Everyone actually believes that the kids on Gluten Free actually designed and built their robots for all their years in FIRST, same goes for Mechanical Paradox Cubed. One day these kids will realize they prepared and worked hard to win this competition and that their coaches and parents were there to cheer them on. Really happy that the kids on the team got to experience the competition for themselves. FIRST is not about driving a robot. As Dean Kamen has stated FIRST is really NOT about the robots. It is about the learning journey, and fortunately, these teams coaches and parents got the message, and the real winners are the kids on these teams. Ultimately they will have is a trophy that represents hard work, dedication, and the experiences they received.

generally id agree, but you look at peter (the programmer from 11115)'s code and its apparent a high schooler wrote it. Not meant to be an insult, but its true. or ask Steven (the builder) about their robot, and he can answer any question you can think of. They work extremely hard. I know that is not the case for all, but for 11115 it is

Really awesome that the kids on the team got to experience the competition for themselves. FIRST is not about driving a robot. As Dean Kamen has stated FIRST is really NOT about the robots. Completely agree with you. Every year at state the past 4 years I have done robotics there are always peoples robots that are way too good to be true. There was a rookie team this year that went onto worlds and when it came down to team decisions at state the coaches were making decisions for them... NOT the team... And the robot was WAY too good for a first year team...

Same here as FROGbots. We got rammed so hard by them when they deliberately shot at us from a couple feet away that two of our wheels lifted off the ground, bend our frame and shattered the hub of one of our drive wheels. There was even a collective vocal cringe from the crowd it was so hard. Ref said our robot was too weak so it was not a penalty. Huh? Glad they correctly called it here, not that it affected the outcome. Congrats to LANBros, Gluten Free and NYAN! Awesome robots and performance.

It sure would be nice if Gluten Free truly designed, built and programmed their own robots instead of having their coach do it for them. I thought that was the intent of the First competitions. Having coaches do the work and the kids just drive the robot in competition defeats the entire intent of the competition. The teams that actually design, build and program their own robots get something out of this competition that will help them for their entire lives, but the teams that have their coaches do the work will regret it in the future. A trophy is only meaningful if you actually earned it, and in a STEM engineering competition you must actually do the work for it to benefit you.

@@atmansingh3160 Most teams have this same understanding and this can be taught after the robot is built, as is the case for Gluten Free. BTW, I have done my research. I've watched them over multiple years in competitions in 3 different states and at various levels of competition including worlds, I've personally spoken to them and even judged them in competition. I, along with others who have evaluated them, don't believe they are responsible for their robot. I know you and your FTC team would like to believe that all teams play by the rules, but the fact is that some teams don't. Gluten Free is one of those teams.

Christian von Koenigsegg ah, I see just now you seem to raise issue with these teams. 1 month ago was right before world's, when I know that some of these kids were putting in 70+hrs a week into their robots. I too have watched the livestreams of competitions gluten free went to. Also, if the judges are analyzing this aspect of a team so much, why has gluten free won both control and design at world's. I guess they are competent enough to dupe a room of dozens of judges into thinking that they know what they are doing, but not you! Additionally, as an industry scouter I find it quite appropriate that you go and comment on UA-cam videos saying that kids are mentorbuilt. Not as if you could just tell this to all the people you know. But I understand, you feel the need to attempt publically defame these teams so that everyone knows of their true evilness. I get it, it's just buisness.
