According to some fishermen on the river turtles are fairly common catches because they eat all sorts of things. This was my first turtle caught on a line. Not sure if it was his first time, but he seemed really happy to go back.

After a little time in captivity the giant carp and the pikeminnow were released from the stringer back into the river. By that time the word got out so there was quite a large audience of about 8 people present. So long fishies, I guess this was your lucky day. It surely was mine.

This shiny little striped bass decided to take a quick tour to the shore. Little did he know that I was not interested in his company. His visit was appreciated nevertheless.

There is a special time in every freshwater fishermans life. And that time is when out of the river comes a turtle :) Yup, a sweet little turtle.
