Incredible, Hunter! Loved watching you tackle this challenge! Great job!
Thank you so much! I appreciate the kind words.
Awesome support from Lily. She helped you really well. Good effort
@@Bendeenswaray Truly can’t do it without a solid support team! Makes all the difference. Thanks for watching!
Lil wins wife of the year award!! That girl takes sleep seriously, she must love ya ☺️😏
@@alyssabell9259 You are 100% spot on with that!
Good luck. Nothing like the first hundred. Winning that mental battle makes the ones that come later so much easier.
Thank you! Yes! I can not wait to get into the race and see what I’m made of mentally and physically! 💪🔥
Good stuff! Keep working hard!
@@JaydenFoltz Thanks dude! You too!
Great vid and lovely home
Thank you!
how do you manage your rest periods when you are working out so much? do you see any strength gains when you exert so much energy between running and weight lifting? how does your periodization look like- like you run 3 times a week or do you not run on weight training days?
Recovery is huge! The biggest things I do to ensure I’m recovering is making sure I get at least 7-8 hours of sleeper every night. This is vital for performance, recovery, and injury prevention. The second thing is ensuring you’re eating enough to fuel your workouts, most endurance athletes are under fueled. Lastly, I’m always doing some stretching and foam rolling every evening to ensure I’m staying loose and injury free. I always take 1 full rest day per week. In regards to my running and strength training plan, we have a video coming out on Friday morning that explains my training split and how I’m implementing both running and lifting. Be sure to check that out on Friday!
I don’t get how running is fun for some ppl
I used to think the same thing! I enjoy it because it’s a way to challenge myself daily and I love seeing what I’m capable of when it comes to distance, paces, etc. when you get into running a lot you realize that you are a lot more capable than you think! That’s what keeps me pushing each day. I love seeing slow progress because of consistent behaviors overtime. Not to mention, the running community has some of the most kind and genuine people in it!
Congratulations on the finish! I was out there with you, although I finished an hour and a half behind you. Mohican is not an easy course. It always produces a lot of DNF's. It is a very good prep race for a 100 miler. The best of luck to you in your future races. Go get that buckle!
Thank you for the kind words! It is definitely not the easiest of courses but it sure is beautiful. Congrats to you on the finish as well! Keep pushing!
Also at the end is that bird poop on Lilly’s shoulder
No. That would be salt from touching me. Haha
Way to go Huntie Bear!!!
Thanks Maddy Bear!
Congrats brother! You did such an awesome job! Good wise word at the end💪🏽 so great meeting a fellow warrior on the journey. Good luck on the 100 and look forward to following along your journey.
Appreciate it!
Congrats man! Keep pushing the limits!
Thanks dude! Much appreciated!
It's great to see a very fatigued runner still be so polite. It speaks volumes to your character. When you're exhausted your true self shows up. So much respect for this distance and effort. Well done and props to your support team too!
Thanks so much for the kind words! It was an awesome day. The crew and I enjoyed every second of it! The running community truly is the best community! So many kind and inspiring people out there! 🤝
What’s your top 3 trail shoes my speed goats are all wore out and time for something new any suggestions
I’m a fan of the Nike Zegama’s. That’s what I’ve ran the most in. I’ve raced in the original Zegama’s which is what I’m wearing during this session. I just picked up a pair of the Zegama 2’s which is what I plan to race this 50 miler in assuming I break them in with no issues. I’ve tried Speedlands and the Nike wildhorses and I prefer the Zegama’s over those. Those are the only 3 I’ve had experience with but would highly recommend the Zegama’s. I almost picked up a pair of Hoka challengers but opted for the Zegama 2’s. What’s your experience with the speed-goats?
Heck ya! Congrats on the sub 3:30! Keep killing it 🤙🏽
Thanks dude! Appreciate the support!👊
Dude, congrats on a well executed race! 5 miles in that pit stop could've messed with your head the entire run, but you didn't let it affect you. Stoked for you and awesome to see your support network. Good luck in the next prep. 50 miler, you got this! I PRd my marathon as well and went sub 3:15. Keep inspiring us, see you next time.
Thanks for the kind words! It was great day out there! Congrats on your marathon! That’s awesome! Keep workin!!
Congrats man! Enjoy watching your progress and seeing you succeed!
Thanks dude! Much appreciated!
Good luck with the race on the 28th. I’ll be out there on the road out here in California racing as well. I’m also going with the VP3s. Sub 3:30, we got this!
Yes sir! Good luck to you as well! Time to let it rip!
Just started my taper weeks before the marathon at the end of the month. Completing deload weeks throughout the build was crucial for me and definitely knew it was time based on the cues that you listed as well. Good luck with the rest of your build.
Awesome! Good luck with your race as well! Let us know how it goes!
Great video!
Thank you!
don't even bother trying to push these bad supplements on us, to anyone watching theyre not needed dont waste your money just eat food. this video is a paid ad
Thanks so much for your comment. For your information, I’m not affiliated with BPN in any capacity. I pay for these products myself. I have no deals with them. The supplements work and are proven. I do agree that you can use food as I do in this video. However, pairing these supplements with food can enhance your training sessions. Not to mention the convenience factor of gels when trying to take in fuel while running. Make sure you try something and are informed before you make a comment like this. Again, I’m not affiliated with BPN in any capacity, just know that they enhance my training sessions with clean fuel.
On week 7 of my marathon prep and running around 40 miles a week. Wondering your opinion on G1M Sport and if you think it's worth the money. I want it but I'm on a tight college budget. Thanks!
As well as GO gels
I’m a huge fan of G1M, it’s so quick and convenient fuel for my everyday runs. It gives me quick digesting carbohydrates and it has a full electrolyte profile to help support hydration. It can also be used during runs for fuel/ hydration support as well. If you’re on a tight budget I’d suggest going with G1M over the GO gels for now. The gels are much more convenient for mid run fuel but I believe you’ll see more benefits from G1M as of now with the hydration support and carbohydrate supply it has. It’s also super easy on the stomach and I never have any issues with it. I believe it’s worth it for quick fuel and hydration support. Hope your marathon prep is going well! Keep up the good work! 🔥
@@FoltzFitness Thanks for your input! I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on the G1M sport. Keep up the content you're doing great!!!
@@collineisenbarth7020 Thank you for the kind words! Let me know how you like it! Good luck with your upcoming training.
57 miles damn! You're definitely going to be crushing your race pace and goal. Enjoy the recovery week.
Thanks! I’m hoping so! Been a solid prep so far. Have to stay focused in these final weeks leading into the race! Getting very excited!
Just recently got into running and my friend also highly recommended the endorphin speed 3's. So glad I listened to him! Great review btw. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the kind words! Love the endorphin speed 3’s. Can’t wait to try out the 4’s, hopefully they are as good or better! Keep getting after it!👊
Looks like you're already a BPN athlete. Now all you need is the official sponsorship. Remember to express gratitude for your camera operator and all the support they are providing. 🙂
Actually not a BPN athlete. I just enjoy their products and support their mission, vision, and values as a company and brand! Nick is awesome and he’s one of the people I look up to in the fitness space!
Just found your channel and can't wait to follow you on your journey! Stoked that you're going after your goals and wish you all the best on this one in 2024.
Appreciate the kind words! Let’s crush 2024 👊
Great video and shoe rotation breakdown. I have a similar rotation which I’m loving right now. Novablast 3, More V4, Endorphin Speed 3, Takumi Sen 9, Vaporfly 3. Good luck with 3:30!
Thanks for watching! Sounds like a good rotation also! How do you like the Vaporfly 3’s? I’m excited to try them out, however, they seem a bit narrow in the mid foot area which is my only concern.
@@FoltzFitness I actually had the same concern about the narrow mid foot structure but it didn't bother me at all. I've only put two runs on them: one interval session with 800sx6 and another 14 mile run with 6 miles at marathon pace. Those 6 miles felt like I was flying! I'm 175lbs so I was a little worried about how my feet would feel at the end, but now I have no worries at all.
@@SantaCruzRunner That’s good to hear! I’m excited to get a few training runs in them before the race and that was my only concern. Glad to hear they were good for you!
Been dying to watch you make some scrambled eggs
Might have to post a 20 minute tutorial on how to make scrambled eggs.
Got the sub for lifting + running
Recommend the Akron marathon. Tough ass course
Thanks for the sub and welcome to the community! The Akron trail marathon is a fun one! That was the first race I ever did.
