then use a carabiner through the holes. It is one way, and works excellent as a third hand beneath, instead of above. Thanks for sharing!
Gotta agree that this other (4 plus cross) is better, especially for releasing in the upward direction.
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
Which length of Beal jammy do you use?

Cross
Thanks for this!
Sure thing!
