Just wanted to drop a comment before asking the community on the websites, no luck asking Interac ALT or Aeon directly on the school's mentioned on the video, but if my aim to go as an ALT first not straight teacher, and with those companies (I know not the best records from friends) what the above mentioned schools do "they" like or does it matter?

Can you please review the TEFL course by Asian college for teachers. I want to have an in class training experience . It seems they have good experience in this field and it's the only institution that offers an offline course as well. Over the internet I could find only positive reviews, which makes me feel sceptical. It'll be helpful if you can review it.

Make sure you read the contract with a fine tooth comb because they will wave it in your face the moment anything goes wrong. Make sure you’re aware of and agree to all the extra fees. I to I is a nightmare people. Their live chat doesn't work, their phone number doesn't work, their callback doesn't work. They deleted my old account that I purchased a membership a couple years ago with so I emailed them trying to figure that out and get a course extension, they emailed me back asking when I bought it and what email I used (they couldn't just look up the email that I emailed them from?) I sent them a screenshot of my purchase with all my info and it's now been a week since I sent that and still not received a response. Absolutely unbelievably horrible tefl course to take, do not support these incompetent worthless idiots.

What they dont mention is that most Asian countries have a mandatory retirement age, usually 62, so if you are over 60 forget it. They wont call you. Also, while they might consider a run-of-the-mill TEFL certificate if desperate, desirable schools that pay well or have good benefits almost always insist on the Cambridge CELTA or Trinity TESOL.

I think many of these numbers are off, mostly in the direction of inflation. For example, they say salaries in Japan start at 2,200 USD per month. However, that is about 333,000 yen, which is much higher than the average, especially for a beginner. Average is probably more like 250,000 yen. Also they say you can expect housing, but that's definitely not true. Almost no jobs in Japan provide housing. They might help you find a house, but they won't pay for it. Teaching abroad can be a great experience, but it's not as lucrative or as easy to save money as it used to be, outside of China or teachers in advanced roles.
