This comes from a Reno, Nevada cook in 1968, Mr...

Ah bah nan! 😂 Dans le pain, francais ou pas d'ailleur, il faut des bulles d'air. Là il n'y en a pas... Peut-être un problème de levure, de temperature et de temps de repos de la pâte

Probably tasty, but it's a 1978 classic. It is not classic, historic Brunswick Stew.
Next time bake in a Bundt pan or tube pan...no undercooked middle. :)
Off topic a little. In the 1960s and '70s my family used to go to a Polynesian restaurant in Columbus Ohio called the kahiki which featured something called popo balls which were meatballs served in a kind of oriental sauce. It wasn't sweet like this it was more like meatballs served in a Chinese dumpling sauce but it was delicious. The kahiki is sadly now gone it was shaped like a ancient Polynesian ship and inside the walls were lined with fish aquariums and Polynesian decorations and grass skirted girls with slit leg dresses. Wonderful.
Stumbled across your channel today. Great content. I’d love to see new videos.
More coming soon!
Good video teach I am a Trying to be a cook and everything looks great thank u for the recipe 😁👍
And I didn't know u had a youtube channel

great job !

The recipe on the screen lasts la second. When stopped, can't see most of it! VERY FRUSTRATING!!!
Need to know amount of each ingredient! Didn’t list in notes section and only mentioned for 4 in verbal directions!!
Skip the okra. I don't want a gumbo.
Can you please give the entire recipe in text? I had this recipe in an old cookbook that I’ve lost, and I’m desperate to make it again, but I need the quantities of all the ingredients. It’s a fabulous recipe. Thank you for resurrecting it!
Apricots are commonly grown around the Vienna, Austria, area so having an apricot cake with your coffee there would not be surprising.
That makes sense!
FYI, in the 1940's ~ cottage cheese was promoted as a "protein" enhancer to make you eat less meat during wartime. Makes a lot of sense why this recipe had cottage cheese.
Interesting fact! Thanks for sharing.
I like seeing these old recipies, this is a fun series that deserves more views! Often they have unique combinations or techniques that get me thinking.
Thank you so much for watching! I try to put out at least one new video each week.
Yum! 🥧
🥗🙌🙌
😋😋😋
Canned milk is still available. I use it in pumpkin pie.
Good to know!
I’m a home bread baker and the scoring of bread is done after proofing, before it’s put in the oven. Score more vertical then horizontal.
Thanks for the tips. I was just following the order of directions in the recipe reviewed. Good things to know for other recipes, though!
Good video Dan, nice work 👍🏻
😚👍🏻🤲🏼😍🤲🏼😋😋😋😋👍🏻👍🏻♥✅
Have you ever been to France? This looks like supermarket batons, which is nothing like French baguettes.
I never claimed they were baguettes. It is what Americans call French Bread, or to you a baton.
@@recipereviverIn bread, you need to have bubbles. And your bread don t have it. Problem of temprature, yeast or rest time? I don t know
This is really strange. I’ve never seen a recipe where you score and then proof again.
Nice, but the baking time is a bit odd, looks like it was 45 minutes total. I've baked a lot of bread, and it's generally no more than ~25. I guess if you like that super hard crust...
I used to teach cooking, and I told my students that knowing measurements is important. So, instead of using 3 teaspoons, 1 tablespoon is the equivalent (less chance to make a mistake).
I've been looking for this exact recipe, thank you!!!!
All the negative comments! He told everyone he is going by the recipe book. He did not say it was a baguette!
Yup!
No recipe ,little or no use
Just reviewing the recipe as it is written.
but you don't put in in your write up so it can be copied and used in our homes.@@recipereviver
Gotcha. Thanks for the suggestion.
Nice video Dan, always enjoy a bread recipe. Have you considered putting the recipes you feature in the video description? I always find it useful.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Great 👍 beautiful recipe of pumpkin 👍
Do you think the jello was s little too set and the blue berry mixture didn't incorporate well rnough?
Very possible
Hello from Montreal ! I did twice recently that recipe .... quite good... But my nostalgia goes to, because I was born at the begining of the fifties .... to the original "All-Bran" recipe, but the company dont make their "All Bran" like they use to do so, the taste and the texture are not the same, so.. I have switched to Ina Garten's (The Barefoot Contessa on Food Network) recipe, she use unprocessed bran that she soak in buttermilk... that's for me is giving somehow the taste of childhood muffins ... I hope my english writing is not to complicated for you to read... for I am french speaking... Have a great day!
Votre Anglais est fantastique! Merci d'avoir regardé!

Beautiful sharing my dear friend 🤝
Recommendation to level up your beef's flavor: mix in a packet of onion soup mix while the beef is cooking. For this recipe, I'd also double the cheese and leave the tomato on the side as a garnish.
Where did you get the mixer you have?
Online
I have quite a few questions as well as a comment on key points. What recipe are you/we following ? How much are the egg whites being whipped ? Good video but I'd like to ask that you would be a bit more through describing and descripting more of your actions, while your cooking if you could please.
The recipe is from the book mentioned at the beginning and in the video description. The egg whites just say to be beaten, so I did them up as you would for a cake from that same period. Recipes from this time period were not super descriptive, thus why there isn’t more description from me a lot of the time.
@recipereviver Very well, thank you for your response and for answering my questions. 😊
Naic sar im new sabskribar😊
A cinnamon swirl would make this so much better that's how I do mine. Or i add Hershey's cinnamon chips to it
Agreed! That would make it a lot better.
