#3 Dirt to Dream Home: We Bought A Hyundai 60CR-9A Excavator for The Dream Home Project!
Hey that’s me!!
Yes a cute puppy like that would make a great Chanel.
Dont wanna burn up a well pump, but what its for is lost on me
Tough to get water from a well without a pump. But that's about to change.
If it’s lab approved it’s good enough for me. I have a year old chocolate lab and have been looking at the cub cadet zero turns lately thinking bout getting one. If I do I’ll have to make sure mine is lab approved also!! 😂
We love ours (both the lab and the cub)! 😉
Where do you buy this at?
Here is the link to the multi purpose spray.. the rest can be found in the description! 😎 amzn.to/3RQHXwT
Walmart
I have had mine for a few months now and I love it. I saw videos where some people were saying how bad Cub is and all that but I went to a local mower shop known for their good work that works on them and the guy there told me yes they are good. Not hard to work on. Last and perform well as long as you properly maintain it. He gave me some other tips on buying a zero turn as well so I went to my local Home Depot and bought one. Now some people have reported theirs was not put together completely or correctly so don't buy from HD. This is going to depend on your local HD. Lowes, or any other box store as to who puts it together and how well they do. My local HD apparently has very good people. It was put together completely and correctly and I got it the next day. Delivered. Can't praise them enough. Anyway I have 2.3 acres and mine mows it like a champ. I even mow my neighbor's yard because the lady is old and alone and I help her out with yard work. She has about 1.5 acres. She has the really good Augustine grass too. The thick Floratam type. My ZT1 cuts it like a champ. My grass is more like field grass. Combo of bahia and some type of wild stuff. I hope to sink a well and get proper irrigation this year so I can get the good Augustine grass like she and the other neighbors have. I upgraded from and old Murray tractor style mower to the ZT1 and I love it. Never going back to the old style mowers anymore.
Does your mower make a grinding noise when you turn or pivot?
It does not.
cute
What about under side?
That was in pretty good shape.
I have the exact same lawn mower the battery is a junk that come with it I believe it's like 210 cranking amps I got rid of it and bought one from Tractor Supply 350 cranking amps makes a huge difference. Also how do you keep your mouth underneath mower deck from kicking up with grass mine takes up with grass whether I'm more wet or dry can't seem to figure that out it's a pain in the ass to scrape have to lift it up with my tractor and lay under it and scrape under the deck
Good question - have same issue.
I have a ZT1 50 inch cut. Going on four years old. Still have the original battery. Only thing I don’t like is that grass collects on top of the deck. Damp grass will stick to the bottom of the deck. My deck is in good condition. I also added grease fittings to the spindles. Other than that really pleased with the mower.
I'm getting ready to repaint areas on mine again.
Never had any problems with the paint on mine although I did repaint the bottom of the deck with a special paint to help keep grass from sticking to it. Waste of time and money lol.
Thanks for this. I have 177 hours and have not yet. I will be soon. So 1) how often? And 2) if I did not replace mine, how do I get in there to the oem fittings? I bought a needle grease adapter. Will that work?
Have to check the manual on how often.... but I do it every so often depending on use. With the factory ones it's not real easy - I used a needle adapter before and it worked okay
My Spindle (the silver one that has the nut underneath) was rocking loosely and making my deck cut the grass very short. I removed that bolt and saw that nothing is wrong, but it was sitting lower than the other side... but what caused it to make my deck sit low?
The spindle was lower and then others?
That is one beat up deck. Gotta clean those off every mow.
Yup - clean each time
Rust-oleum "Sun Yellow" is a great match for JD Yellow. It's only 6.95 here in Florida. I actually like it better as it's just a touch deeper yellow.
Is the fram ok to run on the zt1
We used one on ours.
Your troubles are all self inflicted due to improper maintenance. Cut wet, store dirty.
Never cut wet and keep it clean.
thanks for video! I live in the mountains so I have some hills around the house. this really helps.
Glad to help!
have u ever seen the inside of a fram oil filter it has just about half the filtering paper inside of it as a wix or napa filter just as u know
Yeah, we are using up the stock we have and then switching out
Worst part on his birthday
Sorry for your loss RIP ❤️
Thank you - she was a great best friend and will be missed.
I have a ZT1 54, and a JD 115. Seems to be common trend.
They go well together!
Im sharing....
I just got a brand new zt1 50 and I think the wheels are squeaking. I’ve only used it three times. Any idea what I should do?
I'd check with the dealer.
I can't tell is this the wide body?
It is not.
@@AFR_Adventures that's what I thought
@@AFR_Adventures I thought it wasn't but wasn't sure thanks, I love the go Mango color for the Challengers.
What are the two anchor wire on either side of the motor they are loose on my ZT 1
Are you referring to the sliver looped wires that go through the deck? These are known as the Hydro Bypass Rods that allows you to roll the machine.
@@AFR_Adventuresthank you as I had no idea what they were for . Now I can release them an move my machine without starting
Put a big block 440 in it. 👍
Do you know what u joints they were that had the zerk on the outside?
My notes show Moog 410
Had ours since 2021. Still not sure what to think. It does fine but the cut quality isn’t that great in my opinion. But of course I’m coming from a newer exmark. Used to mow but I gave it up and sold it. Got this for my yard. It sure does lay down some stripes though! I was surprised. Sits out in the weather every winter. I kid you not, every spring it fires right up. Haven’t had to charge the battery a single time yet. My 2019 exmark radius 60” would never stay charged over winter.
I was wondering what kind off paint and primer and brand
rust-oleum sunburst yellow
Good video really helped me figure out how to put the tensioner spring on. Having troubles with the tension of the belt when putting the deck back on. Any tips?
What is the exact problem?
@AFR_Adventures just saw your reply I actually figured it out. Thank for responding though!
How do you start this with the seat not set and the safety switches not resisting the start - up? I can't get my Zt1 to start at the moment and I think it may be the seat switch - but it also could be the choke.
As long as the arms are open, PTO switch is off, it should start - at least mine did.
the seat switch kills if the blades are engaged. (check you battery, that was my issue)
Nice job! did i miss it or did you tell us what yellow paint you used? I'm having a really hard time trying to find a good yellow match for my 2006 JD deck.
We used RUST-OLEUM Sunburst paint. Covered pretty well and flowed nice.
That’s a slight grade in my yard
Great tractor! I have one myself that I also changed the u-joints last year…about 300 hrs. What kind of grease gun are you using?
I have a Dewalt cordless - works great!
@@AFR_Adventures Thanks for the video and the recommendation on the cordless grease gun.
Thanks .. had no idea.
Glad to help
I love your video. Why would the do something like this. The have the auto connect deck. It amazes me. I had a zero turn that didn’t have the proper way to blow out the cooling fins. Thanks again for the video. I did subscribe to your channel. Can’t wait for more content
My thoughts exactly. Bit of pain to grease.
Thinking about buying one of these tractors, From what I have read these u joints are a pain to get too. And the biggest issue with it. I bet it was a job replacing them. But good thing to do & putting the fitting on outside of it,was a smart thing to do! Shame Deere didn't think about making it eaiser to get to them!
Hardest part in replacing was removing the ring that locked the shaft to the engine. After that it was pretty easy.
Great video, thanks for sharing. The only thing I would say is it is always nice to mention the size of sockets/wrenches, it saves a minute or two here or there, it's nice to have them all ready to go.
Great tip!
Had a friend that would rub it all over his Ford Ranger , It looked like he had a new Paint job! Yours turned out good here!
Thanks - Usually do it once or twice a season.
I was looking at a 2010 2320, Been reading up on it, The u joint on the drive shaft, How do you do yours?? It looks to be a pain to grease them.
We grease the rear from underneath and the front by either removing the side panel and the cover or going up underneath, which is more difficult. Some people cut access panels into the side and floor pan, but like to keep it factory.
@@AFR_Adventures OK, Will sure keep that in mind If I buy this one. Man said they did grease them when it was serviced, But I don't put a 100% in that , You know Sadly. But it would be the first thing I would do If I buy it. And like you I'm not going to cut holes in it either! Thanks for your reply!
Manual or automatic? Great effort. What type of plow and system are you using? We’re thinking about 1997 Wrangler with manual - thoughts? Thank you.
It's an automatic so my wife could drive it - she's not big on standards. The plow is an old Snow Bear - it was inexpensive and fairly light which is what I wanted to go easy on the Jeep. My brother had a '97 or '98 manual and used it for plowing with a Fisher plow. Worked great for him and he only got rid of it because the frame rusted out. I bought mine new and it has always been garaged so I know the frame and rust spots which are few and far between. They do tend to rust out, so my advice would be to get under anyone you're looking at and check the frame and body mounting points for rust through before you buy.
@@AFR_Adventures Thanks for the feedback - words of experience are always welcome - have a great week and appreciate your follow up!
Nicest and clearest documentation of the cub cadet ZT. My drive belt just came off and I put it back together, but the tensioner pulley is sloppy and I haven’t been able to to get the Ultima ZT-1 to move yet. More investigation on what is causing this. 🤕
Bummer, let us know how you make out! 🙁
Did you check to make sure that the pto disengage linkages in the rear are not pulled back; that puts it in neutral so you can push the mower manually but won’t move on its own, make sure those are pushed forward towards the front!
I got rid of the plastic seat bumpers and replace with 3 inch motorcycle seat springs barrel type. Totally worth it.
Great idea!
After 22 years on a 42" Craftsman rider with a 18.5hp Briggs, HARD plastic seat and stiff as heck steering, we bought our first ZT1 50" and I couldn't be happier. It's like driving a car with power steering. I see a number of people talking about swapping our the factory pads for springs, but having been beaten nearly to death on the Craftsman and HARD plastic seat, I would describe the Cub Cadet as luxurious. Thankfully, our yard is really flat and smooth with no obstructions like tree roots. I will be adding that seat cable soon to protect the seat from flopping all the way down to the deck cover.
Any videos on sticky tachometer?
Not yet. Haven't had that problem so far.
Yous an old puppy. 😊
Almost 14
Good video, I like how I have the exact same choke problem LOL. I usually have to reach back there and pull it up for a second to get it to start on cold days. I will have to try to adjust it like you did.
I just bought a Cub Cadet ZT1 54” deck. The first thing I did was take the spindles off and take the inner seals on the top and bottom bearings off and added a 45° grease zerks. Now I should be able to just add grease and keep the spindles from going bad, like I’ve seen on all the UA-cam channels.
Cubs are shit lol battery mowers are shit lol
You know the manual states not to wash the mower with water except for the bottom of the deck?
Yeah I've seen their note about washing. Been washing all sorts of equipment for years and never had any issues as long as you're careful around the electronics, spindles, grease fittings, etc. and be extra careful if you dare to use a pressure washer....
@@AFR_Adventures I was wondering if it would cause a premature rusty magnet. Mine is getting rusty without even spraying it down.
