    Do you think that I could use a cheap light timer for the pump and do 30min on, then an hour off in a hybrid system? I'm curious cause I have one on hand

      I have been there my friend! The 30 min timers are not ideal, but I've had success with 30 on 60 off until they got bigger then I ran 90 off.

    I am pretty new to this. Started with a smal Aerogarden and it's now in my pantry, not in use. We have decided to go all in on hydroponics, almost bought an indoor system for $1500 bucks until I did more research and found your youtube channel. It is the Nutraponics system. Crazy, but this type of farming is not easily researched. I am absolutely grateful for your channel and everything you are sharing. Thank you. I am getting my husband on your channel so he can build us a system. I haven't looked at your site enough to have found your system but will soon. Please keep up the information. Thank you. I wish it were easy enough to find a system that has all the important needs.

      HI there, Jen! First of all, I'm SO happy to hear you and your husband have decided to go all in on hydroponics. It is a decision you will definitely not forget! I have looked intro the Nutraponics system and it does look interesting - but a hefty price tag considering you can't grow *everything* in that system. Enjoy perusing around my channel as you both continue on your journey. I haven't publicly posted this yet - I will be making this available to the entire community here at Humble Growth Hydroponics on the 10th. I'll send you a link now where you can learn more about The School of Hydroponics www.hg-hydroponics.com/hydroponicssalespage It's a 12-week comprehensive education that might be valuable for you and your husband if you're looking to get more from hydroponics and the ability to grow literally anything. I like to take the approach of plant first and then pairing it to the optimal hydroponic garden vs. prefabricated gardens and packing in whatever plants you want to grow. There is s a learning curve for sure, but you'll get so much more from your plants. Anyway, happy growing! Thanks for being here ~

    Do you ever use grow lights on your seedlings? I have watched several of your videos and they are truly helpful… I was giving my seedlings the wrong kind of light (red/blue) from the getgo… I am trying to save the seedlings I have already started… hopefully it works 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @humblegrowth
      @humblegrowth 12 днів тому

      No, I do not. I'm so glad to have been helpful to you. I use only blue and UVA led bulbs to encourage a more "compact" plant and leafy growth. Then, when you feel that your plant is ready, you slowly switch to more intense red light. Once the plant begins flowering dump all the photos and red wavelengths you can on the plant. Like 1000 to 1500 umols of light energy. You will want to implement a full spectrum grow light when you make the switch to more red light in preparation for fruiting/flowering. Hope that helps. Make sure it has a dimmer so that you can manually adjust the output.

    thank you for the instruction its a very nice hobby i like to have an idea build something and see it working i love how fast hydroponics are compared to earth but i miss something in the taste of hydro fruits there is less variety of aroma in my opinion i thought maybe there is a way to combine earth and hydroponics i tried making a "swamp" with bubbler but its a mess and in larger pots with 20 gallons or more its hard to handle indoors alone...but what would happen when you take a plant in a pot grown in earth and hang the outgrowing roots in a dwc? then you should have faster growth with all the magic happening in the soil anyone ever tried this?

    1. Half of recommended concentration when it comes to nutrients (750 ppm if 1500 ppm is recommended) 2. Add 10mL of 3% H2O2 per gallon 3. Wrong size container 4. Always keep grow light 12" away 5. Prevent algae by growing something that grows fast

    I just built my own hybrid aeroponic tower garden on my terrace with 4 towers, each having 28 plant holes. I can't believe I didn't come across your channel earlier during my research. UA-cam's algorithm works in mysterious ways sometimes. 🤷🏽‍♂️Anyway, I'm browsing through some of your videos and wish I had found this information sooner. It could have saved me a lot of trouble. My system is made of PVC (yes, I know, but living on an island limits my options 🤷🏽‍♂️). The towers are made of 125mm tubes and are almost 2 meters high. I haven't planted anything yet, as I'm still germinating the seedlings, but I'm really looking forward to my first crop.Ok, enough rambling. I'll keep browsing. 🙏🏼😎

They are warm white with kinda bare fronts so you can see the diods. Does this work or should I invest in a real growlight instead? (I am really new to being a plant mom)

However you can grow scalion, garlic, eat the leaves, everyhting.. I found rather than growing cucumbers that take 90 days or so.. I decided brocoli microgreens however wait 4 weaks to start eating .. just 2 towers will give you over 50 days of veggies every 30 days of high qulaity microgreens.. my smaller tower I use for hurbs. Great investment.. there could be cheaper out.. of course they they put this system togehter pretty good. the idea of having to labor for 3 days building one by scratch just to save 400 dollars? no logically just work your job and pay it then and get it done right. Also you can plant on tower gard.. plenty of room to grow on base too ad your own. I am doing an addtion week of sprouts on base of tower garden plent of light.. worth it during food collapse

Use a piece of gorilla packaging tape fold the cord down and put the packing tape onto the inside of the reservoir covering the cord and making a nice seal around the hole. Reservoir gets dirty and needs cleaned , glue gun wont be nice due to surface area being hard to properly clean.

    My question is how the mason jar works for plants that spread more horizontally than vertically, like arugula. I am finding it hard to picture how you can get "good yield" when the "field" of arugula at the top of the mason jar is limited to a few inches.

    You mentioned Blue + Red light as primary yet Cool White + Warm White are both just as essential!! I'd say their need is more in between primary + secondary 👈

      Warm white and cool white are just light spectrums with more blue or red light in them. There is no such thing scientifically as "white light". "white light" is simply a culmination of every other light color on the spectrum. A prism will show you what colors make up "white light. Therefore, cool white light is simply every light color with a lean towards more blue wavelengths. and warm light leans toward red. Blue and Red light, and more specifically just red light, are the ONLY NESSICARRY wavelengths that plants need for photosynthesis. If you want to optimize your growth however you can add higher wavelengths like UVA and Blue lights during early growth, then transition to a higher PPFD with much more red light during flowering to really get photosynthesis processes going. Other wavelengths like yellow, green, and orange are much less used by the plant. Nearly all green light is reflected by chlorophyll (that's why plants are green) and yellow and orange light is often absorbed verry minutely as red wavelengths. If you look at my thumbnail image, in order to create what manufactures call white light on there bulbs, you would combine all of the colors and subsequently create "white light". #thereisnosuchthingaswhitelight Hope this helps. ......I gotta do a video on this for sure.

      My wife is 8 months pregnant with our 3rd kid and we moved back to Maui 2 weeks ago. My A.S.A.P might not be the same as yours... But I promise to get to it, as soon as possible my friend. I am currently making 3 different towers to test out the design, I want it to be really good. Here is a link to Juice Plus Tower garden if you cannot wait. Would grow lights encourage mildew growth?

    • @humblegrowth
      @humblegrowth Місяць тому

      Not mildew, but algae. Mildew thrives in dank, dark places. Algae loves dank light places. Lucky algae is not harmful to you (it's actually healthy if consumed properly) unlike mildew which can turn into mold and become harmful to humans and animals. The main difference being, mildew is a fungus, with spores (eventually grouping together to create mold) the spores are what are dangerous to breath. Algae is a organism, just like us, similar to the single cell organisms that all life originated from. Regardless, you don't want either in your garden, so avoid light on your wet places, and dank warm dark places.
