I want to thank 'rausatanvirus' for posting these 3 songs from my DVD many years ago.... and all of you for your kind comments. I read through them and it makes me pretty happy.
Everybody is talking about Eloy, Estebario, Ricciardo, David Diepold, Marthyn,66 samus, mauricio etc etc... they're good, yeah no doubt, but guys, here is the Master of All metal drummers out there. Bobby Jarzombek, he is by far the best metal drummer ever!!
These 2 guys, Bobby and his brother Ron (guitarist on here), are 2 absolute sick freaks! Ron buys guitars only because he needs guitar necks for the guitars he builds himself. Man, their brains must be so bored with us humans.
ua-cam.com/video/Vdgs3anFrAo/v-deo.htmlsi=wGlhyBXYzOO6lXFN Here is my humble attempt on this crazy and ridiculous hard song (peppered cancer)! So much respect for Bobby, just my all time favorite drummer, learned tons from him. Covered note by note, hope you like it!
He did a tour with Riot with double bass drums, double floor toms, a snare and a f*$# load of cymbals...played through Thundersteel flawlessly like he always does...stud drummer fo sho
i saw this video many years ago (lots of times). Now with some modern drummers like El Estepario Siberiano, Pedro Tinello, etc And I remembered this video and I gave it a try again. This guy is just another level, is a monster in his instrument and the progressive style!!
Bobby J is a Top 10 drummer of all time. Right up there with Geddy Lee as a Top 10 bassist of all time. Steve Vai as a Top 10 guitarist of all time...and Geoff Tate as a Top 10 vocalist of all time.
To help demystify one aspect of his solo playing technically speaking. Please notice how he attributes his right hand the melodic voicings which is mostly of single stroke execution by virtue of the space between the melody notes played. The left hand then is tasked with filling in the space of the subdivision groups via combination of single or double stroke fill in. You'll notice this when he plays the sweeping right hand melody orchestration around the set with the left hand sitting mostly on the hi hat as to keep the hi hat time as a constant time voice reference throughout. This principle is only broken upp by certain ruff fill flourishes that has his left and join his right on certain Tom and cymbal dispersion. Overall though, his go to is to have his right and play main accents and alternate sound source or orchestrations while his left maintains ghost note fill in work to add complexity and continuity to the proceedings. Watch again and tell me if I'm onto something. Thanks
Tired of these type of drummers and music. They play the same, sound the same, and just beat the drums up real fast. If you closed your eyes, you would not know who the hell is playing.
looks like you didn't invested the time to watch the whole video, neither open your mind to actually look up who Bobby Jarzombek is. He's probably the most talented, variated and versatile drummer at this point in time. The styles he plays go from Jazz over Country, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal through to ultra progressive Metal and I would consider him as one of the only ones who still use dynamics and variation in his playing. He definitely is outside of the type of drummer you mentioned. There are plenty of examples for his accented playing here on youtube, f.e. Fates Warning - White Flag (Drum & Bass Play-Through) - UA-cam or "From The Rooftops" Bobby Jarzombek drum cam - UA-cam -> Tired of these type commentators who cruise the net with closed minds, eyes and ears, just thinking they are all-knowing after half a minute into a video. Do your chores right before adding unqualified comments!
@@Signofevil_Smile4theCam OK tell what jazz and jazz fusion groups that are legend he played with. Also tell me the sounds so I can open my mind if it is true.
@@kcorpora1 4:42 should give the answer. f.e. or listen to ua-cam.com/video/_uDUU138N2U/v-deo.html as another example, you don't have to play in a Jazz/fusion Jazz band to be able to play it, and especially not need to play in 'legend' bands. Mate you put yourself down with such a dumb wording. If you want Legendary bands, He plays with: Rob Halford, Riot, Fates Warning, John Arch, Sebastian Bach, Juggernaut, and many many other projects. But names are just names, legendary or not, it's the quality that counts. Of course he can play Painkiller by Judas Priest or whatever, but this goes more into the direction you dislike. ;) In your initial comment you complained about high speed drumming that is used to boredom nowadays, to which I strongly agree, but not on Bobby. He is one of those very few drummers who still uses dynamics, feelings and accent in the right moment, often even plays his own track within the track. What you commented on is a training video, which contains 3 different tracks, displaying different styles. And even though track 1 and 2 are 'fast' the footwork is not just simply double bass through the whole song, if you listen closely you will hear it. other examples: ua-cam.com/video/vgVu9lMter4/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/TOoWNzPpO9A/v-deo.html etc. never forget, this guy was the only drummer who had the balls to refuse the invitation for the Dream Theater audition.
What I love about Bobby is, amongst other things, his ability to play so many different styles. He just seems to have no boundaries: Juggernaut, Riot, Arch/Matheos, Halford, Fates Warning, Zierler, Sebastian Bach, Demons & Wizards, Blaze Bayley, Ripper Owens, etc. Anybody ever checked out PAINMUSEUM (ua-cam.com/video/rBtFAIfNeT0/v-deo.html)? Imagine his talent would now rot within Dream Theater. Glad he didn't had the time to prepare for the auditions.
@SabuPtolemy Well, it's not that I forgot them, it wold take too much space to mention all bands and artists he was involved. I didn't wrote that he recorded with Blaze. He did perform with Blaze.
@@Tranarpnorra yeah, Ralph plays keys and also plays/played Bass for 'Backhand Betty'. He wrote a Thesis called 'Proportional Relationship in the Segmentation Masses of Obrecht and its Influence on Form and Structure' for his Master in Music from the University of North Texas.

I almost busted a rib headbanging to this motherfucker... sweeet

Baffled this hasn't reached 1M+ views yet after all those years, Bobby really is a master at his craft.
been a fan for 16 yrs or more this guy has done his practice and more to be Noticed .
And yet here I am again 2022 watching this video again
This is l well and good, but can he play any White Stripes? 🤔
You Google once where he all played/plays. Should be self-explaining, make your comment obsolete and enhance your knowledge.
@@Signofevil_Smile4theCam lol it was sarcasm. Might be too simple for him. 😂 😆

The drum video that convinced me to quit drums lol
