EPIC BATTLE: REPLACE AN ENGINE VS GETTING READY FOR A NIGHT OUT

Us boys constantly roll our eyes at how long girls spend getting ready for a night out. The girls constantly roll their eyes when we tell them "this job should only take 15 minutes" To prove that we actually ARE efficient, we are going to see if we can get a motor into our 1994 Toyota Soarer and have it running before it takes the girls to get ready to head into the city! PLEASE COMMENT ON ENGI...

HOW TO CHANGE BRAKES ON A DODGE VIPER
Переглядів 3,1 тис.3 роки тому
Many 90's Supercars are difficult to drive at their limits. Lack of any assists makes the Dodge Viper RT/10 one of the most notorious of the lot. In this video we give the Viper’s brakes some much needed attention. I cannot stress this enough, the 2JZ-GE or non turbo engines ARE interference engines. The 2JZ-GE has a 10.5:1 compression ratio while a turbo 2JZ has an 8:1 compression ratio those engines are the non interference engines

    I've always liked the looks of the 1st generation coupes and drove a '77 GT Coupe back in the mid-80's. Those Dunlop wheels match up really nicely with this car. (Good call on the plans to restore the interior.)

    Nice video! I got a dumb question, how do you torque crank bolt with torque wrench? Coz crankshaft will keep spinning?

    • @BreakingCars
      @BreakingCars 2 роки тому

      Hey mate, We ended up tightening on with an impact gun. Once the engine was in the car we put the car in 5th Gear and pulled the handbrake on. Our torque wrench only went up to 300nm so that's the max we could go. Because the bolt tightens clockwise along with engines rotation we figured it would be okay. If you plan on tracking the car and giving high RPMS often, then I suggest going to a Titan crank bolt and using their suggested torque. Cheers

    Keep the viper content coming. I bought my 94 last year and did the wire and spark plugs myself. Not anywhere close to a mechanic so it is possible for the average Joe to do it. Now the brakes might be a whole different story. with just 29k miles on mine, brakes are good for a little longer as the pads look fine. I'm not going to do those myself though. I can't get the car off the ground in my situation. Thanks for posting these kinds of videos.
