Were those pictures in your other video (Volvo 850 wooden door panel inserts) from an old (German) Volvo brochure? It looked like it said a dealer could fit out your volvo with wood 'in minutes'. Were they talking about the dash and console as well as the door cards? I can see popping out the masonite/leather door card and snapping in a wooden replacement in minutes, but I don't see how they could do a dash and console. The veneer on my 850 is coated with a thick clear finish, glued down, and then the black plastic around it is painted black. You can see where someone taped off the clear coated veneer and then painted black next to it, overlapping the junction between the black plastic dash and the wood veneer. I'm dying to figure out how to restore/replace that veneer on a dash/console. I've also seen veneer on the doors on the horizontal surface below the door card (on either side of the door handle pocket)

The wood trim amount just differentiates 850 and V70 and is one of the elements that pushed me towards the 850s little brother... 850 so damn serious and "grown up" with all these sharp corners and wood... made me feel like an OLD mothertrucker, you know? Let me be a silly clown in the V70 😛 Glad you persisted!

Our lives, our GF´s, our Kids´ and our Dogs´... So look around, clean the engine bay, shine a flashlight in there and immediately note all things loose and whack, all wetness, drips...

worth noting, this will only do front toe not aligned to the vehicle center line. if you car is pulling, you need to do rear toe relative to center line.

had one of these. total waste of time. have a set of dunlop optical gauges that are ok. now i use a "bought" string kit with the mounting frames. welded up some 500mm x 500mm x 500mm square tables on wheels to sit car on from the 2 post (you could use some home made drive on ramps). can now do each wheel mm perfect and do a true 4 wheel toe alignment. you could just use a tape measure, even volvo will give the the mm difference at the tyres in the pocket data books\vida if you cant be ars.. to work it out.

How are they mechanically to work on?

I have that one too + a blue metallic V70, its younger Brother. Touching them is the best thing of the day. (ice cube - today was a good day)

Loving these videos as its pretty much all the things i need to do to my v70 t5. Mine isn't remapped so only boosts to around 9 psi then suddenly drops off to around 4 psi. Does this sound like a faulty waste gate to you?

Have you ever tried mamba rebuild kits. Just put one in my 97 t5 seems to work for now. I also put a gasket on the manifold to turbo after rebuild.

I have 94 850 t5, driven about 390000 km´s. Imo that oil is coming from pcv system... I´m still using original 15g. Nice vids and greetings from Finland :)

yep, same on my v70, front indicators both had the orange tint on the bulbs peeling off, easy fix and nice to have crisp light.

nice simple fix, least you dont have an early car that suffers the leaking abs pump unit, misses had that go and had to pump pedal all the way home. would check the other hoses while you are there.

LOL! My V70-1 goes to the shop on monday on a slow brake fluid leak symptom among a host of other things. Well played on the camera perspective, Sir! Bike chain or Brake hose... I look up to anyone who gets their "mechanical hands" dirty.

I do miss the little hood release handle through the grille (RIP 1994 855T).

These arms also had a plastic infill plate that filled that empty triangular area, and snapped over those aluminum tabs you see on the arms. The plastic pieces are almost always missing.

I just a week ago was investigating what looks like OEM on my '98 S70T5 (because the PO brought it to Level 0 with various intake piping), and was getting the part numbers of the things I found, like the inlet snorkel that you showed here. Turns out all the OEM valves seem to be present. I am wondering why you were looking at the PTC in this video, because I am suspecting mine is clogged and keeping gases from getting to the turbo inlet. Maybe in a previous video you had issues with yours. That port was definitely increased in diameter.

This is very helpful. I believe you did some things out of order, but it is easy to sit in judgment watching you work. The serpentine belt got in your way of putting the crank pulley guard plate back in. You should turn over the engine twice to be sure your timing is correct - which you also would do before the serp belt. It looks like having the idler pulley removed would make the water pump access easier. Personally, I would not refill the coolant until I was done, but with all the fiddling needed with the water pump you may have been concerned about dirt on the gasket causing a leak. I bought a stubby T45 for the tensioner, and a stubby 3/8" extension to make it easier to access the bolts.
