Hi, in this video we are using cashed sim exported from LiquiGen, but you can try to simulate something like that in realtime directly in Unreal using Niagara Fluids too.

Thanks, yeah I feel the same. Actually you can do large scale sims too, but obviously everything is based on the GPU memory you have and how the actual solver is able to manage so much particles and voxels, and the max number of particles the solver can manage.

Yeah LiquiGen is amazing, BTW this clip is just a preview...it is not a final render.....if you are talking about its look in LiquiGen viewport, actually it is not possible to shade it in the right way, if you talking about the rendering at the beginning, it has a wip shader applied just to render a preview, I think you are talking about the path tracer preview and viewport shaded view in LiquiGen, but again, it is not possible at the moment to have comple shaders on it....

Amazing tutorial thanks. Is there a way to do interactions with other meshes in a real manner, for example pouring cereal on top of milk simulating the cereal float and all
Thanks. Problem is that actually simulation is not "bi-directional", so fluids can interact and collides with meshes/objects but can't generate secondary motion like moving the meshes when fluid collides, in your example it is still not possible, objects can't float or move based on fluids interaction as it can be done with Phoenix and/or Houdini. BTW it would be a really welcome additional feature !

You are right it needs still some tweaks, we are investigating about it with the 0.3 Alpha version of LiquiGen so we have to understand if there are still limits controlling some king of fluids or it depends just on how some parameters are working together ;)

Thanks, yeah it is the same for me. Actually we are still working RTX 3090 on our workstations, we were thinking to update to RTX 4090 but still not sure, maybe we can still have more patience waiting for 5090, problem is that it seems memory will be again 24GB or maybe a little bit more and it would be interesting to have more and more, for example 48GB as in thee A6000 series.....
@@NyjoFX I think you would lose a significant amount of speed since that series isn't a "real-time'' rendering card. I am looking forward to the 50 series and already have a significant amount put away, but I wish we didn't have to pick one or the other.
@@jordantylerflores I would love to have a faster video card with more memory to play with LiquiGen and EmberGen, they are really fast, but speed is never enough, ahahahah

Thanks, as I said in this video, Blender is not our main software and I used it just 2 or 3 times for tasks asked by clients sent us assets in Blender...so it can be done in a better way for sure ;)

That vorticity is a Houdini quality!
Houdini is obviously amazing and everyone knows it, but I think EmberGen can create some really nice stuff at really high speed and if you are able to manage and layering nodes/forces in it you will be able to create amazing stuff.

you can export by using the simulation node. Just drag from where it says Mesh. And it will automatically create an export node. Export the mesh as alembic (.abc). In blender, just assign it a water shader.
Can I export to Blender?
Everything can be exported out as Alembic for example, and then you can import it in any other tool like Blender. We are going to post Part 2 tutorial to show how to do it.
Curious, how do you think so far liquigen compares to Houdini in terms of quality? Obviously it will beat houdini in speed, but what about in simulation and meshing quality?
So, it is a complex question because actually LiquiGen is still under heavy development, BTW I think I can say that actually Houdini is better and deeper full of advanced features to manage fluid simulation, meshing is far better but we should see the final 1.0 version to have a clear idea about what LiquiGen will be able to do and how. Sim speed is better is LiquiGen due to GPU but I think that for the moment we are talking about two different tools, that have different market/user/tasks target so it is nice to have both in pipeline ;) BTW again, LiquiGen seems coming really great....on the other side Houdini is amazing ;)
Full computer specs?
Recorded this video on a Ryzen 9 7950X, 128GB ram and a RTX 3090 ;) with a better GPU like 4090 it will be faster and faster simulating and rendering and with a 48GB PRO gpu you will be able to add more details before reaching defined particles/voxels limits....

I was planning to build a new computer using 14700k and rtx 4090 with 96gb DDR 5 ram 5600 but since the rtx 5090 is coming in a few months and also the new Intel 15th gen cpus, I'm waiting and saving more money for that instead. Is 96gb ram good enough for liquid/Ember Gen stimulations?
@@RichJamez haven't you heard, Intel 13th & 14th gen CPU's are failing? You should look into it before buying
@@IamSH1VA yes I heard about it. I've decided to wait for the Intel 15th gen release in the few months. I want to be on the new Intel Z890 motherboards that supports the new Intel socket 1851 until 2026. I just hope the 15th gen doesn't have issues similar to the 13th/14th gen.
when I view the "Trapped Air" and the "Wave Crests" the color of the mesh in my viewport is yellow, but your viewport shows purple. Is there are way to tweak that color parameter? It's hard to see any of the white water display with a yellow mesh representation. 27:07 into your tutorial. Update - later into the tutorial I went back and checked again and now it's purple.
Yeah, I had same issue, sometimes I see it yellow and sometimes I can't see the trapped air or crest color values, then if I close LiquiGen and launch it again everything works fine again, I think it is related to some alpha stage issue, still investigating to understand more about this issue....
