A bit of drone for sure, from what I remember. Not intolerable, but certainly difficult to entirely ignore.

did u have to install another part or just the part that you mentioned?
For my jetta all i did was cut off the 2 muffler boxes and straight pipe it. the tone is really good and changes at 3k revolutions, but as the guy in the video said. you have to talk over the sound. This was one of the better videos ive seen of jettas with exhausts.

I am just now realizing (years later) that when I did the 0-60 test/cabin sound, that I was by no means on a flat straight-away. So much for the scientific method. LOL!

Hey man, does it sound good with just the muffler? I'm not planning to do a resonator delete
When I had it installed, the mechanic said the muffler swap alone did not do much to enhance the sound, or change it at all for that matter. So, it sounded like a resonator delete was key to make a real difference in the exhaust note.
So im guessing you got rid of the res then ?
What is the size of the muffler??

That's a great question, man! I'm sure there will be some difference between the exhaust notes of the two engines, but I can't definitively tell you how exactly it would sound.
I am really interested in buying this but really would like to know if the cops give you a hard time for the noise?
I didn't have it installed for more than several months, but I never got a noise complaint/violation. I also live in a small town in Georgia, so I'm not sure how much that factors into it.
I've been looking for a turbo for my 2.5L VW Jetta (2010). I don't wanna go with a c2 stage 2 turbo, but a turbo kit I've pieced together on my own. Are there any tuning devices for this model?

would this sound the same or similar to the 14815 model? It looks basically the same except the tips are different so I'm not sure if that would effect the sound or not, or if the mufflers themselves are different or whatever
I'm not certain. But, as long as the muffler construction/design is the same the exhaust note should remain unchanged.

Hey, I ended up returning to stock after a year because my parents thought it was a disturbance to our subdivision; you could hear it from the house as soon as I entered the neighborhood. I loved the sound, it definitely optimizes the exhaust note of the Jetta's unique straight 5 cylinder. My only grievance was that it had a fair amount of highway drone. You had to talk over it, somewhat.
+Austen Vail The sound that makes me sick is a Honda with a fart can. If I had a nickel for each one I have ever seen I would go buy a brand new Audi A8 with that cash!!

Thanks for your response. The 2.5l Jetta does have 2.25" pipes, and I just put the 14805 magnaflow on mine. Sounds great. It's a little dronie between 2500-3000 RPMs, but otherwise sounds super exotic.
Why put a magnaflow on a 2.5??
Why ask why? 170hp 5 cylinder isn't good enough for a magnaflow??

That's a good question! Unfortunately, I'm not extremely well-versed with the technical aspects of exhaust system modification. I simply had a local shop hook it up. Perhaps, an adapter was used, I'm not certain. Sorry! Ask a shop; they'll know how it works!

Only the muffler was changed. And, the only thing I did to the rest of the exhaust system was remove the mid-muffler/resonator and replace it with straight piping.
So that Magnaflow muffler has 2.25" inpipe diameter. Does that mean the 2.5 Jetta has 2.25" exhaust piping throughout? I'm looking to do the same with my '08 2.5L Jetta which I thought had 2.5" pipes, but now I'm not sure and can't find an answer to...
