The End of the Line is a powerful film about one of the world's most disturbing problems - over-fishing. Advances in fishing technology mean whole species of wild fish are under threat and the most important stocks we eat are predicted to be in a state of collapse by 2050. The film points the finger at those most to blame, including celebrity chefs, and shows what we can do about it. This is no...

Based on the predictions of a scientific article that got published in Science with its glaring statistical flaws. There was actually a scientific article that showed how Science and Nature, although they publish some great science, also publish shit articles that are great for sales. This....was one of those articles.

If we really want to save aquatic animals what should be the obvious solution is to not eat them. All of the nutrients we need in order to thrive can be obtained more healthfully, humanely, and environmentally responsibly from plant sources, including vegan seafood: www.FishFeel.org/seafood What we need is for people to genuinely respect our fellow sentient species, and we won't accomplish that as long as they are needlessly being consumed.

_Believe what you want. But the logical conclusion is overdue._ _Its time for me to go my own way and separate myself from the parasites attached to my soul._ _And that includes yourself._ I'm sorry I tried to think of a better ending but I just want to be done with this whole thing. 😳👐

Fish aren't a "resource". They are sentient being who don't want to be killed. They don't exist to be your "resources", they exist for their own reasons. Stop protecting "your" "resources", start protecting the freedom and body autonomy of other sentient beings.

(FAQ: nothing i'm saying here has to do with comparing or equating people with animals)

The point is that it doesn't belong to those who ravish it for profit and degradation, the "us" refers to shared locality, regional and global, humanity and our ability to be compassionate and organised. The "us" is the "all" and not the few .

I read somewhere that reacreational fishing only accounts for 40% of the fish taken throughout a year and commercial vessels account for the other 60% ive watched a few videos of the commercial boats bringing in their nets and having over 60 tons of fish in 1 net on 1 boat in 1 day now when there are literally hundreds of thousands of these vessels going to sea for a net full on a daily basis around the world, I don't believe recreational fisherman take nearly as much as assumed by whomever calculates these types of things, I personally am a recreational fisherman I fish when the weather is right on almost a daily basis I have never caught a Bluefin tuna nor any species other than bonita, I would one day like to, and I believe (keep in mind im 23 years old and have fished since I could walk from the florida keys all the way up the coast to maine and many places in between but I can remember growing up and catching fish just by pure chance and in today's fisheries just baiting your hook doesn't always mean your going to get bit) if something is not done soon before its to late the future of the world is at stake to put it into perspective, and everybody that consumes these fish of the sea need to take a step back and look at what is going on, we complain about prices of things but yet we still demand them...that is why cost goes up, its not about riches and wealth it is about life we cannot survive without our natural resources but greed runs this world and I believe that if we just take away the nets and put strict regulations on all species of sea life around the world now or within the near future that in a 5-8 year period of time many species would make an overwhelming come back, remeber everything that lives and breathes will fight to survive, nature is wild and can do wild things if you just allow it to adapt and the only way to get more bluefin is to leave more Bluefin the big ones breed the little ones are born the little ones then may become partial feed for the juvenile fish who are feed for the giants its the food chain and a species may not deplete just because of humans but we are the only species that can recognize the problem and do something to change it we as humans control what happen and the way I see it the greed in the world only cares about today and not tomorrow the devastation of our planet started with the discovery of coal......millions and millions of years of life and within less then 200 years of giant industry and growth we have watched many populations deplete to extinction before we could even learn enough about them to do anything to help the only way we stand a chance to fix a problem like this is to do something big and do something now

The problem is that we take the food source of not just humans but other species, and that sooner or later all species or life will come to an end.the real problem is the fact that humans exist. Take away humans, within 50 years life would flourish.

It is still not feasible for everyone to be vegan... Veggies and fruits and pretty much everything else except animal product requires nitrogenous fertilizer. Our main route of synthesising that requires hydrogen gas made from natural gas. Unfortunately that puts CO2 into the atmosphere.

Don't eat fish, you don't need it. People are literally destroying the oceans for money, money is for keeping track of things, money isn't able to replace food, remember that when you miss the taste of fish from going vegan, or you'll miss the taste of meat because everyone overused everything and it's gone.

If everyone was vegetarian, that would just lead to another set of problems. There's only so much land for farming, and we/humas are taking up too much of that land as it is. The real problem is too many people and mismanagement of the food we have.

I would love to be around when the humanity ends; to be the only man left on the planet and watch nature come back to life; fill the oceans and seas and the forests to be in bloom. It would take thousands of years to fix the damage we've done, but just to over-look and live those years, then slowly let myself wither away knowing that everything is going to be OK; what a wonderful fantasy.

It's alright to eat fish dude, just not the Bluefin tuna because they are too impressive and intelligent to eat. They are warm blooded so they're very powerful and very smart. The oxygen rich blood gives them the same conditions as us, even the same flesh color, bluefin are no ordinary fish. They feel pain greatly, we should spare them from such slaughters.

saying italians only eat pastas and pizza is absolutely racist. Thats like saying americans only eat burger when really they were one of the reason for overfishing in canada. Italians eat fish and seafood and they eat alot of it. bring on the statistics from a reliable source.
